Yeah they do. But, firstly, since Ronald Regan this nation has been run by Wall Street. Whatever pumps a stock, like cutting corners on security or quality, whatever funnels money to corporations is king. Secondly, corporations' leadership are just now learning Cyber is more than dance videos, and Ass Hat billionaires. Third, we have a tendency to look down on places like China, and not view them as a threat. Big rule of warfare, real or corporate, never under estimate your enemy.

The USA’s best hope is recruiting more cybersecurity specialists and just more IT professionals in general or recruit hackers to take the fight to the Chinese by hacking them and stealing what technology and blueprints on the Chinese space station. However, super computers don’t work the way you just said. I’m pretty sure super computers are for processing large amounts of data at once and faster.

They’ve won battles, they won the civil war against the nationalists, fought our boys a few times like in Korea. I do see what you’re saying though, no big engagements recently at all, maybe border scuffles with India at most. But sadly due to their large quantities of knockoff USA/RUS weapons and vast industrial capacity, they are a military superpower. They’ve got ‘the nuclear triad’ after all.

You do have to admit, while espionage may fair badly in many peoples perspective. This is no less than impressive that China was able to pull it off and actually able to reproduce the technology in quantity. Not to mention that the United States also participates in many espionage campaign throughout history and to this day, from taking technology to understanding there foes. While I am not the biggest fan of China, its clearly ineffective to down play Chinas own power and potiental, against a adversary, such as the US. ( If you disagree with my statement, feel free to provide your own contentions regarding this topic )

    • @chieftain5571

US political and military leadership have looked down on China and most of Asia, for most of our history. 'Washermen' (McArthur on N. Korea/China) has historically been the term. US Gov and political leaders' racism allowed this to happen, in part. No, nothing good can come from much of the region aside from cheap labor. But, a key warfare principal is 'never underestimate your enemy.' And, yes. Until China loses it's psychosis ('The Century of Humiliation', worship of political figures, China's historical, xenophobia, yet dark, obsession and envy of America and The West) China should never be considered less than an enemy. And, never disregarded. The other factor is American political leadership's inability of forward thinking. Cyber has been vital for forty years. Yet most politician's think its a just bunch of tweens doing tik tok dances, and a few Ass Hat billionaires.
