Great video, finally got my tank up and running and I’m in the cycling phase of the setup!
Thanks for the video. Most "beginner coral" videos/lists I see are full of softies. I like the different types of SPS you had, I had no idea some of those were so resistant
vikinglord13 I probably do a soft top 10 down the road but I thought it would be good to do a beginner reef tank video. Thanks for watching!
Just getting into reef keeping, and this vid was helpful and a bit refreshing. There's a lot of beginner coral count vids, it's cool to see variation and just 10 soft corals everybody names.
Those are beautiful starter corals. I especially love the zoas.
Zoanthids are stable in the hobby. Thanks for watching.
Do you think the hammer coral is a good beginner coral? I have just set up my first salt water fish tank and would love to get one as my first coral in a few months because of how cool it looks.
Great video man, keep up your work
Thanks for Watching!
Every new reefer would benefit from watching this video, exactly the concise information I have been searching for ! I will definitely try and seek out some of these recommendations. I feel more confident about keeping a few of these corals after hearing your reasoning. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, it takes generosity to to that! Happy reefing.
Thank you so much for saying that. I just picked up a bunch of these corals at MACNA last weekend. Very happy with them and they look great. Happy reefing.
If you want more of a movement coral check out torches and frog spawn, not difficult to care for
Coral is definitely not on a budget but I fell in love with it and got 15 more corals
I am a very good planted tank aquarist I have spent years learning the hobby I have just bought a new 63 gallon that I would like to start for salt water but I have no idea what sps or lps corals are so I have watched your videos to help me out with selecting fish and corals it will be some time before I can even get fish I still have to get substrate salt and rock for my aquarium which will be in the next two weeks and then cycling the aquarium properly so I have a lot of time. I am going to start out slow very slow any advice would be great for my tank size and what maybe to do for best success for something this size.
W4RD1N8ER 63 wow that's specific
Hey This Might Be A Dumb question but I'm just starting out. With All These Corals You Suggested would you have to dose with any of them or will weekly water changes be ok. I want to get all 10 of them
I really want to start in the hobby but I’m so nervous to kill these animals lol, thanks for these videos!
Watermelon Zoas were my first coral (still save them many upgrades later! ). Did you end up getting that blueberry chalice?
I didn't... and I just put in an order with Tidal Gardens recently (Unboxing video: czcams.com/video/I5q6eUqBEuM/video.html ) I did get a blue pavona, ultra lepto and a green as well as a pink pocillopora.
Mad Hatter's Reef im about to be buying a 90 dollar led light fixture the guy at the store said it woukd b good for soft coral but he said A light for sps would b atleast 200 bucks are there any sps that i could keep under the cheaper light meant for soft corals
Stephan Klase maybe cyphastrea
Awesome Video Thanks for the good information!!
+Ben Cheek Thanks for watching 🐟🐡🐠
I’m gonna buy the nano tmc 15 l
Can I put Pom Pom Xenia in it ? Thanks
(I’m new to the hobby)
Don't buy xenia, they cover their entire rock and then bud to another rock and take it over
so how would a person go about removing a coral frag from a plug? might be a good video segment.
Razor blade
Honestly I never looked up in this, I just jumped in didn’t even know I had to top up till the day I went to buy water for the tank 😂.. I learned after I got the tank
Sir will mentioned sps be OK without dosing ??
I have a question, i have yet to buy a coral and am in the market. The only concern i have that is holding me back from purchase is what to do with the coral? Do i remove it from the frag plug or rock it comes with? will that damage the coral, how delicate are they?
+Donovan Del depends on the coral. I got a shipment in on Friday and I had two corals on plugs. With one it was encrusted on the plug so I just simply cut the peg of the plug off. The other I completely removed the plug but the coral had not been on the plug very long.
In time most corals will completely cover the plug so it depends if you want to look at them until then.
Thanks for watching.
Donovan Del i
Holy shit, that beard is AMAZING
Crack to a reef enthusiast.
Thank you 😂
+TheBobby416 very much so. Thanks for watching.
No luck with zoas in my house tank , don’t know why they stay closed and they all die little by little
+CUBAN REEFER you my need to take them out and dip them. You could have a pest eating them.
Yep, there is a pest called the zoanthid eating spider which lays eggs in the zoa and when they hatch it's like the face hugger from the original alien movie.
Can we have a price
all clove , pipe organ corals video
Is to simply.....add pops up
Please I can't believe that I can start my tank straight with sps ...
Oh why I lushed my tank with softies my God ,, are you serious ?? Are these really beginner corals or sps beginner corals ?? Please reply
