- "Mom, I want MP7." "We have MP7 at home." The MP7 at home:
I love the concept of mag-in-grip PDWs and SMGs, especially modern designs like the MP7. Well, can't exactly get my hands on one of those, so let's build a semi-automatic spiritual cousin of the platform using a Ruger 57, the MP57 chassis from Custom Smith Manufacturing, and a custom Digital Nimbus Invader brace setup redesigned by myself. - Věda a technologie
Man I love your videos. You do your own thing and have such great creativity and imagination. Keep it up brother!
I wonder if you could do the Half Life Alyx Pistol. It looks really similar.
That pistol is built on a 1911.
@@imperialbricks1977 Is that the case for the original one from Half-Life 2 as well? The one from Alyx never quite matched up in appearance with the older one, but I imagine she just kept adding more modifications to it until she got it perfect by HL2.
@@BruceForte
If you mod it enough in HLA it gets to his HL2 appearance
Awesome build, very excited to see how much this changes in the future. This definitely seems like something someone will put a modded trigger in.
Another well thought out build! Thank you for sharing!👍👌
To get rounds cheaper u can get 40gr .223 slugs and blue dot powder(5 grains) and small pistol primer and u can make the round for under 50 cents
That's smart, loading your 5.7 plinking ammo and buying EA or something instead of hot hand loads.
Love PDWs. Beautiful build.
My favorite round. Now your talkin
You were ahead of time!!! My Ruger LC Carbine is on the way
Everyone look up the FORT-230 - it's essentially a 9mm MP7.
Does look awesome bud, keep it up!
I like it, would totally buy it once its fully finished. Also its a great size for home defense. sign me up.
That is really cool
I'm always gonna be down for a pdw. As long as I can customize it and don't have to look at irons, lol
F'n A - Mrs. Passion 7 is beautiful!
RIP the new manufacturer lol
i dont like 5.7 as a *pistol* caliber but as a pdw/carbine weapon its pretty cool
Ok. This is freaking kewl
That's dope
Thank you sir
I got exited when i saw this. I wish the charging handle didn’t reciprocate. I would like to keep my teeth when cheek wielding.
Look nice...
I hope the company that takes up the project makes it as cheap as it ought to be. Smith was selling these at a pretty grotesquely high price consider it's literally just two 3d printed hunks of plastic and a pin to hold them together.
For what it's worth, I understand wanting to recoup design and development costs. And it's also not made of PLA printed on an Ender 3, lol. It's SLS printed (I believe) using Nylon 12.
@@booliganshootingsports even with that accounted for, i can't help but vaguely gesture condescendingly at the idea of this item and things like it costing, what was is? 400 ish dollars?
But i suppose there's also supply and demand and all that. I may get hot under the collar for pistol-carbine conversion kits, but the landslide majority of gun enthusiasts do not. So the market is limited.
@@datpolakmike You're not wrong. And ultimately, the market dictated that it wasn't the right product at the right time at the right price since it's now discontinued and the design licensed/sold. Custom Smith MFG is an awesome dude and a killer designer, I really hope the design itself takes off.
I'm interested to see what the new manufacturer comes up with.
@@booliganshootingsports honestly the design itself seems pretty rock solid feature wise, but off hand i could think of a few decent improvements. Maybe some reshaping on the back end to accommodate narrower collapsing braces? 3 and 6 o'clock rails? If they figure out how to be really REALLY space efficient, maybe a non reciprocating charging handle like the fcu x01 but lower profile?
Its almost perfect just need more side rails maybe a quad rail system?
Any updates on new production of these?
RMP57 is pretty cool tbh.
it would be really cool if you could make an fmg9, the folding automatic glock, minus the automatic part for obvious reasons.
It's in development and will likely be released to print at home pretty soon.
@@booliganshootingsports let's go, can't wait to see it man
Is there a possibility of a redesign of this sort of concept for the PSA Rock 5.7?
I think there are a few open source designs doing similar things currently!
What is the overall length on this with the brace retracted?
Thats some cool shit booligan!
💥VERY INTERESTING BETA CONCEPT👍🇺🇸...& Close copy of the H&K MP7 @ a fraction on the cost of the "Real Deal"..PRETTY KOOL MAN😎🤙
Which company took over production. I have one and I need to replace the upper half. Also do you still have yours?
Man I really wish I could get that mo7 for mine. I tried to find it and I can't find it... Sucks
What iron sights are those ?
I need it.
A video of someone on Smith's youtube said it was made from glass-filled nylon, is that something easily usable to the public?
Would be good if I can find one I heard they discontinued
They are, but a new company is taking over production.
I'm jelly
It's look like similar to the max-11 receiver from lage mfg l.l.c, except the main part is five-seven-ish not a mac 11 style. also nice job tho! keep make those masterpiece!
Looks cool, it’s just kind of bulky and plain. I think if the front of the hand guard was slanted downwards like a mp7 and had more groove to the pistol grip. It would look a lot more tactical.
Form follows function. Adding a slant to the front would necessitate adding length to the bottom as it's as short as it possibly can be up front due to there being a pistol slide inside. I'm not a huge fan of the grip texture they used though, and the printable version I'm working on would have better textures there.
🔥🔥
Why 5.7x28 likes curvy mags if the case is perfectly cylindrical?
Need range video and also would it be better with a longer brace?
Legally, it can't have a longer brace. This is right at the edge of what's permitted under the current and future brace rules.
@@booliganshootingsports So all the braces I got from SB Tactical are illegal now? Cause they are longer than what you got on this thing
I mean, possibly, lol. Current rules state that if the LOP is longer than 13.5", legally, it's disallowed. This is right below that point. The ATF has also stated that many of the most popular models from SB Tactical are legally considered shoulder stocks in their opinion. This was a whole big thing that happened last year.
Anyone running something like an SBA3 could potentially run into an unregistered SBR charge. Now, will they? Probably not. But the ATF has stated multiple times that they consider that model a shoulder stock. Here's an excerpt from one of their criminal prosecution advisement statements on the matter: imgur.com/a/e9HWUM0
We need to just disband the ATF, repeal NFA. Its easier than dancing around these stupid rules as they usurp our rights.
You are definitely not wrong.
Can I put that brace on mac and cheese and how please help
Have you heard anything about these coming back from a new mfg?
Still waiting for someone to drop a file of an MP7 shell/ chassis to mod a 5.7/ 9
Where do you release your files
On my Odysee page.
Cut to the palmetto booth at shot show 2024
Awesome as always, but imagine if it was full auto 🥴
It would be great if the pesky ol' Hughes Amendment was repealed, lol.
@@booliganshootingsports I'm always suprised you haven't just got an ffl
@@jediknight129 Having an FFL07 and SOT would be fun, sure, but I have zero interest in getting into the actual firearm industry. I hate the idea of doing retail and I prefer finding creative solutions around the unconstitutional laws in place restricting designs. Having an SOT would make me lazy I think.
@@booliganshootingsports I'm aiming for one when I go back to the US mainly because I don't trust the ATF. the new interpretation of silencer stuff that any part 'redesigned' needs a form 4 so anything you buy to make into a can is a silencer part in order to kill form 1 builds shows the threat so its a case of self protection tbh.
@@booliganshootingsports Any thoughts on making STLs for this? seems like the company the bought it has gone tits up. I think you might have the last one in existence.
Wowino 😅😎👌🏼
Damn. This looked liked it would make a great cheek pistol until you got to the charging handle. I don't like my dentist that much
stl?
Do you do customs for people
I release my designs for free for everyone. I don’t do custom builds or orders for others.
Do you have an ETA on this project? CSM doesn't make this anymore and the company they gave the rights to does not have a website...
This would be great as a glock chassis too. I wish it was a thing
There are a bunch of printable Glock pattern chassis like this
So when are you going to take these designs to the next level? You should apply for an 02/07.
It's something I've considered. The main issue is, I don't want to be in the gun business, lol. I have zero desire to get involved in retail, I like just designing stuff and releasing it for free. This is just a self sustaining hobby for me, I have a very full time day job.
While it would be fun to get an FFL07 and SOT and all that jazz to get more toys to play with, I think it would compromise a lot of my design choices since I tend to design things to work around the rules that require an SOT/tax stamp, etc. Plus, then I actually would have to be in the firearm business which I'd like to avoid.
Maybe someday if things change for me though.
You're like "how do I infringe on you without infringing on you???!" 🧐🤔
1911 chassis?😁
would love a mp5 3d printed receiver that would be goated
Ivan and DD are working on one. The parts kits are still $$$ though.
@@booliganshootingsports much love my friend keep up the amazing work
@@booliganshootingsports This is the way. Need this to happen, HK can hurt my wallet all they want
I feel like the "At home" should be in the name. like MPAH7 or the AH7 or the AH57
Halo pistol😎🙏✌
A video game gun I'd like to see your opinion on is nero's blue rose from devil may cry 4 and 5. A build for it, if possible, would be crazy.
Imagine how quickly the 3dprinted firearms community would collapse if everyone started patenting their stuff.
To be fair, this chassis was designed by a company in order to sell completed items. None of it was designed to be home made.
Hey bro! Looks great! I like the design, but 5.7 is just too hard to get & too expensive for me. It's not something I'd do for myself... but if this could be made into other calibers that'd be awesome. Like 9mm or 40s&w
There are comparable fully printed chassis setups for Glock/Sig based guns to accomplish much of the same thing in more readily available calibers! Digital Nimbus has some great setups both released and in the works!
Partially co-witness???
"The 5.7 likes to curve in a longer magazine"
Huh? It was literally designed from the very beginning around the P90 magazine, which is absolutely NOT curved and stacks 50 rounds perfectly.
Our testing is showing that carrier tilt is happening with extended standard format handgun magazines. This is alleviated with introducing a curve to the magazine extension.
5.7 is a non-tapered round, so it SHOULD be fine in a straight magazine, but the testing is showing differently for this specific platform. Just one of those weird things we discover when testing.
@@booliganshootingsports perhaps a result of the feed angle from handgun mags?
@@InvidiousIgnoramus most likely. Since they’re not perfectly stacked in a parallel line like in the P90, they misbehave a little, lol.
afaik the chassis is no longer made
I would really I mean really like to see you make a conversation of a AR-15 to a Warhammer 40k bolter
personally i think the insides of the gun make more sense to have to be serialised and controlled rather than the thing you put those parts into
hmm i could build one around a glock so i could afford to shoot it
Wtf is halflife and why is every MP7 video's comment section full of it?
It’s the defining video game series for a generation.
You didn't get your ruger for 500 bucks come on dude why lie ,where did you purchase it? Must have been used but than again I doubt that too. Full of crap. 500 my ass
Literally bought it brand new from a local kitchen table FFL here in Utah for $500. $600 total out the door since I bought a few boxes of FN factory ammo along with it.
These are $500 guns all day if you shop around. Checking sales histories online, I’m finding barely used ones with optics installed selling for $500, new ones and clean used ones in the high 400s and low 500s from small online sellers.
Do a little research and find good deals. This stuff isn’t hard.
