My factory exhaust brake also works perfectly fine, I haul my 34 ft camper up and down the east coast with the family. I've never had an issue or complaints i also have my exhaust brakes on the minute I start my truck and wait when im going down grades that is also key along with tow haul mode.
East coast is all you needed to say!!! East coast is flat!! No mountains!! No wonder you don’t need a good break on flat ground
For starters for whatever reason the torque coverter wasn't locked. For the exhaust brake to work it must be direct drive ( torque converter locked) like a manual transmission would be.
Why do you turn tow haul off for the factory test. My duramax works just fine
My Lbz factory exhaust brake holds my truck back and slows me down
My Duramax exhaust brake also works fine and I’m running more weight than him. Turning on the EB switch doesn’t slow the vehicle down by design. It needs to know what speed to hold back to. That’s why it needs cruise control speed set to that speed. Then it knows where to slow to. Just turning on the switch- doesn’t matter.

I have a 2014 duramax and I tow a 12,000 5th wheel, and I always leave it in tow mode, and on cruise control. I have more control by just using my cruise control +/- to activate the exhaust brake than by using my regular brakes. My factory exhaust brake works perfect, never hav3 to use my brakes
@@caseyarmstrong7064 but at the same time it’d be nice to get rid of that damn vgt turbo and use this. At least with this the truck won’t derate and toss a bunch of codes because the turbo ain’t workin
