    Man oh Man you literally brought tears to my eyes! Thanks for talking about this!
    I have been dealing with bad depression for months and i cant get out of it.
    You said you have a beautiful family and i will say always remember that time with them is the most important! Sacrifice now all you can so in a few years you can be home more and dont have to work as hard and just have as much time with them as you can!
    After watching your vids this week you seem like a great dude! I hope your channel blows up.
    You are right it is so stressful out there that it isnt even funny but sometimes it also helps clear the mind when youre out on the open road!

    Great video and thank you for your service! I am new to hotshot ( just started this year) spent my life savings getting a truck and and trailer and equipment and made 2 runs and then my 2008 6.4 powerstroke (egr and dog deleted and only 150k miles) went down on me with a cracked #7 piston. Staring $13k to replace motor, which I don’t have nor do I have the credit to finance or get a loan. But I am still praying and staying positive for a miracle to help me fix the truck and live my dream of being a hotshot owner/operator. Hang in there with the depression, I am in same boat battling it since my early 20’s, no one understands the true hell of having real depression (not just sad because of a single event or things not going ones way) but the toll of this dark and damned feeling that destroys your quality of life due to chemicals in our brain that we cannot control. I’ll keep ya in my prayers and I am a new fan/subscriber 👍

  • @bryonsusedautos

    Yes sometimes something is better than nothing. Yes it might not have been a good rate per mile but the extra money can help pay for the weeks fuel!

    • @shipleytransport3211
      @shipleytransport3211  Před 3 lety +1

      And there’s a fine line to walk there. I never want to just pay for fuel because I still have extra maintenance on the truck and also refuse to haul something without any profit margin for myself as well. This one was borderline but still (just barely) made sense.

    Just found your channel. I have also been watching HotShot Mack for the past few days. I am in no way thinking about trucking, but I find this business so interesting and get lost for some time each day getting entertained by you guys. It also gives me a better perspective on how to treat truckers (and drive around them) when I am driving both my car and my 34ft RV. There are others on here doing the same types of videos and they only want to bash other hotshotters, so kudos to you for staying positive and only giving your opinion. Good luck in the future bud and I will keep watching.

    Hey Craig, Just stumbled across your channel. Awesome job in explaining the industry along with the pluses and minuses from the carrier's side. I recently retired early from corporate supply chain and am considering getting into the hotshot trucking business. Would you recommend finding a good used vehicle or based on the miles plus wear and tear I would be putting through, is biting the bullet and going with a new truck a better route. Any specifications you would suggest? Again, great job!

    Thank you for your tip guides and knowledge. You stated in video 5 of 5 about the mile to gross amount. I take it you are an LLC and owner operator. You still pay your income tax and social security from your gross correct? And also, when you started just delivering RV’s was there a flat rate per mile? Did you need to still pay your taxes, etc? When you only had your truck, what was a reasonable mile rate? Thank you if you have time to answer my questions
