23.369 pounds for US watchers
Damn! That's heavy!
Thank you 😂
Thanks dude!
I think you mean 29676.29 USD. The British use pounds
@@XYZdude00 no pounds in America is our unit for weight.
Who doesn't like the waffling? That is part of your charm. Can't wait to see what you can come up with the brass shavings. It will be interesting to see if brass reacts to resin.
Without the waffling, it might as well be a slide show that last about 20 seconds.
I've seen his earliest shows before he got comfortable to waffle, Zzz zzz. I'm kind of glad I came late to his videos, I might have given up.
His second channel is really great though - while the waffling is missing, he still puts out great content. I am enjoying both styles of video.
I love the waffle. I watched one video on his second channel by accident, and was disappointed. To each their own, though!
I love the waffles!
Next episode : we watch as Nick attempts to go through a metal detector at the airport….. 😂. Another great piece of art!
😂😂😂
First thought: Are you trying to destroy your wood tools?
Final thoughts: Stunning! I can't wait to see what you do with the shavings.
Pretty much! 😂
Brass is soft enough you can use wood working tools on it without damaging them if you go easy and don't take heavy cuts...
Aluminum is too...
@@HappilyHomicidalHooligan the lathes bearing weren't meant for such loading... if you watch carefully, you can see the chuck (& therefore your lathe spindle ) deflecting when you plunge cut... 🙄😂
...or lungs.....
So glad you stuck with it brother. I have 2 year old twins. Your pumpkin video popped up in the recommended feed, they saw it and they had to watch it. You are now our calm down the twins videos.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Those that don't enjoy the waffling are soulless. I understand appreciating the art in what you do, but hearing your thought process during creation is a huge bonus.
Keep Waffling On!
What a gorgeous project. Absolutely beautiful. Your skills are unmatched by anyone I’ve seen. Please continue in this format. Your personality is just as important as your presentation. Thank You
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto!!
An epoxy sphere would look cool setting in it
Brilliant idea! Perhaps one with the brass and other metal shavings inside.
Two words good sir...machinist lathe!
Seriously though, well done sir!!
Yes. We boys actually had those available to use in "shop class" in the late '50s when we were in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Sadly, today's parents would probably freak out if their early teen boys had access to powerful machines.
Hand whittling a chungus of brass that big is pretty ballsy, man. Hats off!
Your waffling is art!!! Never stop! Love Love Love it!!! Odd? Never!!!
Work smarter not harder is my mantra for basically everything now.
Love your videos! I bought a lathe and started turning because of your videos! First thing I made was a pen out of resin and it turned out amazing! You are the one who taught me how to turn! By the way, my first lathe is the same size as yours and everyone thought I was crazy 😂 also, I have a seizure disorder and turning is what relieves my stress. It’s part of what saves my life! Thank you for sharing yourself with us and teaching us!
One thing I have always wanted to see though is a beginners video. Just one for beginners with rules of the trade and tips for success! Again, thank you for sharing and keep them coming! I love watching from start to finish, something about it is so relaxing!
Watching at 4:17am Saturday in the US. I had to pull a 11 hr work day. But I'm always a follower and waffle on!!! 💯💯💯
I like the waffle. Don't change the weird, you be you. Love the piece ❤🎉
I’m not sure about in the UK, but in the USA you can go to a local tool or steel supplier and buy sticks of high speed steel. If you decide to do more project like this, and I hope you do because it’s beautiful. You could make your own tools for these kind of projects that will hold up to cutting the brass a lot better. I love your videos. Keep them coming.
I would love to have this kind of option in Portugal (or Europe) been looking for several days a place to buy rods and blocks of brass to try to make some custom tools and marking stamps an can’t find anywhere….
@@BrancoWorks option here are not as good as it used to be. It used to be that even the small hardware stores carried stuff like that back when mining was big. They don’t anymore. We can still get it but you have to drive a good distance to find the metal these days.
Enjoyed this, did not realize you could ‘turn’ brass. Wow, it turned out gorgeous
I've had to hand turn small brass components in the past, so I am very aware of how difficult it is to "wood turn" brass, my hat off to you for such an impressive result Nick!
Stunning, I loved the spindle as art in its own right. A fantastic piece. You’re so talented. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you so much 😀
@@nickzammeti Great video, would the cut have been faster anmd or smoother to have it spinning and THEN use the hacksaw? just curious
Next time try using carbide tip tools. And it's always a good thing to add a little bit of lubricant (wd-40) to help with the cutting process. Other than that this piece turned out amazing!
Slow the speed down too. Metal on metal, even soft metal creates a lot of heat which because of the workpiece mass, is only felt by your tools.
Nick, this is the most beautiful turned piece I have ever seen!
Thanks for sticking with it!
Also, I personally think waffling videos are the best❤
I've watched a couple without and it just wasn't the same. I absolutely love the gems you make Nick!!
Best protection I've seen 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely gorgeous work and I hope that the tools weren't too ruined!
That looks amazing!! 👏👏👏 I think making a chalice with the remaining piece of brass would be nice. 🙌
The most beautiful and hardest to turn creation. Thanks for showing us your protection and how difficult this was. I'd love to see you do some turning with copper..my favorite metal. Love the waffle, Nick! 💜💜💜
I'm thrilled you went from almost leaving us to starting a second channel. ❤😊
Oooooh, shiny! I love shiny things 😍 I was acutally waiting for the whole thing to just fly off the lathe - glad it did not. It is absolutely stunningly beautiful. Would be a perfect jewel box if you put in some red or purple felt... Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend yourself. We are getting snowed in right now - everything is white including the sky 😆
This is absolutely beautiful! I havnt watched your videos in a while due to depression but oh wow how i missed your content and yeah this is so beautiful! Its awesome to see you still making videos and keeping it original! Thank you ❤
I know how you feel. I hope you feel better soon though. Never easy to go through depression.
Tis the season, hang in there. Get as much sun time as you can,, really helps, as does taking vitamin D supplements.
Its the worst time of year for the majority of those of us with depression; sometimes ya just gotta hang on teeth-and-toenails til you come out the other side.
May your holiday season grant you peace and resilience!
You kidding, this kind of stuff is my go to when I'm too depressed to actually do anything useful. Someday maybe I'll try my hand at some actual project of my own but in the meantime I live vicariously through others' videos of doing cool stuff
💝💐
This is stunning! You made a good decision to cut the finial down. The wood and milliput bands enhance the piece beautifully. I can't wait for a project with the shavings. Something with an internal light, perhaps?
It was a crazy idea, Nick, turning metal on a wood lathe but the result is outstanding. My favourite part was at 15.15 when the wood was transformed with the addition of a coat of finish. Have a good weekend yourself 🌞
You've outdone yourself, Sir, that was not an easy project and it's amazing! Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love that you are using such a variety of materials. Another great project. Your waffling and personality are a great addition to your projects.
That’s awesome. I’ve made similar but with a metal lathe. The problem is it’s not as fluid with the movements as you can be by hand.
Looks heavy but love it!
It's beautiful. That's for the person who has everything. Good job 💜
Hey all, hope you like this video , tell me what you think I should do with the savings?
That is absolutely gorgeous! It shined up so well. I can only imagine how satisfying the weight and heft of the piece feels
I think you can get specific metal.turning tools. Also, they're often turned in enclosed lathes which spray an oily liquid to cool and lubricate.
However you've done a fantastic job there.
I think some finer grade wet and dry for getting a perfect mirror finish is all thats really needed, oh and dont use Brasso, use Peek as it's less abrasive than Brasso (which peversely scratches the metal).
Excellent as ever, and bonkersly entertaining.
This reminds me of a conversation I had with my metal shop teacher about how he thought artists don’t use these techniques correctly. Mr. Beam was a gruff old guy who punished us by making us sit in the class and play with a gigantic nut and bolt because that was all we were good for 😂 Love that old Dude. That is how I got interested in the metal lathe, playing with the bolt. 😂
Nick, I can’t speak for everybody but I am really impressed with that one. I’d like to have two of them made for jewelry boxes they would be great. Sincerely, Chuck.
Such an elegant piece Nick, absolutely love it!❤️❤️❤️
I love it when it gets shiny! It’s one of those things where I can hear the little Elf of Anxiety in my brain sigh of relief. I swear your videos are mental health medication ♥️
Lovely job, Nick - and you're absolutely right about the finial! ❤
I'll take you're waffling any time! Awesome project!
Another entertaining video. The perfect mix of waffle and performance.
The brass pot really looks good, loved the long spire but the smaller one is better proportioned. Looking forward to how you use the brass shavings. And what you are going to do with the rest of the brass.
Thank you 🙏🏽
Wow that turned out amazing I wasn’t sure what to expect that’s a heavy piece of brass I love this channel and all the waffling
I must say, as a retired metal worker, (Welder, Machinist, and Fabricator) that you are pretty brave to cut metal with wood turning tools. For me, anything less than carbide tooling would be so time consuming that it would never be worth the effort. Kudos on this project. It takes skill to combine metal of any sort with wood to create. and, it takes a very wild imagination. Well done.
I feel like wood turners are feeling your pain but machinists are going nuts watching this lol
_You_ are _not_ little Nick...
🤭😄
This is beautiful!!! As you said.
Nick, this is so beautiful. I absolutely love it. It's always a good day when I see that you have uploaded a new video. Waffle on my friend
Can't wait to see what you do with the shavings.
This piece turned out beautiful ❤️
I prefer the waffles, personally. I find you to be quite entertaining and educational. I want to learn how to turn stuff and I first found that interest from your videos. So, you've helped inspire me. Waffling on has taught me and made me chuckle on more than one occasion!! Keep up the good work!
I could watch brass being turned for hours. (I have watched brass being turned for hours.) Loved this. I bet after the brass, turning the finial felt like cutting butter!
If you could add black and silver to it 🤤 lol all those colors plus the wood would look devastatingly beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is why your the KING or turning, as always, Warren
I agree 💯% it wouldn't be your charm without it . That's one thing I love the best about you is sense of humor .😂😂
Now why would people think you're weird? 🤪😂 That turned out so beautiful😍 glad you kept it straight and minimalistic. And every time you show the lathe spinning in slow motion my heart stops😂❤
Love it and keep waffling. 🎉
Turning brass with woodworking tools, you've got balls, brass ones. ... I really liked the pot you made.
Haven't seen you turn a finial in years. Gorgeous piece.
That came out beautiful!! I love it!! Great job!!😊🎉❤
Actually, Nick, what I am thinking is, "Oh well, there go the wood turning tools." .
DJ Nick Z gettin' brassy and sassy!!!
Now that's a chop bowl!!😍 "if you know you know"😁
Really nice project. Two blows on the trumpet at least!
Good call on the finial-it was definitely too tall at first. The jar is lovely! Really like the wood with the brass. Great job, Nick!
You should use the solid brass as 'fillers' for your pours. Then you wouldn't waste so much material and resins when turning them. And yes, keep the waffling. That is true 'Nick' and we love Nick!
Just about halfway through and Nick still hasn't gotten some METAL turning tools for this job... Dude, I really hope you don't end up ruining your tools
Very nice Piece! The Wafflin gets me right in the Brass! LMFFAO!
Brass work hardens i believe, so you need to anneal it to make it soft
Completely amazing. I love your waffling about! You could try using the shavings in making those drop pot thingies. Just a little idea.😉 Anyway whatever you come up with will be cool.
Turning metal! Let’s see more metal projects. Cheers, Nick!
The weird is the best part of your videos 😂
I wonder what you could do with the brass casing from a spent military canon shell.
Now I'm wondering the same!
This piece is beautiful!! And yes, I love your unique personality and your waffling!!
Finally something stylish, Nick! 😁💪🏻
Another great project! So nice to not see any resin for a change. Woud love to see more pure wood and non-resin projects.
It's so beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous! Well done Nick! 😊❤
Incredible piece of work! That took a jumble amount of patience 🎉
I love the waffle! I'll always watch till the end! Great video, as always! I look forward to the next one! 😁
Ooooo! Shiny!!! 😍 Such a Beautiful, classy piece. Amazing job! So Glad it did not fly off! Looking forward to what you do with the shavings.
Nick, this came out beautifully. I’ve seen folks have good results turning brass with the tools used for turning steel. But incredible work, I’m glad you stuck with it. Thanks for the great video!
Nick, that is amazing... Absolutely stunning piece!! And who doesn't love your waffling!? Whoever they are, they're in poor taste... I always enjoy all of your videos, no matter what you happen to be doing! Much love and light to you, Nick, and anyone else who may read this.
As a machinist, using the wood tools to turn brass had me on edge, but the glove wearing using the lathe nearly gave me a heart attack.
I was cringing so hard with the gloves. Thank you!
That will make a beautiful jewelry box.
Beautiful just Beautiful
Absolutely stunning work Nick!❤
Creativity isn't limited to only one material. Again he overcomes his waffle!
That brass project is absolutely gorgeous. It actually reminds me of the communion wafer container that was used at my church when I was a kid.
Would love to see a resin pour with the shavings!
There was definitely some heavy metal waffling in this video I do love it keep it up
I got my wife hooked on your channel. She loves your show.
I never knew you could turn brass. That is so cool!
Beautiful ashtray. 😍
Absolutely amazing. Worthy of the trumpet blow.
I love your neon sign!
Very nice brass box
Thats GORGEOUS! Truly elegant!
Nick ,
Absolutely gorgeous project as usual. You're so talented. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Much appreciation and love from the US. Stay safe and waffle on my friend
Can't wait to see what you do with the shavings
