Man this was the video I was looking for! I was having pain on the pinky side.. did some research to find out that it is because of TFCC tear. Even the doctors had recommended me other types of splint, which in turn were causing more pain. Now I know that the wrist widget is the right tool. You saved me, I was worried that i have to undergo surgery.
Thank you!!! Keep doing more such videos. : )
Messed up my wrist going through sprawl drills at Jiu Jitsu. Ulnar side pain pretty high.
Thanks for the info.
This video is old, but wow was it informative and short 10/10
God bless you Dr. for sharing with so much love. 🙏🏼🙌🏼
thanks for sharing this video doctor Scott,I just got my wrist brace this morning
Thanks! This video helped me pick a brace. I tried to catch a stock pot that was slipping on Thanksgiving and felt like I sprained it a little, nothing serious. I forgot about it and this week was helping my hubby move something down the stairs on a blanket. I insisted on helping to give resistance so he wouldnt hurt his back...lol. Well, now it hurts on the palm side of my hand directly on that meaty section right above the bend of your wrist. I can make a fist, even bend my wrist, and wiggle my fingers with very little discomfort. But I tried to open a jar and it hurts to squeeze and turn. I will give it a few days and set an appointment with my doctor if no improvement.
Thanks doc. Very useful.
Thank you for sharing helpful information!

A wrist widget! I have a "lollypop" on my wrist and in the last few weeks it's really started to hurt and I think it's the ligaments continually stretching and I'm looking for something to help reset my wrist when I can exercise it
Carpal tunnel, trigger thumb and now a TFCC tear all in my dominant hand....I probably need a cast. LOL.
I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and I have many issues with my hands and wrists.
My carpal bones in my hand sublux very easily with I pull doors ect or put any weight/push off with my hands. I also have ulnar sided wrist pain and ECU tendon snapping and just general instability In my wrists
Is there anything you would recommend? I can't find a brace that can help with all of these issues..
according to your video I have the wrong brace. I have radial thumb pain with the Sprain, and it kind of jumps out of the place when I accidentally move my hand thinking I don't have a wrist sprain for that split second. I'm mad because I've had it for like 2 weeks so far basically a week, and 3 days. It's been doing nothing but making my hand hurt worse than when I initially sprained my wrist falling. I got a doctor's appointment with the sports medicine doctor but I don't know what he's going to do. I feel like I need a orthopedic doctor
I also feel like No one's listening to how bad my wrist is actually hurting. I feel like they're down playing it when it's like terrible pain
I wish he could have put the link to where to buy these brace.

I just got into my wrist brace my doctor told me to do finger exercise should i be doing them with or without the brace?
Tendinitis and carpal tunnel syndrome both hands lucky me
Thank you Leon. My pain is on the Ulnar side, but on the palm side of the hand, right under the pisiform bone. And it only happens when supinating forearm and flexing wrist. The rest is fine.. any tips? I’ve used bracing for 4 weeks, and now switched to wrist widget
The wrist widget sounds like a reasonable tool as long as the pain didn't start from a trauma to the wrist. My rule of thumb - if pain isn't improving after three days of using a plan, then see a medical provider to assess it more completely! If you are in Nashville, consider giving my office a call. Well wishes, Santiago!
@@LeonScottMD If it's from trauma to the wrist do you not recommend a wrist widget then?
Currently wearing two wrist splints after getting lightly hit by a car on my razor scooter
