  • ** 2023 UPDATE: I have still been receiving confirmations that this solution still works. Here are what others are saying in the comments BELOW vvvvvvvv
    ~ Fellow views have said they are being limited to 5mbps now by Visible. You can always use other carriers SIM cards with this solution. The Visible option just happened to be the cheapest and have the best coverage at the time. We still use on occasion with our spare T-mobile card
    ~~ Sometimes is seems the link to the dcunlocker webpage goes down. I'm not sure why or when this happens. If it is not working for you when you try to click it, don't get too discouraged. Attempt to go to that page again in a couple days.
    ~~~ Please, remember to change your TTL (time to live) on your computer. This is often why people think they are being throttled to 5mbps. you need the router to not recognize that it is sending Internet to: what it thinks is a computer. You can google this topic and also try other TTL Values.
    This video shows you exactly how you can have cheap unlimited internet in your van or rv while traveling and living on the road.
    We want you to enjoy the freedoms of unlimited, un-throttled LTE internet while traveling, just as we do.
    This is how to experience unlimited LTE internet in 2021 while living in our van,
    Will also work for buslife rvlife (also works in "normal" homes 😝)
    So this only uses the signal it creates from the late modem right? It can’t pick up abs rebroadcast other WiFi signals like from an rv park? Assuming that’s true, if I use my visible sim in this, and it thinks it’s a phone, and then I pick up the net gears signal with my router and rebroadcast it, will it still be un-throttled or will visible recognize that it’s being rebroadcast abs throttle it down? Hope that’s clear, lol. Great video!
Does this allow you to connect to more than one computer at a time and put the phone on an on/off timer to keep from continually charging?
    Hi, we have an M1 and have a plan where we can share a dedicated data SIM, plus the data on our phone plans for a total of 85gigs of data per month. Why not just use hotspotting from our phones.? Because although the iPhone and the M1 can have data speeds of about 270mbs, if we use the phone as a hotspot we only get about 30mbs. These speeds are close to the CBD, Perth, Western Australia and not what we can get when travelling away from the city in country towns or in more remote areas. But, it gives an idea of the possible speeds on a 4g LTE device. There is a new 5G Netgear M5 available here, but the coverage for 5G is still very limited and it’s not worth the extra cost.
    Our shared plans are expensive, about AUD120 per month for the three, but our provider has the best coverage for rural and remote areas of Australia.
    Hey, so I get to the repairing part and all of a sudden I'm getting a message saying "abort test server" then dc unlocker crashes itself, any idea on why this happens? My ttl is at 65, Im on windows, and I already did the check login part (btw only works when router is unplugged out of laptop).
    This option is still reliant on the strength of the cellular network tho, right? So if I have no bars on my phone I shouldn't expect reception to the router?
    Hey Jake I appreciate this dude! Quick question - Do you just order the SIM and stick it in the Netgear to get it started? Or do you have to get a phone also to first activate the SIM and then plug it in the Netgear? If you just got a SIM, what SIM did you get on the Visible site? Thanks in advance!
    • @JakeandHeather
      @JakeandHeather  Pƙed 2 lety +7
      correct. you will need to put the visible sim into a phone first to activate the sim using the Visible app. I selected to "bring my own phone" on the visible website to have them send me just the SIM card
    Since Visible does not roam you might be in an area no service. Have you considered getting another cheap secondary carrier on different network just in case?
    Hi Jake-
    Looking for some advice on this:
    1) I called ATT and unlocked the MR1100 hotspot.
    2) I put in a Cricket Data SIM in the hotspot, changed the APN, and it worked fine.
    3) I then took out the data SIM, changed the IMEI to an unlocked phone that I had lying around.
    4) I got a new SIM (for a cell phone) made from another carrier (GCI) and when I put it in the hotspot and changed the APN, not the Hotspot says that it is locked
    5) I can put that same GCI SIM into the unlocked phone and the phone works, the phone doesn't say that it is locked, but when I put the SIM back in the hotspot it shows up as locked again.
    6) I can put the Cricket Data SIM back into the hotspot, and the hotspot doesn't show locked, but it also doesn't work anymore because the IMEI is no longer a data device.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Question...how were you able to get just the sim card. I am finding it hard to just get the sim card without the carriers pushing their phones on me because they say my phone is not compatible. For visible specifically, you say that you need to change the IMEI so that the speeds are not 5mbps, so when you change the IMEI, what speeds did you encounter?
  • @kentrg
    @kentrg Pƙed 3 lety +1
    Thanks for the video. I also use Visible but with Google Pixel phone as hotspot. I haven't seen these 30mb speeds your getting in. My phone doesn't get any more than 5mbps and devices attached to it get about same so I have not seen the need for this solution. However Im in a residential area and probably deprioritized heavily. Have you seen the need for a weboost? Also is this solution compatible with weboost ?
    I work for AT&T. There's a way to get an unlimited hotspot for under $35 a month with no discounts. Cheaper still if they have military/first responder/teacher discount. It involves a phantom IMEI number, and a new line added on Premium. Not every AT&T employee knows about it, because it's not exactly policy. But it works.
    Followed the video to a T and at the end I realized the router I bought wasn’t unlocked
 đŸ€Šâ€â™‚ïž So I’m reaching out with a couple questions if you can help. I’m hoping the seller will release it from their AT&T account to make it unlocked, but if they can’t I’ll probably just buy a new one. If I get a new one can I use the same IMEI number from the phone I previously used to rewrite the first router I bought or will I have to get a different one? Second question, if that’s the route I go and eventually sell the first router, will I need to change back the IMEI to its original one? Thanks for your time!
