I love that joe takes serious issues and makes people listen by making it funny
That's the beauty of comedy. George carlin too
I actually cried. This was so sweet and taking the time to use your platform to change these policies and work to rally grassroots and local communities is so touching. Thank you to Joe Lycett it really means a lot and making bureaucracy fun and funny
I was just about to say that same thing
saw these two judging a drag show in Birmingham, their comedic chemistry is amazing
Very well done, Joe! I can't believe you got my council to actually *do* something - that's amazing! 😍
I do a lot of beach cleans and I'm sick and tired of dealing with things as problematic as polystyrene bodyboards, dumped on our beaches throughout every summer season by tourists. Thank you for helping us to protect these special places x
You would love Ocean Conservation Namibia. They go out and rescue entangled seals.
@@shalacarter6658 They sound fab! We have British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) who do very similar work, by the sounds of things. They've even set up a Seal Hospital in Cornwall to take casualties to when they need some further assistance /R&R before they're released back to the wild. It's awesome! 🤩
I just LOVE how ginny looks like Joe's imaginary friend in this
They are Jim imagined really really hard and Ginny fell out Joes head and ran off to london
And Jo Brand looks like Joe's fairy godmother
If there's this much of a problem with recreational plastic waste in a tiny island like the UK then the worldwide problem must be massive.
I love this show. It’s a good laugh but gets things put right too. Well done Joe and team.
This is from Bude in Cornwall!! Grew up there, a beautiful town and close community 🤍
Yes Joe, he’s a legend! More tv like this might make a difference to the world
If you go to Indonesia, you can see kids in a whole village share and arrange time to play with limited number of boards they have, and they take care of boards so carefully because they cannot keep buying and throwing them away. It is sad to see somewhere people have so much of everything and just disregard the environmental impacts they cause to the nature.
Channel 4, please never stop hosting Joe. I look forward to every upload. 🥰🥰
"How can we, as a local council, stop someone from selling something?"
Isn't that your job?
Kind of suggests he doesn’t understand what councils can do, which is worrying
Oh my god. As a cornish woman I absolutely hate when tourists come down and feel they have the right to treat locals like their servants and leave all their rubbish everywhere. Treat us like we should be grateful they are here but realistically they just ruin our beautiful shorelines and countryside. A family had rubber rings they didn't need anymore because they were going back home and were just leaving them on the beach and just left them. I said they needed to take them off the beach because they would float out to see where there is a local sea lion family that could potentially get trapped or whatever. They absolutely kicked off at me but I stood my ground and said they needed to remove it from the beach
FANCY A SLIIIIIIICE
The boards could also be donated to sew the covers over the styrofoam, onto the the bases of small/medium dog beds, to get them off concrete or tiled floors, to make them warmer for dogs.
The dog beds can either get mouldy, if not aired regularly, or sitting directly on concrete/tiled floors, it can make the beds quite cold. The concrete sort of sucks all the body warmth from the dogs body. The styrofoam is a great insulation.
Absolutely love Ginny, bring her back for everything please 😆
The zoom call showed some interesting stuff. Norfolk seemed a little lost, one of them said he doesn't know how to stop shops selling them what? If all beach councils agree, elevate it and make it a nation ban?
I got my kid a cheap board at the beach. We took it home, stored it, take it back every year. There's no need to be so wasteful and toss them aside like that. At least find someone else who wants one and pass it along
The thing I hate about Joe Lycett is he won’t hang out with me. I mean I haven’t asked but I feel like he should ask me haha.
If Joe Lycett and Simon Brodkin ever team up they could be an unstoppable heroic force!
Joe, could u pls become the coast ambassador, dog poo ambassador, prime minister etc. Thank you, the uk public 💚💙
I think Prime Minister is the obvious choice
Definitely prime minister
I love that clearly none of them understand the Rent Buoy joke
Beautiful! I would love an update of the changes.
omg joe went to bude!! that’s my home town!! so wild to see you interviewing ppl i know!
Good on you, Joe. Brilliant effort for a great cause on the impacts of these things..
Great job!
When I was a kid I would love that people would leave perfectly good bodyboards by the bin, free bodyboard for me and I just left it by the bin where I found it when I was done
If you had been a young entrepreneur, you'd have collected them and resold or hired them out.
It’s the small things that make a big difference.
I love Ginnys hat
Well done!
i can't imagine England's weather being conducive to beach activities of any kind at any time
I started bawling because while this is funny its also really real
Love the named boards!
ahhh finally! now to pop to amazon...
Great hair in this show Joe. I may ask my barber for this next time I visit.
I live in Los Angeles, we call them Boogie Boards. But, body boards makes more sense.I don't know what they are made of but I'm going to check it out. My siblings can surf and used to go early before school sometimes, but I can't, just not coordinated enough but I have been able to boogie board so I don't feel left out.
I have two eyelids as well.
Thats kinda creepy.. Wheres the other two?
And in all it's glory, how incredibly insignificant this turned out to be.
Jo and Joe let's go!
Awesome!!!
I live just up the road from here
Bloody brilliant I hate those damn boards! You can get a wooden board for a just a little more and they're much more fun because they go faster. Supermarkets will be the ruin of the world.
Rent Buoy😂😂
Joe is a modern day hero
Joe IS a real hero!
FAAAAANCYYYYYY A SLIIIIICEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Great way to save on garbage. Any tourist found littering will be fed to local indigenous wildlife.
Get your hands off my beach hut, thanks
I honestly didn't know how harmful they were to the environment. My mum used to buy them for me on holidays when I was a kid. I won't be buying them for my kids and I won't let her buy them anymore either.
Fuck yeah!
I didn't think Fareham was coastal, Gosport is and Portsmouth but Fareham?
The town itself isn’t coastal but the Fareham council area includes the coastline from Warsash to Hill Head
Why throw them out?
Is there a better alternative for children to play with that isn’t so expensive?
£20 for a week isn’t that expensive, they’d be spending around £10 on a board anyways
Oh, Joe! All of that crap you had on during the zoom meeting. :( And all made in china.
Board pollution is a problem, that’s clear. However the way that lady takes pleasure in pronouncing the word “ban” says a lot about todays cancel culture.. this obsession righteous people have with keeping others from doing things, it’s so childish.
Just as childish as dick heads who buy plastic holiday gadgets only to ditch them afterwards.
The proposed solution is what works: renting!
Putting the video header as joe lycett saves the ocean is not realistic and takes away all the people doing really hard work and putting there own money in solving this issue
Joe I love you and your comedy, but this seems a bit two-faced. You want to ban polystyrene boards, but have at your beach party, Nylon Ropes, Plastic Bunting and worst.... Plastic Single Use Cups. Your party created more plastic garbage the was cleaned up on the beach.
1:53 that's fucking disgusting a drag
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮. Lefty alert Lefty Alret
Oh sorry would you rather plastic just filled the entire world and killed animals off. Cause that's the way it's going????
This is the weirdest take. It isn’t right wing to not take care of the environment 😂
@@s.j.6703 I would rather the world had less busy bodies they'll be glueing themselves to the crest of a wave next
@@tomg5119 they're just your basic busy body really, they tend to be left whingers, the right tend to be thuggy trouble makers

For a comedian joe lycett isn’t very funny is he
