    What's funny about Death Duel is that at Electronics Boutique, we devoted a full side of a kiosk in promoting its impending release, because E.B signed an exclusivity deal with Razorsoft. But then Razorsoft broke the deal and shipped it to every retailer when it came out anyway, hahaha. I wish I had the promo material still, I'd send it to Joe who I'm sure would treasure it always!

    I actually like that on Black, the background blurs while reloading the weapons. It gives the illusion like when your eyes focus on an object closer in your vision. l remember I rented that game on the PS2 from Gamefly eons ago and liked it so much that I bought a copy the same day I returned the rental copy.

    Panzer Dragoon Orta is pretty cheap, usually 10 bucks, and add in that it has the first game as an unlockable, so you get half of the series on a disc, and one hell of a deal. Also the 007 games for the PS2/XBOX/GameCube are also pretty cheap, and fun still, well besides Goldeneye Rogue Agent. And not necessarily the cheapest advice here, but if you want to play Chrono Trigger without paying for the overpriced Snes copy, get the DS version instead.

    • @g1nobleteam
      @g1nobleteam Před 7 lety +4

      Also cheap games that are worth it, well to me at least Burnout Legends on the PSP, which is a greatest hits version of that series, pre Burnout Revenge. Mario Vs Donkey Kong on the GBA is a great puzzle platformer, especially if you liked Donkey Kong on the original Gameboy. Also the Timesplitters games are pretty cheap, and still relatively fun, especially if you enjoyed Goldeneye 007, or Perfect Dark, though the Xbox versions usually are the cheapest as I got Future Perfect for 2 bucks complete.

    • @g1nobleteam
      @g1nobleteam Před 7 lety

      Alright I said I was done, but I'm not. Four racing games from the last generation that are generally cheap to get whether on console or PC, Blur aka Mario Kart with standard cars by the people who made the Project Gotham Racing games (also the PGR games are relatively cheap as well for the Xbox systems, and pretty cheap as well). Split Second, basically a mix of Burnout, and a gameshow, Driver San Francisco in which a concussion lets you possesses other drivers, and finally Ridge Racer Unbounded which adds in a lot of Burnout to the Ridge Racer name. Last game I'll recommend is Ken Griffey Junior Baseball on the Snes (the first one), as it is my favorite baseball game even more than the Mario Baseball game.

    I know that it's outside of the scope of Game Sack, but of course there's also a ton of cheap gaming to be had on even the feeblest of computers. If you're like me and have any amount of nostalgia for old MS-DOS titles, you can get them for literally nothing much of the time. I've even sometimes thought about putting together a proper late 90s-early 00s PC to scratch my itch for the early 3d stuff, since dads the world over are typically happy to hand over their old pentiums and whatnot. Keep up the excellent videos, guys. Looking sharp!

    BLACK IS FRIGGIN' AWESOME! (I had it on xbox.) What most people don't seem to realize is enemies only take 3 bullets on average to kill. It's just that they have "recovery time" after each bullet where they don't take damage. It's just like when a player gets hit, (like in old school games,) & he flashes for a moment of invulnerability, except here the enemy gets this moment of invulnerability. Just shoot, pause, shoot, pause, shoot, dead. (Unless they have body armor.)
    Also, the blur goes away if you hit "X" (I think. It's the "pick up item" button.) right as you start to reload. I would've hated it if I couldn't get rid of that blur.
    I never saw such a destructive environment back then, or so many particle effects, or such impressive sound effects. Everything was just so intense! I was so glad MS made it backwards compatible for the 360. It looks even sharper on it. (Yes, it's still rendered at 480p & scaled up, but it's still sharper.)
    And getting unlimited ammo after beating the game on normal... soooo friggin sweet to go through it again with a rocket launcher or magnum!

    Top Gear 1 and 2 were a sensation in Brazil. Everyone loved it and it was prety competitive!!!! I think its fair to assume TG1 was the game I rented the most.

    fun fact.
    here in brazil, Top Gear was way more common than metroid, final fantasy or even zelda.
    most of snes owners, own a top gear copy, it was one of the most played games on the Snes (along with International Superstar Soccer Deluxe), only behind games bundled with the console, like super mario.

    Surely, for cheap but good gaming things you should look at the common stuff like Sonic, Mario, Tomb Raider. They're definitely not expensive and they sold loads for a reason.

    Top Gear is really expensive here in Brazil, since is one of the games most people played during childhood around here, and now everyone wants to have it in their collections.

    Be honest. You just made this to see if you could spike eBay prices.
    Kidding! Mickey Mania is fantastic. Happy to see it featured and looking forward to a future full review.

    The NES is a dream console for budget collectors, especially if you're not that picky about boxed copies. Seicross; Rescue: The Embassy Mission; Little Nemo: The Dream Master; Astyanax; most of the decent Rareware games; you can make a killing on eBay if you know where to look.
    But the thing is, there's no middle-ground for NES game prices. The games either cost less than lunch, or more than a mortgage payment. Granted, there's more of the former than the latter, but it can still be pretty galling.

    I loved the fuck out of Black when it came out on PS2.
    I was so blown away by how good it looked too and even have fond memories of that gun battle on that bridge that had no save points and took a solid 40 minutes to get through it each time.

    Harley's Humongous Adventure for the SNES is a primo budget title. The titular Harley has inadvertently shrunk himself with his own invention, which promptly exploded afterward. Players must action-platform their way through Harley's house to collect the machine's pieces and restore him to his normal size. Along the way, you must battle insects like vomiting flies and literal fire ants with small, mundane items like marbles, rubber bands, and jacks. Also, the game uses prerendered CG sprites which appear to have been based on clay models.
    This little person in a big world game can be had for around $10 or less. Check it out!

    I liked the episode, seems some are confused about how cheaper games are generally less popular ones, sophisticated concept I know. Some tough sells in your choices but most will definitely remain cheap rather than skyrocketing from being highlighted so I think that works in your favor. Death Duel is a good concept imo even if the execution isn't so hot.

    Kengo: Master of Bushido on the PS2. an amazing japanese sword fighting game that uses combos, parries, and movement to battle. and the game is usually like $5-$10
    one of my favorite games of all time. and a must own in my opinion.
