      *_books are produced on woodchip paper. reading is murder. summarize what you read so others don't have to read. that's why i followed your channel when you were the "non-canon expert", and turned off the alarms when you became a reading club. you can use cross-cultural and cross-star wars erudition, in order to synthesize original first source material, partially also based on your own long-term research into some related field, making you even more the first source rather than merely being a second or third source. so your videos satiate curiosity and empower people, rather than make people hungry to read books. something as small as roleplaying your character makes these videos truly yours. stop being politically correct and stop fearing that you wouldn't please everyone, especially women. if you don't have enemies, then you probably never stood up for some noble ideal. show a little backbone, and stand up from your knees. your amature video design was better than the new animation, don't collaborate with random people. stand up against Disney, and in support of characters that were thrown out of canon. that was a good idea! beware of girls manipulating you through ego-stroking and through Acting, for their own Agenda. why don't you just release a video per week, or bi-weekly. but never skip an appointed date. absence creates respect. but be absent for too long and you are unreliable. however, the quality of your videos would be better if you take a whole week to make them. also people don't have time to watch CZcams daily. what i said works best in synergy, don't cherry pick, but do everything i said. get better soon._*

      *_the video was pretty good... force use is distinguished from force sensitivity. many force sensitive beings are not force users. also you list facts, but i would rather you explain how principles work. a good choice of topic. well noted that not many jedi trained in "light saber against light saber" combat. nice that you are rehabilitating Count Dooku, who is underestimated. but even here you don't bottomline a universal principle. e.g. that as martial arts become nationalized for military use, dueling declines._*

    If you are to succeed in combat against the best of the Jedi you must have fear, surprise, and intimidation on your side. For if any one element is lacking it would be best for you to retreat. You must break them before you engage them. Only then will ensure victory and have your trophy. -- Dooku to Grievous

    Neither RotS nor TCW showed just how deadly and terrifying Grievous truly was. While it seems like that was George Lucas's vision for him, I really disagree with it. I vastly prefer what we have seen in the Clone Wars micro-series and what we read in the RotS novelization by Matthew Stover, which will always put the movie to shame.
    I must also say, I really love the new intro animation and the outro screen. Real quality.

      Whoa, we are completely on the same path here IO! I was just saying on Twitter that the RotS novelization Grievous wasn't too bad, same with Labyrinth of Evil. RotS I could see, being at the end of a long war and post-Mace confrontation on Coruscant, but the Clone Wars series (2008 Canon) always felt like Grievous was a little underwhelming, at least in comparison with the other Legends stuff. Thank you for watching as always buddy, so great to be able to read comments again! :)

      ImperialistOpinions in my opinion Grievous should of never started a battle with all four lightsabers, it should be like in the micro series, where it’s only something he uses for ether quickness like when he saw Mace or something he truly needed to do. Also I feel as though the series did his personality the best.

    • @dazdavis7896
      @dazdavis7896 Před 2 lety

      Too bad the microseries was literally meant to be BLATANTLY OVER THE TOP.
      Like what do Grievous fanboys not GET about that. He absolutely cannot flip upside down and fight 4 Jedi masters with his fucking feet, one of whom being Ki-Adi Mundi. Nice try. YOUR headcanon isn’t Star Wars, he was completely overhyped in the microseries bud. Everyone knows this. Sure, he was portrayed relatively inconsistent SOMETIMES in TCW, in the 3D series, but his portrayal there is FAR more accurate and it isn’t even debatable…. Grievous was a beast, sure. But he was not in ANY way on the same level as the true master swordsmen of the era. He literally lived in the era of the greatest swordsmen in galactic history. He was not on Dooku’s level at all, Dooku literally toyed with him in their training sessions. Vader/Anakin, Yoda, Sidious, Windu, Maul, Kenobi, like the list of beings that exceed Grievous with a blade goes on and on.

      It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.

    What if Jedi could never read the thoughts of General Grievous because the implantation of his cybernetics that he was oblivious to made it so that Grievous would not think but do. That way the cybernetics would do most of the work, analyzing the opponent's stile that Grievous would barely have to do anything. What do you think of this?

    Genndy Tartakovsky's two-part TV show "Star Wars: Clone Wars" really showed how powerful, intimidating, relentless and deadly Grievous really was. For most of the fight he was more or less toying with his enemies, like a cat would toy with a caught mouse before killing it. He constantly kept changing his attacks, which repeatedly took his enemies by complete surprise. They were simply incapable of dealing with an enemy like him who did use lightsabers, but didn't adhere to any of the traditional forms completely. That and being hit by him was probably like trying to deflect a falling tree with a pool noodle.

      Well, to be fair. He was gravely injured and he refused to even seek medical attention. If he did. He would have likely bested Obi-Wan but Order 66 would have never happened. As what Clone Trooper could bring down Grievous? Other than some Order that Palpatine implanted into Grievous's head to cause him to just shut down. Which was likely and maybe why Grievous was a 'chump', as you put it. All because Palpatine had greater plans and he did not want a Droid Army.

      Because you forget that the Clone Wars was not a true war at all; just a giant smokescreen. Palpatine was pulling the strings the whole time and if he didn't want a technology developed or to see action (by either side) he would feed information to the opposition and they would destroy it. Grievous was also intended as an iconic foe to rally the Republic against so to have more than one would be counterproductive.

    I truly believe that should the Separatists had been led solely by Grievous, away from all the scheming of the Sith, then the clonewars would have been much longer and possibly the CIS would have made a deathstar at the same time, before or some time after Palpatine, who in turn might not have formed the Empire and may not have done order 66.

    First of all, love your content! You always can count with my like 👍.
    Regarding the topic of today's video. I agree with your analysis, but I still dislike the concept of grievous, specially the way he is portrayed in every piece of media. I can totally understand why Jango Fett killed so many jedi, as he is shown to use methods that counter the force powers and even martial arts. Grievous on the other hand is simply a cyborg who uses lightsabers. I understand the augmentations to his brain, body, etc. But if that is what it takes, it makes me wonder why weren't more of him out there. I know his legends story, but was him the only warrior ever to hate the jedi? I don't think so. Besides the CIS wasn't interested in any subject's well being during those operations, if it survived great, if not then just look for another one. In conclusion the reason for him to best for users (story wise) are weak at best.

      @397llederson6 Před 6 lety +1

      I don't get why it's weak though Grievous is basically one of a kind considering I can't name any Jedi haters as skilled as Grievous before his cybernetics? Besides most of the Jedi haters are dead or aren't nearly as skilled not to mention Grievous cybernetics were basically just testing material and why would people have more than one replica of a killing machine? It's the same argument on why you don't clone Jedi it's not only hard but its a bad idea if you have a limit of control over them that's why you have clones of Jango who can be controlled by Jedi while clone Jedi don't have much limits to control them

    • @erickpuma1202
      @erickpuma1202 Před 6 lety

      397 Llederson I'm sorry what? No enough jedi haters (as you describe them) have you not watch the clone wars? Not only were there multiple jedi killers, but also massive bounty hunters just willing to kill them for money or just for fun. Heck even in one of the episodes one of them say something like "who hasn't killed one (jedi) before". And that is from canon, if we go to legends there are plenty more. Not only thugs but also dark jedi. You mean to tell me that none of them would be willing to use augmentations, or even being tricked into become like grievous. The argument of cloning jedi is not the same, because cloning isn't the same as augmenting for a plethora of reasons like the time to mature, obedience, difficult of cloning, etc. (would be an essay by itself)
      That's why the reason of the existence of grievous is weak. Besides if he was just a testing material and he became so prolific at what he was created... Again, why not create more. They already have the background work, which let's assume was a shot in the dark, that was a total success. There isn't a reason why not to replicate him.
      What about Palpatine? Even if he would not replace Vader with a new grievous (refer to the canon comics for that scenario). Again why not have his inquisitors go through the process and kill jedi (by themselves) as they are supposed to. I like the design of Grievous, but his existence just makes the jedi look way more incompetent and contradicts the intention of George to portrait the "Jedi in their prime"

    • @397llederson6
      @397llederson6 Před 6 lety +1

      I have seen them and not a single one was anywhere near as skilled as Grievous was nor were they crime lords that drove species back and fought and killed jedi. Really tell me one jedi killer besides Cad Bane and Jango? The episode was the one where Obi-wan faked his death. Dude augmentation can only get you so far(Vader and Grievous are evidence for that) not to mention where are they going to get the resources and they need implants on their brains and Grievous is literally a prototype and there have been cyborgs before just not noteworthy like Grievous or a real threat. Creating cyborgs full of independent thought that could wreck armies and have genius level tactical skills? Do you understand how horribly wrong that could go? Like IDK a civil war. The inquisitors are suppose to be non threatening to him in power or skill. You realize those "incompetent jedi" solo armies every day and put up a fight or kill anyone that are basically huge threats to armies right? No to mention this is also when the Jedi's threats were just as deadly

    • @erickpuma1202
      @erickpuma1202 Před 6 lety

      397 Llederson "augmentations can only get you so far" your words and exactly my point. Besides, you mean to tell me that grievous was a tactical genius? I mean don't get me wrong, he wasn't stupid, but he wasn't clearly chosen because he was the best tactician, but rather (but not limited to) because he became a puppet for palpatine. He needed a bad fearsome guy to play villain while he gathered all the powers of the republic to his favor. Jedi were not soloing armies man, if that were true the clones would have not been necessary, nor would have they been executed by their own troops at that mass scale, but that is a different can of worms. So once again Grievous is OP and capable of killing jedi for sure. It was never my point to prove that he was lousy at his job. My point is, his existence just diminish everything else, in other words, how to defeat jedi masters at their prime? Use a cyborg without force powers is the answer weve got. Heck even look at his death! Obi Wan shot him while hanging with one arm. I know you will give me a nice "explanation" of why that happened, but still think about this. Why was no clone able to do what keno I did in that clear handicap. Things already happened on the show and movies the way they did, and he will always be a prolific jedi (incompetent jedi) killer. Oh and besides those jedi killers, what about the female bounty hunter who I legends was the padawan of the dark woman (don't remember her name), or Assaj Ventress, savage oppress, the night sisters, etc. I mean, grievous makes sense because they set him up to collaborate but that doesn't make him the only available option. Just an overly convenient pawn.

    • @397llederson6
      @397llederson6 Před 6 lety +1

      Grievous was a tactical genius you can't seriously argue against that he was a war lord that fought a species that was basically superior to them every way and despite that was kicking their ass. Tell me what kind of tactician could do that or do you think the Rebellion's leaders are also bad tacticians? Newsflash Palpatine was basically playing chess with himself and was the most clever person in that Galaxy do you want to imagine how easily he would have outsmarted our planet? Yeah but most high caliber swordsmen were soloing the armies did you not see the microseries? Clones were basically jedi killers hell their template was second to none in killing jedi but also remember that not all the Jedi saw it coming not to mention their abilities were explained to have diminished as far as sensing goes not to mention clones didn't really have killer intent or in other words feelings. Grievous existence diminishes nothing and correction bring one of the deadliest and smartest war lords in the Galaxy that is not a human with prototype cybernetics,train him with Dooku in both dueling and manipulating and watch as he wrecks the Jedi's shit that is easier than it sound. Obi-wan has the Force one of the first things explained in SW about the Force is that it helps you aim and shoot better than any computer add in the fact that Obi-wan has experience with blasters,Grievous chest was exposed and didn't have a lightsaber and was wounded by a force push that sent him flying and crashing into the equivalent of a steel wall and was hit with a electric staff and you have a dead Grievous no clone would have survived that long minus less wound him or kill him. Oh you mean Aurra Sing the bitch that lost to two near featless Jedi knight or the version of her that got wrecked by a jedi master in like 5 seconds and lost to a senator? Asajj's entire point is to never be powerful enough to help challenge Palpatine and she got wrecked by a poisoned and blind Dooku while ambushing with two nightsisters(stated to be the most skilled out of all of them),Savage was basically amped by Mother Talzin's magic to an insane degree why would they amp him more not to mention Palpatine would have found out and killed both him and Dooku,you mean the same nightsisters that got wrecked by the stupid,incompetent and idiotic droids and barely put a dent in them? Also remember the Separatist were never supposed to win the war and it's still a bad idea

    It’s *Ka (Kuh) ‘Sim (Seem)*
    And it was 12, 12 strikes a second. 3 rotations/swings with each limb.
    ALSO, Dooku was NEVER “surpassed by Mace” not even close. He literally used to defeat Windu all the time before he left the order. BEFORE he became even stronger after falling ti the darkside and learning how to unleash his rage under Sidious. Like it isn’t even debatable Windu would’ve gotten clapped by Dooku if they actually fought a full 1v1 bout. He clapped him multiple times before he even became a dark lord.
