Carlie is really smart she picked up on Silva's plan. He allowed killua to leave the house but told him "never betray your friends" knowing that illumi had planted a needle in him that would force him to run away when facing danger so at some point he would have betrayed his friends and came back home (which was Silva's plan)...But don't get it confused Silva told illumi to put the needle just to protect killua from dangerous situations, it's like bisky said a twisted kind of love

No but Zeno did tell Silva "I believe he removed illumi's needle" so you can just put the pieces of the puzzle together, why would his dad care about him not betraying his friends anyway?...By the way in the manga the story going forward doesn't evolve around Gon and Killua, it's all about kurapika, Gin, Pariston, the spiders, melody, the hunter association, hisoka, bisky, leorio some zoldycks and the princes of kakin fighting the succestion war on the giant ship while going to the Dark continent. Gon and killua are not evolved in the story
@@wassimsisko3908 I think that Silva genuinely told him not to betray his friends, although it is true that both Silva and Zeno knew about the needle.
That is, it was Silva's plan for Killua to return, but I don't think what he said was a lie, despite everything Silva seems the most reasonable of that family, and both he and Zeno seem to be people who would care about a friend ( although they don't really have any).
That's just my interpretation anyway.
I also think that is perfectly possibly that it is exactly what you said.
@wassimsisko3908 what bothers me about it is that it seems weird that Silva wouldn't think its possible for him to naturally do that. He is the child that's supposed to lead the family and you think he wouldn't be able to figure out the needle?
Sorry but if it weren't for bisky and morel telling him that he's a loser and that he's going to betray Gon at some point killua wouldn't have tried to fight that urge to run away and he would have abandoned Gon exactly as Silva planned, We mainly have bisky to thank@@Lloyd00
In the manga Gon always talked to Killua about Kite when they met at the hunter exam and when they returned to Whale Island, and at the beginning of this arc Gon immediately recognizes Kite. But I also see your point, since the anime was not faithful to the manga in that.

Ange, I get your point about Gon and Kite. I think you're right that they did not have that deep of a connection, or too much time together. What I think that happened is that Gon have felt as if Kite is the closest he has been to Ging. Like, Kite was there when he was a Kid, then supposedly Ging sent Gon to Kite (after the game), and Kite had a long-time relationship with Ging. So, I don't think this is funcional or healthy, but I think Gon is is not even aware that he has done that, he feels that Kite is like a fatherly figure, by transference.
Also as Killua stated a while back, Kite is the first "real" hunter they've encountered, one who treats them like peers rather than students or otherwise; it is hardly surprising that Gon would start to idolize him a bit. And then in the end, despite warning them multiple times that he wasn't going to coddle or protect them, he lost his arm because he instinctively moved to prioritize their safety. It's clear at this point Gon holds an enormous amount of guilt over Kite's fate
Yep, I had some Patreon members point that out too, and it’s a fair point. I still would’ve liked it to be more polished and fleshed out since its such a long arc, but I get your point.
@@CarlieAndAnge Something that’s important to remember is that Gon’s anger over Kite’s condition isn’t because he had some deep bond with him, but its because Gon feels responsible for it. I think if Kite had been taken out in some other way that had nothing to do with Gon, he wouldn’t be nearly as upset about it. Gon doesn’t know how to handle his guilt so he just transfers it into anger
@@CarlieAndAnge I think you guys should know that Kite and Gon relationship in the manga is deeper, the anime just fucked this up really bad, almost every detail that reactors feel confused when watching the anime get explained in the manga, somehow anime producers just like to cut short the original story and fill in with some unnecessary scenes

The simple fact is that Gon felt responsible and that's it. He stood up after being paralysed in the hunter exam to give Hisoka's tag back because he didn't want to owe him and he sulked in a tree because he got his pride hurt.
He didn't use his license until he felt he redeemed himself. His character has been like this consistently pretty much throughout each arc.
The thing that happened to killua's eye is shoot's ability hotel rafflesia. he can seal parts of his opponent in his floating cage when he touches them, and when he deals enough damage, he can seal his entire opponent. that's what he did to kite as well

@@tng2022Yeah I see it as you either gotta blame them all or blame none of them… Kites fate was already sealed once he lost his arm and Gin only got angry like after Kites arm was gone, so Gon brief outburst there before Killula KO’d him didn’t have any additional effect on the outcome. It was already a forgone conclusion by that, now Gon could’ve potentially cause him and Killula to lose their lives as well but luckily Killula was quick enough to prevent that from happening by KO’ing Gon.
TLDR: Kites fate had already been sealed the moment he lost his arm… so Gon’s sudden outburst in anger after the fact and Killula quick decision to KO Gon weren’t contributing factors in Kites eventually death.

The scissor guy didnt kill anyone important to Kurapika. The Genei Ryodan did. Do you go around judging everyone based on everything theyve done? Do you not care more about people who matter to you? @@AllTheArtsy be realistic. most people dont act like gon does. most people judge others based on their past actions. wether or not they matter or how much they matter can entirely be based on those past actions. gons character is interesting because he literally doesnt care about any of that. take killua for example. most people realistically would be terrified of him and wouldnt trust him as easily as gon did the second they found out hes murdered hundreds of people. hisoka is a better example, literally no one but gon would actually somewhat trust and be friendly towards him, unless theyre batshit insane. doesnt really matter if hes a child or not. children are pretty judgemental.
That needle was planted in Killua's head to protect him it also acts as his limiter because Illumi doesn't want Killua to fight stronger oppents that could potentially kill him. That is Illumi's way of protecting Killua and his own way of showing "love".

The reason there are only a few hunters dispatched was to keep the ants from becoming stronger. Average Pro hunters alone are struggling with a captain(pokkle vs the spider guy), so its easy for them to get captured and eaten to make a new soldier. Not to mention that less than a dozen hunters are made every year.
I love the fact that Ange realized that Gon is an emotional fighter, then Gon instantly starts to flashback to his emotions and memories. Put the fear of god into Morel. lol
I like to think part of Illumi's motive for planting the needle in Killua's head was a genuine desire to keep him safe by boosting his survival instincts. And if you haven't noticed yet, HxH is almost impossible to predict.

not much seams to realize that niddle was put in the hunter exam , when Ilumi ask hin to not move if he doesnt want to figth him... using zetsu he could mask that niddle and put it in. Most think he did since before but before was not necessary , he was use to follow orders and never questing it. But since gon it was the first time he was arguing and saying he will not do as Illumi wants. Probably the first order was to kill someone to fail the hunter exam. Gon didnt even see it but he says the same "he did something to control him" . All the nen Masters in that figth see it, Netero, Hizoka etc but no one could do or say a thing...

Kite was the son that Ging chose to have. If Gon failed Ging's chosen son, then that means Gon fails as Ging's unwanted son. And that's unacceptable. I think that's the point of the Kite relationship as depicted in the remake version of the series. In the original, Kite was the father that Gon never had, so Gon's need to save his "chosen father" would have made perfect sense. In this remake version, Kite was just another adult who showed up at the right time to help Gon get a bit stronger - aside from the backtstory he told to Gon, where he described being a child 'adopted' by Ging and placed on the 'hunter path' by that man, sort of like how Gon was placed on that same path by that man's absence from his life. Either way, Kite and Ging are twined together in Gon's mind in a messy way. I like both versions, to be honest. But I also like seeing people who watched the 2011 version wince at how strongly Gon feels for someone he (in that version) barely remembered and only spent a few days with.

Bro, why did the narrator say that Gon is 12? The minimum age to take the hunter exam is 12, it’s an annual exam and we know that it has taken place twice in the series so far, because Killua went and got his license in the Greed Island Arc. So him and Killua should at least be 13 at this point 🤨

23:10 Either way, Kite had already lost his arm by that point… (and was thus doomed to lose) they’re (Killula/Gon) just blaming themselves for being there period because he was distracted for brief second by turning towards them and telling them to run now but Pito surprised the whole lot of em by getting there and severing Kites arm in an insant. Gon then getting angry upon seeing Kite’s lose his arm there briefly before Killula knocked him out and ran didn’t have any more of an affect on the outcome of the fight. So really it’s you gotta either blame both of them or blame neither of them…
