Western countries, especially the USA, have historically held the upper hand in conflicts in the Middle East due to their superior military technology and resources. However, as American veterans who fought in Afghanistan and have since joined the foreign legion are discovering, the dynamics of warfare can be vastly different in other regions, particularly when facing formidable opponents like Russia.
These veterans, accustomed to fighting insurgencies without tanks, fighter jets, and artillery, are now encountering the harsh realities of trench warfare and the devastating impact of being pinned down by enemy artillery. Their assumption that combat against Russia would mirror their experiences in the Middle East, facing poorly equipped adversaries, is quickly shattered.
Many foreign soldiers who have joined the conflict in Ukraine find themselves reevaluating their expectations within the first week of fighting. They come to the stark realization that Russia is not akin to the impoverished countries of the Middle East, where regime changes may seem attainable. The formidable strength and capabilities of the Russian military present a formidable challenge, unlike any they have faced before.

Well, days turned into two years of slogging humiliation for a so-called superpower that has only managed to occupy less than 20 percent of Ukraine. Russia can’t even fully capitalize on lagging western military support to gain more than incremental ground in this conflict. Let's not forget, Western powers like Britain, France, Poland, Germany and the US have invaded Russia. In the 1990's, Russia pleaded twice to be part of NATO - to no avail, US warmongers wanted a perpetual adversary. In 2004 NATO began training Ukraine soldiers for a future proxy war against their Russian neighbors.
In a 2014, US led a coup in Ukraine that brought NAZI units into their military, police and Gov't. This led to a Civil War that was killed over 14,000 in the Donbas Eastern ethnic Ukraine-Russian region. In 2022, Russia moved in to stop the killing by the NATO NAZI trained units on the Russian border.
In the Minsk Peace Accords, several nations have sought for a peaceful neutral Ukraine - against some in the West. Counties in Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Latin America support or are neutral in this conflict. Some in the West want this proxy war to continue. Others on this multipolar planet want stability and peace - no to the warmongers.

American veteran writer Noctis Draven - "Ukraine and the West are extremely concerned about Russia's reaction to the Moscow massacre. The truth is that Russia treats Ukraine with caution. Russia has 100 times more power than it used against Ukraine. Russia has so far considered the situation in Ukraine as pest control. Moreover, the pest was Zelensky belonging to the West and his Nazi army. When dealing with pests, you don't burn down the whole house, you expel the pests. The West is concerned that Russia will not be able to hold back for long if there is an escalation like the Moscow massacre. It won't take Russia two years to destroy Ukraine. If she wanted to, then in two weeks Ukraine would have turned into a history lesson for Eastern European children. It would be a crater in the ground."

Then add the mobilised from LPR and DPR plus 60k from Wagner. Not to mention the original 16Ok Russians who invaded. You get to a million Russian soldiers sent to Ukraine quite easily. The inability to make any meaningful ongoing advances does suggest up to 400k casualties is very plausible.

@@brock2364 You have already decided, Russia is stealing equipment and Russia is running out of shells and missiles, or: "Russia has air superiority, Russia also has 10 times more artillery, and it was assumed that it would have more advanced weapons."
      >Russia has not even captured 30% of Ukraine in 2+ years.
Well, the situation here is like in the First World War, new technologies and outdated tactics. According to the same logic, I will say the opposite: "Ukraine cannot regain its territories in any way."
      >Germany and Japan have been invading countries during this time.
Did you remember the Second World War? Should I remind you what the USSR did with Germany and Japan then? The USSR entered its borders only on March 26, 1944, and in 13 months captured Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Austria, Hungary and half of Germany, which is like 2-2.5 of Ukraine. The United States planned to fight Japan for another 3 years, and the USSR defeated the largest Kwantung army in a couple of weeks and captured all the Japanese islands in 3 days.
And the most important thing in your phrase is "captured", not "they can capture today". What are the Western media saying there? Does Russia produce more shells than all the NATO countries combined? Will Germany and France have enough weapons for only 2 months of war? And in general, will Western countries have the support to fight?
      >Russia has lost 400k+. There is no single proof, and listening to what the opposite side of the conflict says about the enemy's losses is complete bullshit. You don't believe what Russia says about the losses of Ukraine, according to estimates there are 500k+ losses. I also note that for some reason Ukraine needs 500k more soldiers, but they cannot call up so many, but Russia has no problems with the army. I say this because there are friends who volunteered for the war.

      >Russia hasn’t had or been close to America in any field for decades
Of course, none of them. When all the developments of America are all imported from Russia/USSR or Europe.
      A few examples:
      1. The use of neural networks (AI). New technology? It appeared in the USSR back in the 60s. In the USA, it began to be used only after the collapse of the USSR.
      2. American Sikorsky helicopters? Sikorsky is Russian. He moved to the USA because of the revolution.
      3. One of the founders of Google, Sergey Brin, Russian. He moved to the USA because of the crisis in the USSR.
      4. The famous Max Factor company. It was founded in Russia in the 19th century. It is named after the founder Maximilian Faktorovich.
      5. Isaac Asimov. The famous American science fiction writer. Russian, moved to the United States because of the Civil War.
      6. Louis Mayer, founder of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio (MGM), founder of Oscar. Russian, moved to the United States because of the Civil War.
      7. Ipatiev, created high-octane fuel in the USA. A white immigrant.
      8. Founder of Chanel No. 5, Ernest Bo, Russian perfumer from Moscow. He fought in the First World War, then came to Paris, where he met Coco Chanel. By her order, he created perfumes that are still popular.
      9. Checker Motors Corporation produced popular cars in the first half of the 20th century in the USA. The founder is a Russian from Smolensk.
      >Russia's only have one real old crap aircraft Carrier
You have the logic of a left-liberal, just to offend with something, but you don't need to think. Why does Russia need aircraft carriers if Russia is not a maritime power? Why are cars from the USA such crap in a cold climate? In Yakutia, where cars from the USA are not popular in winter - 80C, but Japanese cars are popular. There is no such climate in the USA, and cars were not designed for such conditions, it does not matter, they are shit, since they cannot work in extreme cold. And if we return to the topic of aircraft carriers, Russia is building them for India and China. It's just that Russia itself doesn't need them.
      >lost a flagship submarine due to poor maintenance in the early 2000s
So what? It was a crisis of the 90s, the consequences of which were felt before the beginning of the 10th. And the United States has officially lost only 13 atomic bombs due to the lack of professionalism of military pilots and sailors. So everyone in the U.S. Army is a layman? I'm amazed at your logic of remembering the old. But in primitive times, the United States was ...
      >Russia also have a navy when Ukraine don’t and air superiority. And are still not taken Ukraine yet.
The fleet cannot move by land. There is superiority in the air, so strikes are applied continuously. If you think that superiority is a blitzkrieg, then no, it's just an advantage, not a lightning victory.
      >The only times Russia has taken land is when they are up against a force not even a quester of their size like Georgia for example
What kind of territory is this? When the number was less than Georgia's, but Georgia lost in 2008 in a week, and its president, by the way, is in prison in Georgia itself for treason and starting a war. And now Russia has not captured anything in Ukraine, if "they have not captured anything."
      >Russia couldn’t even shoot down the SR-71 black bird of 30 years of missions over the entire Soviet Union
Similarly, the United States was unable to shoot down Soviet reconnaissance planes.

when I enlisted in the army and went to my first duty station the first time you talk to the sgt major of the base you can ask him to send you to a unit currently about to leave and he will move you immediately
the army loves people who want to deploy and anyone who wants to can almost instantly
