  • Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing fantastic, thank you to anyone who is watching this video and has clicked their ways here. I've been gone due to a number of reasons that I'll make a dedicated video for, as for now, this is my unboxing and first look and the McGraw 3 Gallon portable air compressor sold at Harbor Freight! So far I'm impressed for what I can get for $60 compared to a small electric air gun that has no power behind it, at least this can air up my tires as well. This air compressor is going to be a perfect help to start up my Tech CZcams Channel @Bryce De Waal ! Head over to that channel if you guys want to see any tech related content, I'm looking forward to getting back into the tech scene! Thank you everyone again for watching, please leave a like on the video as it helps a TON, subscribe for more content and hit that notification bell if you guys want to be notified when I release more content! Have a blessed day everyone!

I have one of these, the same exact one, and it runs my brad nailer just fine.
The drain on the bottom of the tank isn't so much for draining the air out as it's for draining the condensation that collects in the tank.
It's worth mentioning; the drain needs to be on the very bottom so the water can drain better instead on the side like it is. I find myself tilting it over the insure all the condensation drains out.

Thanks so much for this. I'm oddly intimidated by the compressor so this video helped me a ton!

I got mine its decent. First compressor I owned. I made sure to break in the compressor for 15mins as the instructions said. And then I filled it up and it took about 4mins to fill up. I plan to powder coat my brakes with only 10psi of pressure needed. Seems like it will do the job just fine.

@@joshrawks21 honestly after owning it for awhile I’d return it. I hate that thing.

@@joshrawks21 it runs out air, has no pressure and loud ass hell don’t even bother

@brycepsi I assume you got it from harbor freight like I did. You're going to lose 20% bro which will give you back like 48 dollars. Luckily I only need 10psi to spray the powder on the brakes and brakes are not that big of a part. So the 100gals at 10psi will be more than enough. Tomorrow I'll check how long it takes to empty the tank at 10psi from full to empty.

I just bought this same unit last week. Once I plugged it in, I instantly had buyers remorse.

What did you have remorse about with this compressor?

Is this air compressor very loud when running? Can this compressor fill up a car or truck tire?

    • @chrisfrerichs8360
      @chrisfrerichs8360 Před 7 měsíci

It can fill a truck tire just fine but expect that it’ll be running and blasting your ears about 80% of fill time. Seems it can’t keep up..
I have considered dumping it and grabbing a newer more powerful model..

@chrisfrerichs8360 Ok. Had a feeling it was pretty loud . Do you know of the " Fortress" brand of compressor at HF ? If so, would that be a better alternative, like in their smaller compressor?

@@Slim1423 I mount my own car tires. I use a simple tire inflatier for seating the beads. The McGraw 3 Gallon really doesn't have more power than a simple Tire Inflator..
Its junk with a tank. Don't buy.

Did you ever find you had any air leaks where the hose connects to the tank? For me I’m not sure if it’s a hose fitting or the fitting on the tank itself.

I just bought this thing about two weeks ago and I don’t think that’s the issue. It does work but it’s more trouble than the time and the hurt on my ears…

I can't control pressure to the tool. Does turning the regulator knob clockwise increase or decrease pressure to the tool?

Piece of crap! Got it on special for 39.99. It probably had pumped up 50 times and it no longer will fill the tank. Of course it’s way past any warranty. No parts available as the distribution parts center in Calif. just a waste of any money you might spend.
