Gorgeous! I would love a matching belt tutorial!
Thank you, and noted on the tutorial! 👌🏼
@@tashacouldmakethat I agree! Can’t wait for the belt tutorial! 😍
Yes please!! A tutorial for a matching belt!!
Noted!
"It takes a while, but it's worth it." yassss! probably my favorite thing you said in this video!
Thank you!! A mantra I repeat about a lot of things I think. 😜
All the tutorials! Just excellent!
Thanks, glad you think so!
I would love a matching belt tutorial.
Gorgeous dress.
Noted, and thank you!
Amazing!!! I would also love to see a matching belt tutorial!
Thanks, got it!
Such a cute dress! Would love a belt tutorial 🥰
Thanks, and noted on the belt tutorial!
You are so inspiring! I would love to see you make a matching belt tutorial.
So nice of you to say, thank you! And tutorial will be coming up at some point in the future, lots of interest. 😊
Gorgeous dress and I loved your sew along video too. I love to see on your channel a in depth lapsed zip tutorial and how you make your belts 😍
Thank you so much! And noted on future tutorials.
You’re a natural at this Tasha - so enjoyed your process. Would love to see a belt making and walking foot tutorial.
Thanks so much!
So sweet!!! A tutorial on a matching belt?
Yes, please!!!
Definitely going to do it!
I love a “wintery but not Christmassy” fabric!! I find it so relaxing to watch others sew and it was really cool to see the mashup.
I loooove set-in sleeves but this makes me want to give cut-on a try. And thanks for keeping it real and leaving in the parts where the seam ripper came out 😄
Thanks Laurie!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, it was a little nerve-wracking doing the first one. And you know me, I'm not going to hide anything. 😜
A vote for a matching belt tutorial and another one for pattern matching 😅.
Great video, learned a lot new tricks to try 💖
Thank you, happy to pass along some new tricks too!
The dress is so beautiful and the fabric very pretty like all Charlotte's designs. I too would love to see a tutorial about matching belts, especially covering buckles without a kit! 😘
Thanks so much! Her designers are great. Noted on the tutorial, I do use a kit for the buckle blank (unless I'm using a vintage buckle), and use purchased belting for the stiffness of the belt, but not a whole belt kit, so may or may not be what you're looking for. 😊
Would love a matching belt tutorial, and print/plaid matching tips!
Got it, those will definitely be subjects of future videos! 😊
Love the tip for putting the ruler inside the dress for pinning the overlap! Will definitely be using that one! (Also, another vote for belt tutorial 😊)
Glad it was helpful!!
_It has pockets!_ Thats allllll that matters! 😄 Well, pockets and pattern matching anyway.
That is so pretty. It looks absolutely lovely on you.
Yay for pockets! 😁 Thanks!
Beautiful sew! Love your Bernina! Also would love the tutorial on the matching belt! ❤
Thanks so much! Love my Bernina too, she's a champ. 🥰 I'll be doing a belt tutorial in the future!
I'd love a zip tutorial. I recently did a lapped zipper for the first time. I will admit it wasn't the neatest sewing I've done! I'd also love a belt tutorial. I really love the 1930s when self fabric belts were popular. Love your channel by the way!
Thanks so much! Noted on the tutorials! I find in general zippers take some time, and even still I sometimes bungle it up a bit, but have enough of a routine down that they usually go pretty smoothly.
Great dress, great fabric…sooooo cute! Loved the tutorial and yes to any and all tutorials you may be interested in doing!
I sew a lot, but I always learn new things watching other makers.
Thanx so much! Great job!
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! Look for some tutorials in the future from me. 😊
Thank you for the grown on sleeve hack tutorial!
You are so welcome, I hope you find it helpful sometime!
Absolutely gorgeous. I was born in 1954. This style of pattern is similar to what my mum wore (she is now 96 living with dementia). I have always loved that style and it brings back lots of lovely memories. ❤️🌺
Thank you! I'm glad for it to help bring back some nice memories. 🥰
You are such a delightful human! 10 out of 10 would watch a belt tutorial
Thank you!! 🥰 I'll definitely be doing a belt tutorial at some point in the future!
“If my methods make you cringe, then look away now!” And I spit out my coffee laughing at that one! But this is exactly how I ‘morph’ (Frankenstein) my patterns too; a successful result mostly every time. Even the less successful morphs result in a wearable product. Something is learned every time. Love your channel! Your dresses are just so adorable!
Yes it's always a learning process along the way, even if it's less successful! Thanks so much for the kind words too. 🥰
I really like the color and would love a tutorial on the belt
Noted, thanks!
Love this dress on you! The seafoam contrasts your hair in the best wintery way~
Thank you!! I love that color so much, I have such a hard time finding fabrics in colors I actually want to wear, so I often settle for next best or a great print, but this happened to be both. Yay!!
Yes! Matching belt tutorial!
Noted, thanks!
So cute! I would love a belt tutorial and any other sewing secrets you are willing to share! I am beginning sewing again after a 20+ year hiatus ❤️
Awesome, welcome back into sewing! I learned to sew with my mom when I was younger and then picked it up again briefly in my late 20s, and then really jumped in maybe a decade later. It's the best!
Oh my god! Love it! Please please please show us how you make matching belts 😍😍🙏🏼
Thank you! I'll be doing a belt tutorial at some point in the future for sure. :)
You’ve just won a new fan! Love your style! Would love to see your tutorial on how you make the matching belts, please please please! Thank you so much!
Thanks for being a new fan! 😊 I'll definitely do a matching belt tutorial in the future, lots of requests for it!
Oh yes would love a tutorial on how you make your belts please x
Noted, thanks!!
Yes, belt tutorial, please! 😍😍
Noted, coming soonish!
Looking forward to a matching belt tutoriel.
Coming soonish! 😁
This is such a clever way to pattern hack! Love it. Also I'm now obsessed with your scissors to grade seam allowances. I live in fear of cutting something I shouldn't when doing that! lol Annnnnnnddddd...the quilting ruler trick is brilliant. Video #2 and you're already changing my world.
Yessss those scissors are so helpful! I mean don't get me wrong I still double check about 100 times to make sure I'm not cutting anything behind because I too have that fear. 😂 So glad you enjoyed the video! 🥰
Yes to matching belts, Yes to in depth zip tutorial. Thanks Tasha, absolutely loving your channel. X Debbie x
Yay! Thank you!
Super special dress!! I am head over heels in love with the fabric and the dress is just perfect!! You look amazing! I would love to see you show on how you make belts. It would be great! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us!! Your channel is going to be so much fun to watch. I am a Northshore Neighbor, and it's completely conservative where I live. It's great to see someone who loves vintage sewing and embraces the lifestyle. Thanks again!! =:)
Thanks so much on the compliments on the channel and the dress!! I stick out like a sore thumb in lots of cases but I don't care, I love what I love. Though I definitely do a bit more casual "dress down" vintage too. 😁
Oh I’d love the belt tutorial too!
Good to know, thanks!
Awesome. Can you do a zipper tutorial, how you finish the top with the facing. Your tutorial is awesome!!
You have the perfect figure for that vintage fabric dress. 👗 I am 77 years old but way back when I wore dresses like this one and made many of them. The zipper technique was to sew the entire back seam and use a long basting stitch from where the bottom of the zipper would be to the top. Then pin the zipper, centered by under the basting stitches, and sew down the zipper tape cross over the seam, stitch up the other side and remove the basting thread. (Whew!!) I like your method a whole lot better 😊😊 Zippers are one reason I switched to making quilts!! Thank you.
Thanks!! I've actually done center back zippers that way but it's a looong zipper to do that way. 🤣 I like that method for shorter side or back zippers for skirts and pants. I'll eventually do a full tutorial on the way I do them for dresses (the method on this video) though!
Love the dress, and yes please to a belt tutorial!
Coming soon at some point!
That is a super cute dress! I would love to see a matching belt tutorial! I'm getting into vintage sewing using patterns from the 1960s and 1970s and was thinking about using the extra material I usually have left over to make matching belts.
Yes, it's a great use of leftover fabric! I mean not much leftover fabric I suppose, since it's just a belt, lol. But love to maximize my yardage!
Love the dress and yes plrase show more detail on the sewing of the belt and the lapped zipper. Looking forward to seekng many more great tutorials ftom you. Andrea from South Africa💖🌻💖
Thank you, and noted on the future details for other videos! 😊
I adore a sewing process video and this one takes the cake!
Aww thanks so much!!
Yes to all the suggested future videos, please! The dress turned out super cute.
Thank you!!
It's so perfect with your fuzzy white cardigan!!! 😍
YES!!! I had that combo in my head when I was knitting it. 🥰
Your pattern matching has been a source of inspiration for me for years. Thank you for sharing your techniques.
Thank you so much! 🥰
The finished dress ended up so cute! It's always fascinating to me to see how slightly differently sewists around the world do their sewing - I went to trade school here in Australia for commercial sewing and I watch a lot of historical sewing people and we're all very slightly different. I am with you on the hemming - so many of the historical sewing people enjoy hand sewing and...I'm just not that big on it! And yet I sew so many things with buttons and then I have to hand sew the buttons on, and then there's all the hems and the hand-tacking down facings and blah blah blah. Anything I can do on the machine I will, but there's just some things where it doesn't work, so I get a podcast and force my way through it. I do a lot of set-in sleeves but I do love a grown-on sleeve. Avoids that awful armhole/sleeve seam entirely!
Thanks so much! Yes, I love seeing how everyone approaches things a little bit differently. It's like watching people's inner (sewing) minds at work! I don't mind a bit of hand sewing here and there (except attaching hooks and bars, omg, hate that), but I'm all for doing what I can on the machine!
Yes to all of the tutorials!! Especially the pattern matching 😍
You got it!!
Oh my gosh! This is gorgeous! You look just like Cathy Keating from Grantchester!!
Great video, all the things you asked if we'd like to see in future videos, I'd like to see please.
Noted, thanks!!
This is a adorable dress. I love how you demonstrate the entire process. Would love to learn about the belt.
Thank you! Since this video, I've done a full belt making tutorial, you can check it out! czcams.com/video/jnDx5ly5lNA/video.html
Matching belt tutorial please, just finishes everything a belt love it.
Here's the link to my belt tutorial! 😊 czcams.com/video/jnDx5ly5lNA/video.html
Yes on belts! We also need to know the name/pattern of the blue sweater you’re wearing…😊
Okay since I’m not wearing a blue sweater I’m guessing either it was a typo for boucle or you meant my sewing room tour video so I’ll answer for both. 😂 The white boucle is just something I designed for myself. The blue bolero is my Confidette pattern. 😊
So cute! Keep up the amazing content - and would love to see a belt tutorial
Thank you! Will do!
What fun to watch! You have truly perfected the fit in your bodice for theses dresses:) I really like using the vintage cut on sleeve patterns in all my dresses. Much easier to fit for us larger busted ladies. Thank you sharing.
You’re welcome and thanks! That’s one of the reasons I like that cut of sleeve.
What a lovely dress. Would love to see the belt tutorial
Got it, thanks!
So interesting, and ultra-professional quality video!
Thank you very much!
Yes please! BELT TUTORIAL ..What a great job!! The fabric is so cute. You are adorable. I didn't know what a sew on sleeve was (I'm new ) I just orderd fabric from spoonflower too. I can't wait to use it!🧵🪡👗
Thank you so much!! Ooh hope you love the Spoonflower fabric you got, bet it's fun!
Loved this hack and am going to start it tomorrow! I would love a video about using the walking foot to do the lapped zipper. You are awesome and I am grateful for everything you are willing to share and teach us!
Thanks for the kind words! I do plan to do a lapped zipper tutorial at some point. :)
@@tashacouldmakethat Thank you!!! I am looking forward to it!💓
Love your style! The Closet Historian recommended you, and here I am 😊🥰
Yay! Thank you for stopping by!
I love watching you sew and I subscribed and watched 4 videos in a row. Now it's WAAAY past my bedtime. Lol.
So I am grateful for all I'm learning and the relaxing and entertaining content.
Looking forward to more, but time for some shut eye. 😴💤💤
Welcome to my channel and thanks for the nice comments, even if I ended up a source of a somewhat sleepless night as a result! 😂😂
Great video! Yes please to belt tutorial 😀
You got it, coming soonish!
Really beautiful! I would love a matching belt tutorial too!😍
Coming soonish! Thanks! 😊
It’s been a while since I frankenpatterned I don’t remember it going that well. I will have to rewatch this before trying again
I Frankenpattern things together a lot, it's one of my favorite things to do!
Hi, thank you so much for sharing this video. Absolutely loved it and yes would love to see how you make the belt.
Thanks so much! There's been lots of interest on a belt tutorial so I'll do that in the future!
I came here from The Closet Historian as she mentioned your lapped zipper method. Now subscribed :)
Awesome! Thank you so much!
Okay um that zipper method I need to try it, I'd love a full video on it
Noted, I'll do a zipper tutorial sometime!
@@tashacouldmakethat same….I read it in Gertie’s book but couldn’t wrap my head around it. Your finish was so neat that I’m ready to throw out all my invisible zips!
I'd love a belt tutorial!
Coming at some point! :)
And such a good neckline for you!
Thank you! It also lays pretty flat under a cardigan, which not all necklines do!
Your dress is gorgeous, Tasha! I would love to see you go into more detail about pattern matching, as I tend to shy away from using some prints because I'm not sure how to line them up.
Thanks so much! I love prints so much, and I'll definitely be covering some of my pattern matching tips in the future. 😊
Bianca at The Closet Historian sent me here, and I've subscribed. Both of you are women after my own heart.
Thanks so much for subscribing! Happy to have you here.
@@tashacouldmakethat Oh, yes: a belt tutorial would be great. I've made them but in complete isolation, so I'd love to see how others do it.
I love Tuppence Ha'penny's work, and think you did a great job showing it off to its best advantage!
Thank you! ❤️ The yarn bowls you made it her fabric are across the room from me. 😁
Just lovely!! I am totally going to try this and would love to hear your lapped zipper and belt making tips❤
Thanks so much! And noted on the tutorials. 😊
Love this video, great pattern hacking idea, this is just the type of video I love watching.❤❤😊😊
I'm so glad! Happy you enjoyed it!
This is encouraging cause I wanted to do this to add a collar to a dolman bodice, so this makes me feel less like I’m crazy for wanting to! I’d love a plaid matching video! ❤ and matching belt! The dress turned out adorable 🎉
Not crazy at all, sounds like a fun idea! Enjoy! And thanks for the suggestions, those are all things I'll be hopefully doing in the nearish future. 😊
Beautiful dress! That was a great tutorial, so clear and informative. I'm really looking forward to seeing your next videos 😊
Glad you enjoyed it and that it was helpful!
I would like to know more about using a walking presser foot while inserting a zipper. I have been tempted to use mine.
I'll consider a dive into the walking foot in the future then, thanks for the suggestion!
The dress is so cute!! I loved the video. You make sewing seem fun and I appreciate all the tips and tricks you shared. I learned a lot.
Sewing IS fun I find... well except when I'm seam ripping. 😂 Thank you!!
I would love to know how you do your matching belts!
Got it, will do in the future sometime!
I'd really really like to see your belt tutorial. I've been wondering if they're something I could make for a while now
Lots of interest for that so will definitely do in the future!
I do this all the time & now tonight , thanks for this fun video ❤️🙂👍
Thanks!! ☺️
Excellent work!!! Enjoyable to watch!
Thanks so much!!
I loved this video the dress is beautiful and I would really like to see how you made the belt ❤
Thanks so much! Noted on the belt tutorial!

I like the way you do your zippers, I’ll try it out on my next project.
Definitely give it a try!
Really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing this with us! I would love to sew a step-by-step on how you sew your lapped zippers. And would also love to see how to make a matching belt. Love your honesty and sense of humour. New sub here. Sending best wishes from Down Under 🥳💖💐🌸🌺🇦🇺😎

You are so welcome, thanks for watching them! 🥰
I just stumbled onto your video and it couldn't have come at a better time. I'm helping my daughter sew a vintage-style dress and we moved the side zip to a back zip but I wanted a good way to sew that in and your tips were so helpful. Going to check out Gertie's book for all the instructions. Beautiful dress!!
