I love the whole idea of carrying a pug nosed N frame as a ccw piece. It's a unique pistol that brings a bunch of pluses to the table that, individually, are common but are unusual to find together. Love it!
thanks my friend! I agree but I think carrying it is coming to a close...but I recently ordered a pocket holster for it. LOL. Let's see if it can be done.
Ever since you first posted a video of the Pug Nose, I had to get one, and I did. Glad to say I still carry it since then. It is the perfect revolver: light, powerful, GREAT capacity, and I believe it is the most scariest of antsy revolver I've ever seen! The terminator of CCW revolvers without a doubt!
Thanks! It has been a great ride with it. I plan to retire it shortly but... I did order a pocket holster for it that won't be in for 3mo!?!? But let's see if its possible, hahaha
lol people are crazy! I lile hearing stories of crazy unique situations that ccw made it possible to get out safely. i just started carrying in January i have the Xd 9 springfeild service model. ive watched all your story time vids and armered car. thanks for the reply i think your channel have the most practical info for every day carry
+Jaurhar Jackson yes some people are uh different. LOL. But i have a collection of "stories" I could re-tell but I like to gain the person's permission. Those armored car stories had to be deleted. Long story. Some got to stay up but most were deleted. Also a few other stories got deleted so I kinda stopped doing them. I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the kind words!!!!
this is true. I know this group of guys at the club and I call them the Gun Jewelry Crew as they seldom carry and they mainly collect high end guns and are so afraid to shoot them!? Its like why bother. Honestly I have no thoughts on the 327 Federal and do not know much about it. A ton of people ask me this but...I honestly do not have any thoughts on it. Maybe I should look into it
hey my friend! I will say you are correct on that. Really enjoyed carrying it but its time to retire it I think, LOL. I do have a pocket holster on order for it but it won't be here for 3mo!!! aw well. we'll see how that works
Guns with holster wear have so much character. I always love getting to see a police trade in Model 10 that looks like it's been to hell but still locks up tight. Glad to see the 327 again.
This is true...hey my Wilson is actually starting to show holster wear! I've been really practicing with it a lot... August I'm going to ramping it up with the Wilson so I think its gonna get beat up but I have a plan for it.
To become proficient with a revolver you must practice with it, you use short barrel formula ammo for carry but when using standard ammo all the speed that would bleed due to such short barrel...I personally carry the TRR8 IWB in winter time with no issue as I am used to full size handguns, and times transition to my Smith and Wesson 627-5 and same no issue, they both hold bullet velocity very well but man do I enjoy that TRR8.
So I'm a smaller dude. Im not too concerned with printing as i open carry and conceal carry. Im am ultimately concerned with reliability and comfort when carrying. Because I'm a little guy do you think it would be an issue with IWB carry?
Any wheelie IWB is not going to be the most comfy at all. Especially the 8-shot. I've IWB both the 8-shot and 6-shot and 7-shot. That cylinder is gonna press into ya so... but I tolerated it because it was important for me to carry it. So I just dealt with it. For IWB I found Milt Sparks makes some great wheelie holsters but..... they take forever. Lobo also makes them. I've used VM-2 for 686s and for this Pug Nose Lobo made one for me.
Man, I just love the Pugnose & these update vids! I don't know why I haven't bought one yet. I like my SP 101, but at 5 rounds vs. 8 on the hip for edc, it should be no brainer. I really don't know what's wrong w/me...
statistically speaking, your good to go with just the 5 rounds. almost all confrontations end with using only 1 to 3 rounds being fired. of course, there are those exceptions. that's why speed loaders was invented. but having 3 xtra rounds in the cylinder wouldn't hurt!
Feel the same way BUT very HAPPY 😊 WITH my (RUGER SP101) backed up by (SIG938) in 9mm special grip clip allows 7 PLUS ONE IN THE TUBE....BOTH WEAPONs are FLAWLESS and LIFE SAVING DEPENDABLE.
It does..it always grabs people's attention... I have been told its 24mo now. I don't get that. Maybe he is not really a business...or he has that many orders to fill and he is a one man shop. I've only heard good things about him. My friend has a few of his holsters for his 1911s but he did not wait years.
***** It might be like when Harley's had a waiting list? By the time the bike was in a lot of people bought other bikes and a guy could score a new bike with a lesser wait time/
Midway USA: www.midwayusa.com/product/854684/tuff-products-quickstrip-38-special-357-magnum-40-s-and-w-polymer-package-of-2-black A word of warning - when you first get them they will be very stiff to the point you might think they are defective. These things need a break in before they are pliable.
Would love to try one , have gotten to comfortable with my 43 for carry . I tend to be a creature of habit. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing
Great gun/video, love revolvers, have a Ruger RedHawk Kodiak .44mag. shoots accurate both single and double action. Should start carrying it in my Mernicle Holster. Still carrying my Glock 29.
I enjoy your videos thank you. I just sent my 327 pug nose back to smith for a loose barrel nut issue. Not to happy about that considering the low amount of rounds ran through it. about 200.using the same simply rugged holster thanks to you. I love shooting and carrying this gun and I hope this is not a reoccurring issue.
+TheOl1911 I'll have it back early next week.they replaced firing pin, realigned shroud and tightened barrel nut. About 3 weeks from when it left Michigan. They must be busy fixing a lot of PC models lol.
+bismofunyons stay tuned for an update vid on this. I noticed something recently and as soon as I have some time I'll do yet another update on the Pug....
Thanks man - but I will be retiring it shortly...however I did order a pocket holster for it (custom) but it won't ship for 3mo!??!? But I wanna see if it can be done, LOL. we'll see.
I forgot but back in 2015 it was like 1150 maybe? 21oz unloaded so for me that is really light considering I carried a Gov't size 1911 for most of my carrying life at 40oz+
Prefer a 2.5” mag-na-ported barrel ala Jerry Miculek and an adjustable hiviz front sight. In 2021 it should be modified to accept a micro red dot sight.
give Andrew leather a call. I had a 1911 holster mabe.. and it looks great. it took about 7 weeks before I got it. but it fits my kimber raptor really good
Need some advice please. My edc for the past 2 years is a Smith and Wesson 442. I absolutely love it. But I'm thinking about up sizing to a 6 shot like the model 10 or the Colt Detective Special. Those guns are beyond my finances, so I'm considering a Charter Arms Police Undercover or an Armscor M 206. Thoughts? Advice? Comments?
My .02 for what it's worth not being snarky just presenting some questions, I personally carry a 638...What is the justification for the change? Is one additional round worth the cost of a new gun even if it's budget friendly? Is recoil or "shootablility" the issue? Would you instead be more comfortable hunting around for a slightly used model 640 (5-shot .357) and loading it with .38s instead? There are a plenty of affordable Model 10 4" police trade ins floating around, have you considered getting one and having the barrel cut down? Have you looked into Ruger's offerings? On a personal note I've only shot a charter once (old school .44 spc bulldog) and it was decent; have heard good things about their current production stuff. As for Armscor I have no personal experience but have heard from a lot of people local and on forums that it's best suited for the tool box while working in the garage and not as a daily carry piece. Same with the Windicator revolvers from EAA.
+Solar_Empire Thanks for the input. I did see a slightly used 640 at a local gun store. It had been a Michigan State Police Backup gun, with a 2.125" barrel, and I drooled all over it. I couldn't get enough of a trade-in for my M&P45c. As to budget, that is a major issue. I really do like revolvers, and the extra weight for recoil control, plus the additional round are appealing to me. Do I NEED a new gun? No. My 442 airweight is perfectly adequate. I shoot it well. I guess I've just got new gun fever. From what I've seen on CZcams, and read in forums, 5 rounds of .38 Special +P should be more than adequate for any self-defense needs I might possibly encounter.
Armscor works flawlessly, mine does....very concealable...hits the targets every time, peace... also, it will handle +p the guy at factory recommended the +p for self defense, not for target practice...
Got the Rock Island M206 2" six months ago. Love the balance, the six shot capability, and like the plastic grips that came with it. Have a Smith 638, can't hit shit. Can't miss with the Rock Island: competed in a BUG match and came in solidly in the middle even tho many were shooting full sized autos. GL finding aftermarket grips, Colt detective grips won't quite fit (tried Hogue and pachmyyer). Holster fit is tricky also, as the top strap is beefier than most similar guns. Recoil is soft even with the heaviest loads.
Hehehehe. I don't know. There use to be a Narcotics Detective from Western MA that I talked to here on YT and he chose the 327 2" as his duty gun. He said it was perfect and on top of it he got some LE discount. He carried it with speed strips I recall. I think he said the only authorized round was Speer Gold Dot 135gr +p 38spl (not even 357mag?) Nothing wrong with that G36 though! I think the Pug will be a lot fatter and the whole manual of arms will change...
I do not blame you. I should do a vid on this topic (I have done j-frame vids in the past) but more recently I heard of a story of a guy at a public range shooting a 340PD (like mine) and he actually did damage to his dominant hand to the point he had to get surgery!!!! Everyone keeps saying this, LOL I've been meaning to take a closer look. He's old school in the sense you can't order online...gotta call - sorta like Milt Sparks
So many comment that say it is an ugly weapon however I totally disagree, I really like the looks of it. But more so than that I love the 8 rounds of .357 magnum lol. I may have to get one!
When I first saw this gun years ago the color scheme is what stood out to me from other revolvers. I think it looks good, i just can't justify spending that much on a revolver even though it holds 8 rds. Maybe one day when i have more of an expendable income.
Cylinder erosion from anything but shooting Gold Dots? Sounds like a piece of shit. If a firearm needs to be fed only specific rounds..it shouldnt be released for purchase.
I swear, the cylinder-to-frame size ratio of the S&W 327 reminds me of a Mazda Miata with Roots blown Chevy LS3 sticking out of the hood 😎
I love the whole idea of carrying a pug nosed N frame as a ccw piece. It's a unique pistol that brings a bunch of pluses to the table that, individually, are common but are unusual to find together. Love it!

That might lead to some very comical "is that an N frame in your pocket or are you happy to see me" type conversation
Pocket carry, how did that work for you ???
Your videos sold many 327s for S&W !
Wow that is awesome!!!! Good for you and glad it is working out!
That pug nose is still one of my favorite guns you've ever showed on your channel, I'm glad you did another update. I'm still on the lookout for one
Thanks! It has been a great ride with it. I plan to retire it shortly but... I did order a pocket holster for it that won't be in for 3mo!?!? But let's see if its possible, hahaha
*Very interesting the information on the revolver and the chargers. Congratulations Angel*
I thank you for all the vids you made about this holster
awesome, is yours not cut for moon clips, harder to carry than strips, but very fast if you can carry them.
lol people are crazy! what grips did you end up with on this? I like those better than the original and the hogues you put on
Good to see you still carry the pug nose.Great video.
Well its coming to a close... stay tuned, LOL
That’s a really nice piece I want one my self
The wear marks on the pug tell us a history of be carry for a long time and even look nice... Any thoughts about the 327 Federal?
this is true.
Maybe I should look into it
The color contrast is driving me crazy... so is the shortness of that barrel
Its driving me crazy because i want one but aint 21 😂
They should have named it the Pugly.
Yeah, it's about the only thing I don't like about it. The shortness, not so much. That's what I want. I want a 357-capable snubnose.
So don’t buy the shit
Thinking of picking one of these up.
Great weapon.😄 How accurate ?
Thanks for the update on the pug nose, kinda like an old friend.
hey my friend! I will say you are correct on that. Really enjoyed carrying it but its time to retire it I think, LOL. I do have a pocket holster on order for it but it won't be here for 3mo!!! aw well. we'll see how that works
+TheOl1911 good luck! Be safe, shoot straight and carry on.... Whatever it might be lol.
Oh wow lol, I def would not want to pocket carry that thing. But that would make a great backup seeing as how long you've been carrying it
Glad to see your still carrying it.
its really proven itself over the last 1.5yrs... may not be the "best choice" but I felt confident with it.
Guns with holster wear have so much character. I always love getting to see a police trade in Model 10 that looks like it's been to hell but still locks up tight. Glad to see the 327 again.

Curious, did Smith cover shipping both ways?
yes they did. they emailed me a pre-paid shipping label...and they shipped it back on their dime
TheOl1911 --did they email you when they got it or do they just fix it & send it back with no contact ?
Bro been looking to get a revolver for a off duty weapon, what do you think, right now I'm carrying a glock 36
That's a great idea to carry the pug as a backup to the Wilson
I don't know if its possible... but I ordered a custom pocket holster for it but there is a 3mo lead time... so we'll see.
My carry gun is a .357 mag Ruger LCR and I only use .38 +P because mag rounds just hurt going through it.
you should try winchester 110 gr in 357magnum , recoil isn't bad at all in the lcr with this load
I do not blame you. I should do a vid on this topic (I have done j-frame vids in the past) but more recently I heard of a story of a guy at a public range shooting a 340PD (like mine) and he actually did damage to his dominant hand to the point he had to get surgery!!!! So its no joke with these things...
me as a lefty i feel like the revolver is best for me do to the safety switch on most pistols its harder to disengage the safety switch if u are a lefty then it is if your a righty
They need to make suppressors for revolvers
hey can you do more story time type vids. those are sobering and good info to know

Awesome
Should've made it a hammerless 9 round 327 Federal Magnum imho. At least they almost got the name right.
Damn over $1000 that sucks.
Is S&W 327 bigger than Colt Detective Special?
I believe yes - N-frame is pretty big.
Yes, you are right. CDS is between S&W K and J frame by Wikipedia, but I always doubt in their data.

Normal wear give it character.
Acho essa uma excelente arma para porte, pois tem um tamanho discreto, 8 disparos e a simplicidade do revólver na hora de muito stress.
Try Andrew Custom Leather.I like his work.
Everyone keeps saying this, LOL I've been meaning to take a closer look. He's old school in the sense you can't order online...gotta call - sorta like Milt Sparks
I am thinking about getting the 327 for a carry gun,
Go for it! I'm actually having a pocket holster made for it, hahaha. And I have a new OWB by Kramer that's gonna ship in 2 or so months?!
I think I will,i just want to find a couple of good speed loaders that doesn't make noise lol
Yikes... A 327 2 inch on the ankle? Hmmmm, I 'll need to visit that ';-?
I know right? If you go back to my unboxing vid - I threw in a part of a Clint Smith DVD where he has it on his ankle. So I guess its doable
So many comment that say it is an ugly weapon however I totally disagree, I really like the looks of it. But more so than that I love the 8 rounds of .357 magnum lol. I may have to get one!
Same, its a Badass Color scheme. If i was 21 id buy one today

thanks will chk them out but not sure how practical it would be to carry it on the ankle - I guess if Clint Smith can do it well it can be done, LOL
Nice gun but pug nose is worthless in 357
John Wires --bullshit
That thing is almost as ugly as the Chiappa Rhino.
I just hate the 2 tone look... reminds me of my cap gun as a kid
barrel too short. ugly. no sale
Cylinder erosion from anything but shooting Gold Dots? Sounds like a piece of shit. If a firearm needs to be fed only specific rounds..it shouldnt be released for purchase.
That’s a really nice piece I want one my self
