    Quick tip for anone out there! I have the problem where if I wear any brand at night it starts to bother the middle between my pointer finger and thumb. To help with this I apply Vaseline 15 minutes before hand. Then top it off with a loosely placed band aid and it will help stop the skin from getting rubbed raw. Happy healing

    I've had pain in the my thumb for years from using a computer mouse even after switching to a more ergonomic mouse. Lately, I switched to using my other hand. I think this is from a different condition that carpal tunnel.
    However, I just got back from a two week road trip where I drove over 4000 miles. Now, I do have carpal tunnel. I have been getting a very sharp pain in my palm that is like an electrical shock. My wife does a lot of typing at work and she has suffered from carpal tunnel for years. She got to the point where she had pain trying to grip the handlebars on her bicycle because of the pain. She started wearing night braces on both wrists a few years ago. The ones she wears look very similar to the Comfy brace, but they're made by Futuro.
    I am going to try the braces you recommend. I have problems with inflammation in general. I have a chronic inflammation in the back of my right heel. I started wearing a night splint and that seemed to help at first, but it hasn't helped much lately.

    I have been using a cane since I was 44 due to a massive stroke. That being said I’m fairly confident my carpul tunnel damaged or at the very least compressed tightly. At times it hurts so bad it wakes me up several times a night. Was just looking for a surgeon when i ran into this video. O yea, i am 69 now and still need to use my cane which im sure has damaged my tunnel. Anyway my left hand i can feel but I still can not use them. Basically they are dead but i still feel them. Im thinking how can i put this on my right hand and wrist without a left hand to secure it? I live alone and I have adapted to most everything, guess i just have to use my mouth & teeth right? Or have a neighbor put it on..
    I will save this video after watching it several times. Just learned surgery is a 10-15 minute procedure but if this helps much why not stay out of a knifes way right Doc? Knives

    I don't have much to do at home other then my computer. My uncle was staying over so we had to move the chair so the bed could fit. We managed to fit a stool in there, but it's pretty small, n makes me reach out and look up at my computer. Been like this for almost two full months, my wrist and back shoulder were hurting- so thanks for recommending these braces, bought them last night and they'll be here tomorrow :)

    I have the McDavis wrist splint race highly recommend I also just bought another one I had called Mall in Earls that is better because you can adjust it or more and it’s longer and it doesn’t log into basically the range is better for not doing a full fist… And then when I had is the longer one and it’s extreme Lee more rigid and fully covers the whole hand but I wish it would cover more fingers

  • @charlesedwardcheese5558

    Hi! I have a question. I got two of the ComfyBrace braces (which are AMAZING and that I 1000000% recommend!!!) but the only issue I'm having is that the padding in the palm of them gets in the way when I type or use my mouse. My job has me on the computer most of the day, and even though the pain is a lot more bearable, I'm a lot slower because of the pads getting in the way. Do the Mueller braces provide the same or a comparable amount of support? It looks thinner than the ComfyBrace, and the wire on the ComfyBrace's underside that curves under the palm is the deciding factor for me. The Mueller brace looks like the wire isn't as thick, but I can't tell if it's just the overall form of it that just makes it appear that way. Does the Mueller have the same amount of "under" wrist support as the ComfyBrace? I want to use the ComfyBraces at home and etc, but I need a smaller alternative for typing:c

    • @PTProgress
      @PTProgress  Před 4 lety +4

      Hi Alexis! The Mueller brace has a thinner profile along the front of the wrist (or anterior side) which should allow you to be closer to the keyboard for faster typing. It still has a supportive wire/structure along the front to prevent excessive movements into wrist flexion/extension. But I just put it on to try it and I don't have any issue typing at my regular speed with the Mueller brace. Thanks for your question and for giving us a mini review!

    Hi, thanks so much for the informative video! What brace do you recommend for guitar players? Specifically, for the fretting hand?

    • @PTProgress
      @PTProgress  Před 4 lety +5

      Hi Eric! I just tried playing the guitar with the comfy brace and it actually wasn’t bad. But honestly I’d recommend using kinesiology tape if you want support while playing (I have another video on tape for carpal tunnel). Otherwise, the brace would be helpful to wear anytime you’re not playing so as to reserve the stresses for playing. Obviously you want to minimize irritation in your wrist while playing, so take breaks through your session and try to avoid extreme gripping or pressure with your fretting hand. 👍

I loose it up a bit while I am at work and my wrist get hurt when I tighten it a bit my vein swells and make me feel afraid damaging my vein or get blood clot. I am not sure how to adjust without hurting my veins.
