Can you Woodturn Beer Caps, Crown Caps? - Dangerous but lets find out !!
This is dangerous so please don't try this at home. I will attempt to turn these beer bottle caps and crown caps on the lathe, after we have sunk them into epoxy resin for a few days. This will be very interesting to see as i have no idea what is going to happen to this! Stand By.....

Keep on, keeping on Nick! What a project, the bottle caps are funkadelic! And your dash of humor makes my day. 😂❤
If I remember correctly... Its Red Dogg beer. If you look at it just right... They say its Batman doing something naughty with his tongue. 😋
I wonder how many people rewound to see? OK so I did.
NICK I NEVER CEASE TO BE AMAZED BY THE UNBELIEVABLE FANTASTIC THINGS YOU CREATE DAILY I DO NOT THINK YOUR IMAGINATION HAS ANY END BOUNDARY LINE FROM WHAT I SEE I ALWAYS GET EXCITED TO SEE WHAT YOU CREATE NEXT STAY SAFE HEALTHY STRONG AND BLESSED NICK
not a leak, there was too much air under the caps, should've used a vacuum chamber. Also why dont you have a round container? PVC pipe, cut in half, screw brackets to hold it together, fill, its round, less work.
Thank for making something with the bottle caps I sent you. That is so cool.
They turned into one of his best! Glad you contributed to Nick's channel :) Very cool!!
If you've ever played Fallout, you should have kept those for when the world goes boom. New currency!
It might sound silly, but thank you for showing yourself using the proper safety gear. Too many channels don't, so I try to thank the ones who do.
I’m with you and I don’t think it’s silly at all. Using proper safety gear is how one keeps from losing an eye etcetera.
Agreed. I always love seeing the safety gear too. It also sets a really good example for young makers that may be watching. Safety is very much NOT silly 👍🏻
Much like a seatbelt, you don't think you need it until you do.
I agree, that was my first thought when he first started turning. That is the way to be a good example for others. And I thought the little pot was really cool.
Not silly at all I’ve worked with so many people that wouldn’t wear PPE trying to be macho. They were the ones always hurting themselves and covered in bandages.
CZcams may have done nick dirty by not alerting his subscribers of new uploads but week after week Nick continues to wrap a smile on his face and deliver top tier pun filled hilarious content! That’s why I’m a subscriber for life! Also well done that turned out so cool!
Ps I love how you kept the top all rugged! It adds a super cool contrast to the polished base!
I just spent the last hour talking to "you" and you told me I'd won a jacket and Iphone but needed to pay shipping!!!! 🤣
Dude, it’s never rubbish what you show us, and even when it doesn’t turn out how you thought, we enjoy the video! I mean, there are a lot of people making videos about resin stuff and turning. We aren’t watching those. We are watching you. Always watching…. But not in a creepy way!
I’d love to see more leaf projects! That one turned out wicked!
The red bulldog is called Red Dog by Miller Brewing 😉
I thought it was mad dog lol at least In Indiana that’s what they called it
I think the bulldog got the chop..can't see him in the mix now...👀..oh well still fun to watch ..
@@kingnugget7553 maybe it is down there but up here in Ontario it was Red Dog. My Ex loved to drink it. Was cheaper then Canadian or Blue. LOL😊
Bud is defintely American and the Labatt Blue is Canadian, the rest I have not idea about as I am from Germany😂I was actually expecting metal shrapnel zapping through the workshop which luckily didn't happen. And I must say the end product is definitely worth it - it's super funky, I love it 😍Just gotta be careful with the cover - easy to cut your fingers but hey, who cares 🤣Stay crazy and have a nice weekend everybody!
In Canada, Labatt's won't have "Imported" on it, obviously.
The B is Brewer’s Best
@@HimmelsDaemon Seagrams Palm Trees? I'd have gone with the Fallopian Falls.
Corona is a Mexican beer and I like that one a bunch! A twist of lime makes it perfect. Did not drink the water on my many trips to Mexico but I sure did drink beer. Mexico, Central American, and Caribbean island nations all have some excellent beers.
Also, water isn’t bad in most of these places but it has different “stuff” floating in there than what one is used to and therefore can upset the tummy.
I see a bunch of Mike's hard lemonade tops
I love how you do experiments that no one else would even consider. Plus you are so Mad Professor when you do. You always make me laugh..Even better is what you make from the “experiment” Keep it up Nick you make our weeks😊
Very good!
I have to admit I didn't think this was going to end without injury. BUT thank you for persevering. I think this is one of the most unusual and beautiful vessels you've ever made !!! 👌👍
"Wibbily, Wobbily, Whymey, Timey Stuff"
It did turn out REALLY nice! I didnt think you could make anything from metal bottle caps, but I enjoyed watching you create such a lovely box. It would look very good in a true man cave!
Thanks Nick!
The Red Bulldog Head is for "Red Dog" Beer.
Mike's is "Mike's Hard Lemonade" (a Lemonade flavored Malt Liquor).
I wasn't sure this would work, and figured it would chew up your tools, but it turned out pretty cool!
It's always interesting to watch how someone adjusts & adapts to unexpected challenges, especially when they can see it through to completion!
Nice Job, NZ!
When you first started on this Piece, I thought "What on Earth is he gonna make with ALL THOSE CAPS?!" Turned out REALLY WELL!!!!
Love your videos!!
From a small farming village in Pennsylvania, USA!!
The gold cap with a red eagle on it is Yuengling beer pronounced ( ying- ling) America's oldest brewing company, it's birth place and where the headquarters, plant, museum is in Pottsville Pa about 14 miles south of me. 😁
Love your personality and humor...your projects are amazing and so interesting to watch.
Thank you for the smiles you bring.
Love and blessings to you from Pennsylvania 🇺🇸✝️😃
Where are you from? I'm originally from Hazleton. I'm in Mountain Top now.
NE Ohio here!! O! H!
I! O! ... Akron here
Michigan here!!
guess where I'm from!😉
Absolutely love it!! Your videos are so hilarious, it's just what I need for a bad week I've had! Thank you Nick and as always, keep calm and waffle on my friend 💜☺️ happy days ☺️💜
"We can't leave it like that, can we". To go where no bottle cap has gone before. Dude you are nuts and we bloody love it !!!!!!!
I am a Spanish speaker and I love practicing my English with your videos!! This piece is amazing!!
I love how willing you are to try anything, and this one came out amazing!
It actually looks cool as a block of caps. Before you turn it lol. I liked the happy accident at the top too. How their not submerged at the top, like they're just thrown in. Very cool. Can't wait to see what you did with it
Lousiana girl here, Red Dog beer is an old staple in the south. That was bad ass my friend, nail biting to the very end. Nascar driver Rusty Wallace drove for them, my mom got to meet him when she raced mini grand prix.
My daughter and I love you Nick. Your content gives us more to do together. Thank you for all you do. We are deeply saddened by the recent news. We will continue to watch as long as you create. Much love from Southern California.
I didn't think that was going to be that rough to do with just bottle caps but when it flew off I thought that was it, but you made it ROCK!
Seeing that Red Dog cap reminded me of my childhood. My mom and grandpa both drank it when they didn’t have Miller or Budweiser
My first thought was omg red dog. I haven’t seen that since I was like 8 when my aunt drank it all the time .
Nick, the first time my son showed me one of your videos, I could only say, in the Texas way, "That boy ain't right." (My grandma was born and raised there, so was my father). It means "He's plain crazy". But you're brilliant crazy, and you create gorgeous things all the time! Now and then things don't work, but more often than not, they do. You've got that rare gift for making beauty out of stuff that other people would dismiss as having any possibilities. You are creating beautiful stuff! And your videos are wonderful. Keep going, kid. You're touched with genius. Outstanding!
Definitely a win in my book ! 👊🏻😁🇦🇺🇺🇸
@Message me on telegram @NickZammeti Bugger off you scamming monkey
Love all your video's, don't know why people don't watch to the end thats where some of the best stuff is!! This was amazing to watch!! Blew me away with how well it turned out!!
I think Julie is correct about the blue caps.
Another amazing project, Nick! The lines made by the caps that you cut into really give it a fascinating look! And, by the way, i always make it to the end! LOL Cheers Nick!
Nick, you're my favorite weirdo! This has got to be one of the strangest turnings I have ever seen... Not sure if you have ever played Fallout, but seeing this made me think of how expensive this bowl would be in the Fallout universe because all the currency is in bottle caps. Thanks for some funky inspiration! Big up from upstate NY!
I honestly didn't think this was going to work, right up until you put the Yorkshire Grit on it. Then - wow! Absolutely fab.
Just as dangerous as the steel wool. ☠🔥🤣
I'm hurting over your tools being put through another round of metal on metal. May there edges be forever sharp!
Nick, thanks for another incredible video! So excited to see it this morning. I love that there is no quit to your creativity and that, when things go wrong, you keep working through. Can’t wait to watch again with the family!
Thanks so much! x
I have to admit I spent the first half of the video waiting for it to fly off of the lathe. I’m glad you didn’t get hurt. I love the look of the lid!!
One of your best projects yet. I love your willingness to challenge yourself at every opportunity. Your picture should be next to the word Candid.
Glad to see you use carbide tools. I do believe steel tools would have been a disaster. Turned out pretty nice. Thanks for sharing Nick. Stay safe!
That was touch and go for a bit! Love the idea and would love to see an ice bucket for a pub done in the same style!
Like you said, the bigger projects and vids are worth waiting for....😘
The Labatt’s blue is a Canadian beer. It’s one of my dads old faves from when he could still drink (health issues have made it unsafe for him to have alcohol) but I now can enjoy it for him ;) in fact he makes his own beer using kits and I again get to enjoy the drinks made . It’s fun. Few months back we even made wine .
I am more and more amazed at your talent. I absolutely didn't t think that would look good and you would have to buy a whole new set of tools. But you proved me wrong! Amazing job!
You’re so entertaining,Nick. Thank you. Your projects are awesome. I enjoy your channel. ❤
I was expecting a total disaster on this one, but it turned out looking really nice. Always interesting to watch these videos and to be surprised by the results 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This turned out WAY better than I expected! Bravo!
I am shocked… I had my hesitation whether it would work, but it actually came out looking great! Love that you kept the top raw!!!
My favorite spots are where the the top of a cap is gone and you look through the ring of what's left.
Nick, that 5 minute epoxy you use to attach your emblem is what you should use to attach your work to your scrap box. Ben over at BensWorx marks up the bottom of this work with a screwdriver to get a surface that will hold, then uses the 5 minute epoxy to hold it down to the scrap block.
I think it's Sprague Woodturning? who takes a bunch of hot glue sticks, melts them in a hot plate, and just has a pan full of hot glue that he just dips the project into to stick it down. The benefits of hot glue being easy to remove, either with a little heat, or a scraper dipped in acetone as Peter Brown does it, as well as not needing to mix it, and technically reusable, all while being very very strong like 5 minute epoxy is. More of a quantity > quality thing there lol, but I think more makers should do that, seems to work out for him
Hey Nick awesome resin art I find it to be a masterpiece. Try the plastic caps next as you have an easier time shaping plastic bits in resin. By the way I think but not sure that cap with the Red Dog on it is actually called Red Dog.
Yup, do they still make that?
LOVED THIS!! Fantastic outcome.
I honestly didn’t expect somebody as goofy as Nick to be so talented. Pleasant surprise.
Always love your videos Nick. Looks beautiful. Great job.
I'm surprised how well that came out! I do like the top alot. Hoping you are taking care of yourself? I enjoy your videos, miss the every week, but take whatever time you need for yourself and family. I will be here for whatever and whenever. Btw: watching this Friday 9/30 @ 2:15 am. CT USA.
Amazing, I didn't think it would work, pleasantly surprised.
Elegantly simple, and amazingly awesome!!!
Corona is from Mexico, Mikes and Budweiser are definitely from USA, the Maple Leaf labels are probably Canadian. The resin dish came out cool. I like the inside view. I wouldn’t mind watching larger projects that take more than one video to complete. Keep up the lathe turning. I need to get my lathe out of the box and get turning.
So many microbreweries in the USA now though my town has 30,000 people and 4 microbreweries and one regional brewery.
That turned out awesome! It would look great sitting on a bar in someone's mancave. On a technical note, seems like 5 minute epoxy would be a better choice for gluing the blank to the base, especially when it is tricky to support the other end. It takes a little longer to completely cure, but I was thinking you were putting a lot of faith in that hot glue.
I really loved how this turned out -- seeing the cut edges of the metal lids was particularly pretty. It amazes me how the most ordinary things can be made into something beautiful with a little imagination (and good carbide tools!)
LOVED it! I was so happy it turned out!
The red bulldog one is called bulldog and is actually from Miller in USA. It is their lager. I really thought you were going to bust up the tools alot worse! Good spinning! And great presents for a dad, uncle or significant other. Thanks for such great entertainment especially at 3am with a tooth ache!
The bulldog is from Red Dog beer.
@@IamLinda_ oh ok I guess I got them mixed up, thank you. I don't drink but a friend was big into lager and it looked like that. Or maybe I got the name wrong all together 🤣.
haha thank you Dea x
Red Dog, Miller High Life is also known as The Champagne of Beers.
I thought it was from mad dog 2020
I love how when stuff is trapped en massein resin, it looks like a 3d photo, I dunno know to explain it any better. Great video as always!
That is one of your better pieces in a long time for me. That is truly epic!
I think they may be from Canada not the USA. The one called "Blue" has a red maple leaf as a symbol, which is from the Canadian flag.
Yeah, that’s Labatt Blue and it’s from Canada. We do get it here in the states tho. Just another skunky Canadian beer. Yuck.
I think that most of them are from Canada.... I recognize most of them that were made here in Canada
We have most of those in the US too. But when people think the USA and beer it’s normally PBR, Bud, Miller or Corona. Because you know movies and TV.
@@kylahyoung6774 I was just making an educated guess due to the maple leaf. I haven't drank in DECADES (diabetic), but when I did it was always PBR, preferably dark on tap, but that was more than 40 years ago.
@@juliebaker6969 I hope I didn’t sound standoffish. I don’t drink either I’m also a diabetic. I just had a neighbor that owned a bar and a former classmate that works in a liquor store I see from time too time. But you were right with the one called Blue.
Brilliant, one of the best things you’ve made. You deserve a medal for sticking with it. Your logo disc would have looked great casually sitting in the resin with the bottle tops! 👏
I love the way this turned out.
Fun colorful project! Thanks for sharing Nick!
the first one you picked up when you said "they must all be american" was actually canadian 😂
(but it was probably sold in america since it says "imported" on it)
I cringed for your poor tools on those metal caps! But the project came out great!! I really like how you’ll give just about anything a go. See you in the next one!!
Oh and Mike’s is lemonade with a kick, I didn’t get a good look at most of them.
Wow looks brilliant! Love the effect.
The CZcams algorithm has brought me back to one of the first channels I ever subscribed to. Nice. My black cat enjoys watching you make these funky pieces. 😂 Who knew?!
I have to admit it turned so much better than I expected! Much love from Greece!
That is Definitely the most beautiful turning that I have ever seen. I watch other wood, wood/resin turners and this one right here is the Best by far.
I'd also like to Thank You for showing your safety gear that you wear. Also want to Thank You for keeping it real instead of editing that part out when it popped off and hit the floor. Glad that you didn't get hurt through it.
Take care and God Bless You.
One of my favorite project. That came out fantastic!!!!!
I think it turned out wonderfully..way to go!
Awesome! Love to have one myself.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
Impressive result!
This turned out really great!
That turned out great!! I love it!!
Wow that turned out really cool
As ever, a great video Nick. Thanks for always pushing those boundaries.
That is really cool! The lid doesn't really look like a lid. It makes me thing its a container over filled with bottle caps. Great Job!
Outstanding!! thanks for posting!! very entertaining as usual!
Both my wife and I really enjoy your videos and the projects you produce. The humor is hilarious and keeps us amused. Thanks again Nick, it's always a joy when we see you have new content available to all of us.........Bill & Diane from Colorado
This is honestly one of my favorite projects of yours.
Honestly one of the most unexpected and wonderful project I’ve seen on this channel. Definitely a favorite
Brilliant project Nick! Absolutely love it xx 😘
This is actually one of my favorite pieces of yours
Love it and glad you left the top the way you did. Super cool!
This is one of my favs of yours! Loved how it turned out!
So good to see you wearing proper gear for the fabulous project....I love it! It would be a proud addition to any man's man-cave 👍🏻💖💞💖😊
AMAZING WORK!
I really thought that would fail, amazing job sir!
Surprisingly beautiful results. I really like the wavey silver lines created by the cross sections of the lids.
Thanks for another fantastic video for my 7yr old's bed time routine. She's pumped every time like "let's see if Nick has a new one!"
Even pushes up my hair up like yours while we watch 😂
Cheers!
Absolutely amazing 👏 😍
Thats incredible!!
super cool! love it.
You did a great job, Love the way it turned out.
I really appreciate that you show the whole process even when things don't go to plan, and the I have no idea if this will work but let's give it a go anyway attitude. Thank you for showing how it really is 👍
Fantastic job, really love the final product ♥️
i admit it turned so much better than i thought it would. great work nick
LOVE the results though! 💕
That was incredible.
Awesome! I love the finish on the cover, brilliant 👌
Another Entertainment Expedition w/ Nick Zammeti sooooooo good
