Welcome! So happy (and more than a little nervous!) to kickoff my channel. What kinds of things might you like to see me on this channel? I’d love to hear your ideas, and your encouragement! ❤
I love this❣️ I never thought of using a rotary cutter for cutting out a garment. What brand is it ❓😍
@@ritag2734 I love using a rotary cutter! I may do a video on it someday! I have a few and all are good: Olfa, Gingher, and Fiskars. :)
Hello! I’m interested in moving into your basement 😂
I think the lighting is pretty great for a basement in Chicago during winter. I don’t think I would ever leave.
I just purchased your Fortesse pattern as I realized I really wanted to take my wardrobe into a vintage direction. I used to be more adventurous with my fashion while I was a teenager/young 20something and I wondered why I ever moved away from the vintage style. Fortesse will be my first vintage inspired pattern I knit!
I’m looking forward to more videos from you!
Shall I setup a listing on Air BNB for it? 😂 Actually my dad stayed in my sewing area when he remodeled our kitchen, I imagine that was a trip for him. 🤣 Thanks for buying Fortesse, I really hope you love knitting it!! ❤️
What a happy studio! I think everyone needs a Department of Glitter ❤
I feel like particularly you do! 😁✨
I'm so excited that you've joined us here on the CZcamss!! 😽 I'm here for any and all of the creative fun journeys you wanna take us on. Also you've now convinced me I need to make table skirts for my sewing room area.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome!! And I for one am SO excited for your new relaunch coming soon, I can't wait! 💖 (And also YES, an excuse to put more novelty print in your life? Make a sewing table skirt!)
Congratulations! 🥳🍾🥂 As someone who's been following you for over a decade, I'm really excited to see you in long-form video! I would love to see into your sewing journal, your pattern stash, your projects. Anyway, welcome to CZcams!
Thanks so much for sticking around all this time! 🥰 And thanks for the suggestions, in fact it gave me an idea for a potential post to show off all my past coat projects, since it's winter (up here anyway). 😊
Oh my goodness! I’ve been a fan of your blog for years and years, and I’m so excited to see you on CZcams! Your studio is utterly delightful. Your presentation is warm and authentic, and I can’t wait to see what you chose to share. The kitten box!!!!! And the pink ribbon container, which I really wanted a better look at.
(And just because I’m a total nerd, I’ll mention that I’m knitting a 1940s pullover out of oddball leftover yarn.)
Thanks so much!! I think I got the pink containers for the ribbons from Michael's several years ago, I was really lucky that pink and aqua were "in" for containers at the time I was designing everything, since they were 2 of my primary theme colors. Your knitting project sounds great!
Hi, so lovely to see you on CZcams. Loved the tour of your sewing room. Can’t wait for your next video. Must have a look at your new knitting pattern it looks really nice. Take care.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
You are adorable and just the boost of talent & fun energy that we all need. I’m dusting off my sewing machine and will be watching. Great job!
Thank you, I appreciate it! 🥰
Thank you for the splendid tour! I love seeing how other people organize their craft spaces-how is this not an HDTV thing yet?? Thanks for joining the CZcams and providing us with more fun and informative Tasha content!🧶✂🪡
Oh now wouldn't THAT be a great TV show?! Drool-worthy. Thanks for the welcome here!! ❤️
I'm so pleased you've started on CZcams! It's a lot of work but I find it more rewarding than Instagram or blogging. You've been a massive inspiration to me over the years with your vintage projects and I frequently return to old blog post of yours for guidance. Good luck! 💚
Thank you so much for the wecome here!! Glad to hear your side of things in terms of finding it rewarding, too. Awww I so appreciate the kind words about the inspiration. 😭 ❤️
O.M.G. ! Your sewing studio is #GOALS!!!! Bright, cheery & colorful. Thanks for sharing your great ideas !
P.s. Closet Historian sent me ! ;)
Thank you so much, I really love the space!
Ignore my earlier comments requesting sewing room tour. Ive even already watched this video, although I was pregnant at the time and pregnancy brain is a thing. Now I'm going to watch this again, thanks!
I loved seeing the full room! So cool to see all the bits a pieces in context to one another finally. “Department of Mysteries” was my favorite surprise.
I finally made good on my "someday" reply to folks on Instagram who'd ask for a sewing room tour. 😂 I did later realize I mentioned the Department of Mysteries but forgot the Department of Cuckoo Clocks. Another time!
Ha Tasha, great to see you on CZcams! Loved the tour in your craft room. So happy to hear and see you with your lovely projects. I follow your blog /insta for many years, probably 11 or so and learned a lot from your vintage jeans tutorials. What always stayed in my memory was your gorgious elephants sweater, boy do I love to knit it! I remember you saying that you would never reveal the pattern but is it also something to reconsider? I am keeping mt fingers crossed, hihi. Congrats with this new journey!💝
Glad you enjoyed the tour! Boy I had to really dig back into the depths of my memory banks, I think you're talking about a sweater I knit about 13 years ago, and I just kind of merged an elephant chart that I tinkered with, with a vintage sweater pattern so there's no actual pattern for it. But looks like I'd posted the chart on my Ravelry project page so you could check that out. :) www.ravelry.com/projects/TashaCould/pink-elephants-on-parade
This was super helpful. I’m currently in the process of setting up a sewing space for my daughter consisting of several Rubbermaid bins of sewing equipment I inherited from my mom. Was having trouble knowing where to start.
Thanks! I have absolutely been there. When I was planning the space, I spent a LOT of time on the IKEA web site just trying to figure out what I could do to contain things in a better way than the Rubbermaid bins, random dresser, and stuff piled on stuff which I was doing before. Really happy with the results, several years on. :)
I think Ikea should give sewing folks a "surprise" discount when we buy all the stuff for a sewing table, lol ! 😆
Yay, so thrilled to see this new chapter in your crafting/creative journey, Tasha! Your blog has been a massive source of help and inspiration to me through the years, really excited to see what you do with this channel!
Thank you so much Jessie, I appreciate the support! ❤️ It'll be a learning curve to figure out how to convey things in a new media (and while I'm used to Instagram stories wow, filming for YT is not the same 😂) but I'm really excited to see what I can do!
I’d love a look at your favorite fabrics in your stash!! ❤
Noted for the future! 😊
A dream come true! I can’t wait to hear more about your modern vintage life. I love the conversational style.
Thank you so much! :)
Welcome to you tube we are delighted to have you
And I'm delighted to be here, thank you!
Here because of The Closet Historian! I have a feeling it's going to be fun!
Awesome glad to have you here, I hope it'll be fun too! 😄
I adore your work space. It looks like my kitchen. I have a house built in 54 and the original owners never did any upgrades to it. So we mostly restored rather than remodeled. It’s very cozy and reminds me of my childhood.
My house was built in 1953! Our kitchen was remodeled by the previous owner in the 90s, so we renovated it a couple of years ago but in a retro and modern mashup. The one original item that I loved that the previous owners hadn't removed was the scalloped valance over the window in front of the sink, which we kept when we redid the cabinets. I love that 50s feature. 🥰 Here's the blog post I wrote about it: tashacouldmakethat.com/2021/06/our-great-1950s-kitchen-renovation-reveal/
As a decade long reader of your blog I am thrilled to see you on CZcams. Maybe it'll even give me the courage to try knitting again!
Thanks so much, happy to be here! You should definitely try knitting again. 😉
I used to follow your blog and enjoyed reading all about your sewing space. It’s wonderful to find you on here now.
Oh thank you!
YAY for getting a new channel going! Your joy in what you do is obvious, and it will be such fun to follow along.
YAY indeed! ❤️
I’ve been following you on social media FOREVER and am so HAPPY to see you on CZcams!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much!!
I’m here because Bianca says to 😂( the closet historian)
welcome to the world of CZcams. Best wishes on your new channel 🎉
Well thank you so much for coming here, and the best wishes! 🥰
I would love a tour of your fabric stash or of your favorite sewing projects :-)
I'll keep it in mind, thanks! 😊
This made my day, Tasha! I’ve been a longtime follower of yours on insta and this is a great companion to that platform. Looking forward to seeing more. Congrats!
So kind of you to say, thank you for following along!
This is fantastic! Just the sort of thing I really enjoy watching. And! the perfect length. I love your sewing space♥️♥️♥️Thanks for the tour and inspiration!
So glad you enjoyed the tour and hope you'll find more inspiration on my channel as I grow!
I really enjoyed your first video, you seem very comfortable in front of the camera. Your partner's paintings are very cool
Thank you!
So nice to see you on YOuTube!! What an absolutely dreamy sewing/making space! It is my dearest hope to have a space like yours one day:) in fact, definitely inspiring me to work with the little space I have and make it more functional. Very interested in learning more about making resin jewelry if that is ever a video you are interested in making❤and excited for mash ups and hacks:)
Thank you!! 🥰Also I'll keep the resin jewelry in mind!
Such a happy place! Enjoy....and thanks for letting us have a peep!❤
Thanks, my pleasure!
Great studio tour. Love the "matchy" colors & all your solutions to maximize efficiency when you are actually working, Looking forward to seeing you in action :-)
Thank you Daphne! ❤️❤️ I love having everything organized after years of just so-so ways and spaces for dealing with craft supplies. Added bonus is when I'm strewing things all around while actually working on a project, it's so much easier to clean up afterwards and move onto something else!
Your sewing studio is to die for!! I love that you have departments of glitter and mystery. I really like what you’re doing on this channel. Best of luck with it🥰
Thank you! It's funny because I didn't think of it in terms of having departments of glittery and mystery but that is so me. 😂
Your sewing space is so dreamy and SO inspirational. Watching this also made me realize I've been following your work for a long time, as I remember when you built your cutting table! Congrats on the new channel and welcome to CZcams. Maybe you'll inspire me to step up my CZcams game. 😀
Thank you!! You know, when I went to find the cutting table blog post I couldn't believe it was almost 6 years ago that I redid my sewing area! So definitely been awhile if you've followed me since then-- thank you for that! 😊
This was such a great video! You gave me some good ideas for my own sewing room. Great job! I’d love to see how you make those fabulous buttons and belt buckles in resin at some point. Cheers!!
Thank you!! I've contemplated doing a resin and silicone mold making tutorial someday, so you may just see that at some point!
Love the tour! I've always been fascinated seeing how people set up their creative spaces but now I can actually collect real inspiration since I have a sewing space for the first time
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it and hope it helped give you some inspiration for your space too!
I’m not a productive seamstress or crafter but loved viewing your video! I admire your love of your work space, organization, and artistic vibe. Best wishes with your growing outreach!
Thanks so much!
Loved the video and thank you for studio tour! Your lay out is very efficient and I love all the little things that personalize your space. I can't wait to see what you come out with next!
Thank you! I love the efficiency too. The personalized touches though I think are part of why this makes this space so happy to me!
So happy to see you in YT I have been an Instagram fan for years. I say "yes please! " to having a walk through of your vintage fabric.🙂
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!!
What a great introductory video - you're a natural! Your sewing space looks both cozy and functional. I've been following you for ages and you are truly an inspiration! Looking forward to video number two. 😊
Thanks so much for the kind words!!
So nice to see you here on CZcams. I’ve been following your blog for years! I remember when you set up that sewing space.
Thanks Vicki! Ooh yes then that's quite a long time, I was surprised when I went back to my blog to get the link for my post on the cutting table, how long ago I did up this space!
Amazing, I can’t wait to see what other videos will come to your channel. Congrats on your first video on CZcams 🎉
Hopefully more from me in the next few weeks! Thanks so much!!
Congratulations on your first ep!! What a wonderful introduction to your sewing studio, I’m entirely envious. It looks like a real treasure trove and that cutting desk is heaven. 🎉🎉
Thank you!! I love that cutting table in particular so much. Except when what I need is on the other side. Which seems to happen more than you'd think. 😂
Fabulous setup!!! I would love sewing and creating in that space 😍
Thanks!! I really do love creating in this space so much!
What a fabulous sewing space! I loved having a nosey around 🕵♀😀 And you've inspired me to bring my globe lamp into my sewing room too - I hadn't thought to do that and it's the perfect solution for me. Looking forward to future videos!
Thanks so much, Marie! 🥰 Ooh you should definitely put your globe lamp in your sewing room! I really wanted some kind of lamp for that corner of my table, and I've always adored vintage globe lamps so when I came up with the travel thing it all just clicked into place. It's so warm and cheerful!
So excited to see you on CZcams Tasha. Lovely first video that has completely inspired me to upgrade my sewing space. Looking forward to your next video. No pressure of course! 😊
Thank you so much! Glad to help inspire you for your space. 😊
Such a wonderful video, I’m so excited you’re on CZcams! ❤
Thank you, glad you're excited!!
Yay! So glad you’re here!
Thank you, I am too!!
Wow so happy I have found this channel, I am so interested in all things vintage sewing but I am not great at knitting but would love a knit along. I am so excited about this channel it is just what I have been looking for. Thank you so much for joining YT I know i will learn a lot. Cheers Tricia Australia
Wonderful, thanks for being here, hope you'll enjoy it!
I am so glad you started a YT channel! Love your sewing space.
Thank you so much!
So good to see you on here! CZcams is hard, unfortunately - just purely from a "how do I talk to the camera without my voice giving out" and "argh editing" and "the camera recorded everything blurry" perspective, so I commend you for joining it! I've loved your blog for a very long time - my wife is also a big fan and is eager to knit your new patterns. I would love to have my own sewing space - so far I sew in a bedroom and so it's mostly just lifting the sewing machine on and off the table whenever I need the table for anything else and walking into another room to iron - but I'm moving in two weeks (to a whole other country) and we'll have room for our crafts! I'm so excited - although the move is from Australia to Finland so I'm going to have to get used to the dark.
Thank you!! Since I got Invisalign it also means I make a few weird noises when I begin sentences after a pause, so that's been interesting trying to edit around too, ha ha. Thanks so much for following my adventures over here now, too! Sounds like a big challenge ahead for re-doing your sewing space, but what fun too.
Welcome to CZcams, I found your channel from the Closet Historian's channel and I am so excited to see what you do next! I am a very ambitious beginner and so I need all the help I can get to both be creative and be productive XD
Thanks for tuning in! Being an ambitious beginner at sewing is fun time, so much ahead of you to learn and play with! I wish you all the best on your sewing journey and hopefully you'll learn a thing or two around here or at least have fun watching. ☺️
Wow I ❤ your sewing room, so practical and pleasing to the eye also!
Welcome to CZcams, great to see another vintage style vlogger 🎉
Thank you so much, glad to be a part of things here now! 😊
So glad you’ve started a channel. I really enjoyed the tour of your sewing space and I would definitely like a peak in your sewing book and a look at your vintage fabric. Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you so much, Katie! 💖 I'll definitely have to do a sewing chat(s) about my notebook and fabrics someday.
So inspired and you are so captivating and fun to listen to!!
Aww, thank you! :)
Bianca sent me here! So excited for your content and look forward to watching it all!
I absolutely love sewing room tours so I think this is the perfect kick-off video 🙂
I have a question: what did you use for the cutting mat? (Edit: never mind, I see you posted a link to the project!)
Lastly, It would be really cool to learn more about your resin jewelry, too!
Thanks so much!! The cutting mat is pretty good considering how much I sew but it's definitely not perfectly self healing. But for a custom cut it really couldn't be beat!! Will definitely consider a resin jewelry post or two. 😊
So happy to see you here! Your sewing room has always been my inspiration. We have the same taste!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm so glad my sewing space has inspired you. I always love seeing other people's spaces when we have similar taste, it's almost like poking into another side of your own brain. 😊
Coming from your instagram stories and loving them a lot. I like just following your style and descriptions how you sew and choose your clothes.
Thanks so much 😊
I have followed you on Instagram since 2015, so it’s lovely to see your new channel. ❤
Awww thanks for following me here too!
Just love that blue shrug on you! That is definitely your color.
Oh thank you!
So glad I found you! I can’t see but always wanted to so I watch for the joy of seeing others sew. Love your studio!
Oh thank you so much!!
I LOVE your crafting space!! So happy to see you joining CZcams!! I wish you much success here Tasha!! 💕
Thank you so much!!
I absolutely love your channel. Your aesthetic is beautiful and being able to sew my own vintage styles clothing is what got me started during lockdown, I haven’t stopped. I know there’s a lot of work for you creating your content but please keep it coming, it brings me great joy x
Thank you so much! It is a ton of work but (mostly) enjoyable. 🥰
Jennifer Elise and Bianca (The Closet Historian) send me here and im really glad they did, cant wait all goodies you have for us 🤗🍬
Thanks so much for taking their advice! Hope you'll have fun here. 😁
I am so glad to see you here, i have found your sewing hacks on instagram so helpful and i am looking forward to learning more.
So glad you've found my content helpful on Instagram and hopefully you'll enjoy it over here too! ☺️
Such amazing organization AND you know where everything is! Congrats on the journey
Thank you so much!! I love that everything has a place, I can make it a tornado during a project and then clean up quickly. 😁
You have a beautiful and cheery space! I’m happy to see you on CZcams! Cheers.
Thanks!! I wanted to really amp up the bright and fun nature of the space particularly since it's in the basement. It brings me so much joy every time I look at it!
Oh my gosh your sewing area is super amazing!
Thank you, I do love it!!
This was so much fun!!!!
Thank you!! 🥰
Yay! I’m loving this so much! Can’t wait to see your next video.
Yay, thank you!
I’m excited!! Thanks for sharing your sewing studio. I’m currently organizing my sewing closet and seeing other spaces helps me visualize potential.
Thanks, so glad you liked it! Seeing what others did definitely help me realize what I did and didn't want out of my space.
Love your sewing studio. Love the colors and the whole feel. Would love to have a space like that for my sewing area. I can’t complain. My space is functional but it’s not how I’d honestly like it. Maybe one day it’ll be exactly what I want.
Thanks! I had very non-functional or sorta-function spaces for a long time, always hoping to someday really have a space the way I wanted it. It was fun to daydream about it in the meantime though! Hopefully one day yours will be exactly what you want. 😊
Loved the sewing studio, looking forward to your future videos ❤😊
Thank you!!
WELCOME TO CZcams!!! i'm so excited that youtube suggested your video to me and i can't wait to see your content! someday i hope to be doing this very thing...i'm a multi-crafter and really would enjoy sharing my love for my 15-ish hobbies with other people! i hope your channel does fantastic and takes off!
Thanks so much for the warm welcome!! And I'm likewise excited CZcams suggested my video to you! Multi-crafters unite! 🙌🏼
I loved watching this Tasha, can't wait to see what you'll make next! 😍
Thank you!!
I adore your studio! Our son lives in Brookfield, so I understand the gloomy and dark! He leaves for work in the dark and gets home in the dark...but spring is on its way, right?! Love your enamel top table! Thanks so much for sharing; it was fun hearing your speak and explain your set up.
Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed the video!
Oh my goodness, I love your craft room! Can’t wait to see more episodes! 🧵🪡🧶
Thank you so much, hope you'll enjoy the channel! ☺️
Yay! I’m glad you made the leap. You’re so natural in front of the camera.
Looking forward to learning more about vintage fashion with you ❤!
Thank you so much!!
very happy you're on youtube, have loved your instagram content for years! excited to see more!
Awesome, thanks for following me over here too!
I have a shopping tote bag made from Kath Kidston London print fabric! Recognised it straight away, was a gift from a friend who went to UK for a holiday :)
Oh very cool, that's a great print isn't it! Fun that you have a bag in it. ☺️
Loved the tour you managed to make a lovely corner to work in. Looking forward to learning more about you and your hobbies
Thanks so much! 😊
Congratulations on starting your channel. I really enjoyed seeing your studio!
Thank you so much!
Welcome to Cos Tube. Looking forward to seeing what you create. Enjoy the process. Cheers!
- Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Thank you!
I'm excited about your projects. I love your esthetic 😀
Thank you so much!
So happy to see you!
Thank you!
I loved the tour. I grew up in PA, but have lived in TX for more than 25 years. They don't build Basements where I am and I miss them!!! I am looking forward to your future adventures, including the knitalong.
Oh I would miss basements too, I always forget some areas don't have them! And thank you!
I've admired your work on Ravelry for years, so I am SUPER STOKED to see you here!!! 🧶🪡🧵💙
Aww yay, well thank you so much, glad to have you here!
I adore your sewing space!! Thanks for sharing!!! Glad I found your channel!❤️😍💝
Welcome, so glad you found my channel too! And thank you!
Yay! 🎉 I’m so excited!!!!!
Thanks Leslie!! 🥰
Loved it! Looking forward to more content. The Wonderella Knit Along is tempting me... :)
Ooh glad to tempt you! I'll probably be kicking things off in another couple of weeks with the KAL!
I love your branding!!!!! So excited to see this new channel
Thank you!!
Really like your sewing studio. The cutting table, love it as you can see the beautiful fabric below the cutting top! So much nicer than the cutting mat green. The sewing machine table with the curtain fabric is fantastic! Thanks for the tip. When I get my sewing room back (ha ha- kids somehow moved back in) I will try to make mine.
Thank you so much! I love having the fabric under the mat. It's not the bet cutting mat so I pull out a normal one when I need to cut something really persnickety like interfacing, but I do love it anyway!
thankyou Tash for a wonderful video and sharing your craftperience
Thank you!
Hello I recently came across you via a knit you made and put on ravelry and I'm so excited to 'meet you' on here now! Your sewing space is so organized! I am definitely contemplating making a table skirt now too ... I'm constantly frustrated by seeing all the cables etc. Under my table from the other room 🤣
I'm looking forward to seeing all your creations! I'm a knitter and love sewing so I'm here for it all 😊
YES the sewing table skirt is perfect for that, that was actually another reason I went for velcro, because I could just put the cord between the two halves of the velcro to sandwich it in, and get it out of the way and not have to look at it. I love that! And thank you!!
Hi from France! I've been following you on social media for years now but I'm not much of a reading girl, I'm more into watching CZcams videos so I am so so glad you're on CZcams now! Can't wait to watch your content 😍😍❤️
Bienvenue, welcome! I'm so glad you're excited about my new channel! 🥰
I recently painted the back of my white IKEA billy bookshelves, felt the same kind of joy that I imagine you did when you put the fabric on the back of your shelving. I am so intrigued by your custom self-healing mat situation, I fell heir to a couple of IKEA islands laid out into one long surface, they are going to make cutting things out SO much more wonderful. I’ve got some long curtain panel work to do, and I’m over the moon that I won’t have to do it on the floor! i’m smiling at your red and pale blue retro styling, but find my attention drawn to the vinyl floor that is clearly not in sync with your style. I love to play an imaginary game where I see some thing in a house that others would tear out with glee if it was in the budget… And try to make something beautiful around it, to make the offending material an essential in the glorious design. Or to design a landscape around a challenging looking house (The Pepto-Bismol colored brick house almost defeated me, as the rules of my game don’t allow me to paint over things like that). and now, as I tuneup some rusty sewing skills that were pretty elementary to start with, I dream of turning some of my older garments into something more beautiful and interesting. I can see now that I will be cogitating on your vinyl floor for a while. I had some flooring very similar to that in a tiny galley kitchen & I never quite figured out how to make it fabulous. I ended up replacing it with a faux wood vinyl floor, nearly gluing my bottom to the floor during the process, lol.
Yeah the peel and stick vinyl tile is over the entireeeee basement floor, and ugly as it is, we're not eager to replace it and move everything out of the basement anytime soon. 😂 Maybe we'd do luxury vinyl tile since it's thicker and easier to stand on but probably not bothering anytime soon honestly, ha!
OMG I love your sewing room/corner and the matchy-matchy color theme. I reaaaally enjoyed this presentation video so keep it rolling! haha no, seriousely I'm looking forward to come along with you and your journey here on youtube.
Best wishes from northen Spain.
Thanks so much, glad to have you along for the journey! 😊
Hi, BRILLIANT! You have given me so many ideas. I’m currently setting up a small sewing room. I love your style. Bron, Shropshire, UK.
Thanks so much! Enjoy setting up your space, it's so much fun!
I am a follower from now on you just do so many things I also do my motto is if I can’t do it I learn it.
Thank you! Pretty much my motto as well. 😊
