not the first time they've been caught out like this.
There was a scam a few years ago (not the company itself though) where 2 high ranking managers had been changing labels on parcels, and also changing the details on the computer system to hide that, in order to send them to their mates houses.
Then there was the time the company got fined and forced to put in some common sense safety stuff after a guy got his hand caught in a coveyor belt and almost lost 2 fingers.

When I order hemp seed, it comes in a plain white packaging with a return address that lists a shipping company that coincidentally shares initials with the seedbank. Also this particular crime in the US is a much much bigger deal.
The moment you do it through the mail it's a federal crime. Federal prisons are less crowded, don't have to be part of a balanced budget like a state does and the laws because of that tend to be much less forgiving with more mandatory minimums of a decade or more.

It’s also suspicious that any time you phone them, their phone lines are under maintenance so you can’t even speak to a real person about your issue. We need a full investigation because this isn’t right.

"something to celebrate there"? No there isn't, nothing was solved beyond maybe 10 people getting their packages and a couple businesses getting refunds. This problem goes so much further.
The company should be criminally investigated, personal information sold on the side of packages falsely claimed to be lost or undeliverable, they are stealing packages and selling them on to people that may or may not know they are handling stolen goods, each branch of possibility creating its own further issues.
It's great that it's being brought to light but tell me it doesn't just end here. If anything the bad actors in the company now know to check that they remove those details that make this an easy case to prosecute, even if for nothing more than criminal negligence. It would open the door to investigation and further action.

Just FYI if you didnt know about Hermes the Greek mythological figure:
"He is also the patron and protector of travelers, herdsmen, *thieves* , orators and wit, literature and poets, athletics and sports, invention and trade. In some myths *Hermes is also depicted as a trickster where he would outwit the gods* ... ... *for his own personal amusement and satisfaction* "
So really, maybe you guys have your standards set too high?

Last Sunday I was due to have a delivery from Hermes. The tracking link said it was out for delivery but then when it was due to arrive I got a message to stay there was "a problem with the address." And to contact them with any instructions that might help. No idea why given I live in a normal house on a normal street but okay? I tried to contact them, no way of actually speaking to someone. I sent them an email to try to sort it out and just got a standard reply of "contact the retailer" completely ignoring that they'd said to contact them.
They next day I got a message saying it was out for delivery at 10:20... And then another saying it was out for delivery at 18:41 the same day. Alas, it did not arrive.
Two days later I had another delivery from Hermes from another company. I asked the driver if he had any idea what was happening. He had it in his van, my name and address on it, perfectly good condition, but had for some reason been flagged as undeliverable.
Thankfully the driver was lovely and very apologetic but honestly, I still don't understand how there was an issue with my address!

I tried to contact hermes but it is absolutely impossible!! so when I next saw the hermes driver I brought this up . He then told me that next time there is a delivery for me he will not deliver it and say that it is undeliverable!
But there isn't anything I can do because hermes literally is un contactable .

I remember one time sending a handheld console through a UK courier, it got to the depot and was "lost" and was told tough and since it shows as in depot it "might" be delivered so I couldn't claim compensation What made matters worse was the buyer was rude to me and demanded the next day after it was sent where it was, called me a scammer despite having tracking proving it was sent then opened a Paypal dispute which they won then sent me agressive messages calling me a scammer and leaving me voicemail threats! Anyway on the subject of Hermes I have a friend who does seasonal work with them and the bosses treat staff like dirt, he tells me literally 5 minutes before end of shift he gets shouted at by his boss for not doing work, he says most staff come in high on weed, and staff just kick and chuck boxes about as they don't care and he was underpaid for 3 months as they messed up his tax then his boss was rude at him and said it was my friends fault his tax was wrong.

Spent close to £400 on an industry standard RCF speaker in mint condition. Totally destroyed. This was protected with 10cm of cardboard, bubble wrap and tape the entire way around, i've been moving pa speakers for 20 years and never seen this sort of damage and this was well protected. It literally would have taken being dropped from a 2nd story window. Just abusive!

@@swanningabout Like everything he does is so over the top and silly but somehow he pulls it off like it's nothing and completely normal and I think it makes what he does ten time funnier

Hermes is now known as Evri, and recently I've had a few paintings that I sent with them go missing. One of them I found out was sold at an auction house.

Had this happen to me this week! I bought new bedding, pillows and a mattress topper costing £72, the delivery was split into 2 parcels, 1 I received yesterday which was just the pillows that cost £8 and the other that had the remaining stuff hadn't moved in like 5 days. I was sent just 1 tracking number so I couldn't even see where the other parcel was once I'd received the pillows because it was saying it was delivered, you can't ring anyone or use the chat box on their site it just cuts you off or hangs up. I had to ring wilko who I'd placed the order with and get them to check what was going on and low an behold not even an hour after the other parcel has been updated saying damaged and then label reprint funny that 🤔

I had a parcel that kept being "attempted" (I think the driver couldn't find my address). I really needed it and knew it was going to be sent back or go to auction, so I emailed the head office rather than customer service. Within 2 days it was on my doorstep.

Who knew the value of the toilet tissue when they were filming, the loss of that package is like loosing gold
