    Another tip I’ve learned is to introduce multiple new fishes at the same time to aquarium. It’s prevents established fishes to attack only one newcomer.

    Thanks for this video. Had a clown pair that was literally hunting down the two new fish I introduced. I taped mirrors on two different sides of the tank and that totally diverted their attention and now after a few days everyone is getting along.

    Facts! Just because this fish is peaceful doesn’t mean they want their space intruded I have a Heniochus that has gotten huge within a small ammount of time and is picking on my teardrop butterfly, I have a 210 gallon and usually my two butterflyfish swim together but it seems when I’m not over feeding they get upset :(

    I have a yellow tang, sail fin tang and a two spot bristletooth tang. They get along great but totally gang up on anything else I try to put in. Gonna try the two separate reef theory. Nice video thanks.

    Nice job as always. BTW it is fish of primarily different genera. Though you could get by with fish in same genera if careful and added at same time or in specific orders.
    Especially applies to Tangs.
    Wrasses can be crazy, or great.
    Keeping Lunares, yellow coris, lime green coris, Red coris and six line wrasse and all getting along. Also had a nice red and white pencil wrasse with them too, until he managed to get into sump filter area, no idea how, could not be retrieved then a month or so later did some carpet surfing.

    Yeah this is gonna be a great help. I set up a new tank and have been doing the adding the least aggressive fish first method because in my old tank, super inexperienced reefer me decided to get a Purple Dottyback because it had pretty colors and it took me doing that to learn that he’s a little butt head. He’s definitely going in last to my new tank which I already have 2 of my eventual total of 6 (maybe 7) fish. Which on that note, is 6 (or 7) fish too much for a 45 gallon tank? I’ve got a bangaii Cardinal and a Midas Blenny right now, and I plan on adding two clowns, a mandarin dragonet (getting that pod population set up first), and then lastly the dottyback. Was wondering if I would be able to add any other fish to the tank or not lol

    Thank you for the information. How long do you think we should be using acclimation tank for before adding to the official tank

  • @AQUA-RC
    @AQUA-RC Před 2 lety

    Has anyone put the aggressor in the acclimation box as like a “time out” kind of deal while the new fish get situated for a few days? A friend of mine told me to do that and just wondering if it works?

  • @mikevalenzuela4480
    @mikevalenzuela4480 Před 2 lety

    I had a couple nano clowns not make it because my other 2 clowns (well the female) was being way too aggressive, even after sticking it in the acclimation box. Don't know if I should risk getting a slightly larger pair to introduce or does my female have no hope of ever being nice?

    I put a mirror on the glass and it’s working perfectly. The other fish are all acting normal while the flame angelfish is poking at his reflection. But how long should I leave the mirror up? He hasn’t actually bitten anyone, but my royal gramma is hiding from him and the clown fish stay up as far away from him as possible.

    • @MadHattersReef
      @MadHattersReef  Před rokem +1

      It's definitely something that happens within that type of fish. I assume that it has to do with a influx in male to female ratio. Which this fish is not sexually dimorphic so it's hard to tell what you have.

    • @truthhurts4948
      @truthhurts4948 Před rokem

      As I understand it, they school when younger and then one will usually go on to kill the rest until it’s the lone one.
