      I'm a little suspect of the pricing for the EM9191. The modem module is very expensive so I think it will probably be closer to $1000 for that model. We'll see when we get closer to the ship date.

    Hello, I have a couple of questions. Will you do an indepth set-up guide of your unit? Also, I'm interested on the mofi5500 model 7690 since it has 5x carrier aggregation. Will you try to get this model as well?

    • @SeleTraining
      @SeleTraining  Před 3 lety

      MoFi chose to send me the 7411 unit for testing. I probably won’t have the 7690 for testing but that is the one I would choose if I wanted a 4G MoFi option. For 5G you’ll have to go with the 9191. With my review of the 7411 I’ll provide some setup information and the menus are the same for all of the other models.

  • @youcantoorv9860

    Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the comparison against the Insty. From what I see the insty is designed to be mounted on an RV roof with a plastic bracket? This doesn't sound like something that will last.

    • @SeleTraining
      @SeleTraining  Před 3 lety +1

      The Insty Connect uses a 3D printed Angel Wing antenna. Mine has held up just fine on my RV for the past 3 months but Nick says he'll replace them if you have any problems. The mount and antenna are pretty solid. If it has any issues it would just be from weather. It is definitely sturdy so I don't worry about it braking at all.

      The MOFI5500 with the EM7690 blows the Insty Connect in speed, quality and features
      Did you know it is also cheaper and have no yearly support charges?
      The 5500with the EM7690 is $499.99 and the Insty Connect is $549.99 plus more shipping and you need to pay extra every year for support.
      Why is Insty Connect charging for yearly support?
      They don't even have a phone number to contact them for help and the router has very limited features?
      What will happen after 10 months when that company is out of business and have a warranty claim especially with the cheap quality parts they are using?

    Competition creates more choices than ever. Finally, the cell network providers are positioning to offer great choices. And now the device/router manufacturers appear to be creating even more options. The consumer can only benefit. And some of us have Starlink service without interruptions! All these options will serve to keep the pricing affordable.

      5G is a huge speed increase as long as it’s available in the area. Also the 5500 is much faster with 4G than the 4500. MoFi made some good improvements. I’ve done a comparison video of the 5500 with the Insty Connect and the 4500 if you haven’t seen it yet.

    • @SeleTraining
      @SeleTraining  Před 2 lety +1

      @@tylerhestla3022 Hard to say for sure because the tower connection, plan, router and other factors all play into the speed. I just know that the Insty Connect and the MoFi 5500 are much faster than the 4500 in real world tests I've done. The 5500 was about twice the speed of the 4500 for me. However, the tower/band you are connected to may be limiting speeds as well as the volume of people connecting to it. Some plans also have speed caps like with Visible limiting to 5Mbps downloads. You likely don't have that restriction with AT&T. The best thing to compare is to put the SIM in a phone and get close to the tower. See if that speed is dramatically faster. If it is then the router upgrade should help.

    • @tylerhestla3022
      @tylerhestla3022 Před 2 lety

      And my mofi will constantly fluctuate between 5 and 20mbps. Cellphone stats consitent. Sometimes I will use my cell Hotspot if I'm trying to watch a 4k movie because mofi isn't consitent. The speed fluctuates if I am hard wired to pc or over wifi. So I don't think adding an additional router will help but maybe upgrading the mofi will.
