    13:53 Aprilia with WC1 will allow a small amount of lift (wheelie) but only a foot or so high and by the top end of 3rd gear it comes down naturally. Its a very good system though, just maybe not as much fun as the KTM version
    Great electronics review by the way. I will be doing a a 1 year ownership review in the next couple months doing similar. Not enough talk of electronics on these type of bikes in my opinion

      On the 2017 Tuono I couldnt get any lift with WC on 1 setting.. But with it turned off bloody brilliant fun hehe :)

      Exactly not enough reviews on the electronics, last week got myself the 2020 1290 R with Teck package still can't figure out the C1, C2 and how set up traction control. Was in the garage over hour playing around, beginning get hang of it. Coming from ZX-14 without any electronics, to this is overwhelming.

    Another good review LC, any chance you could review a Speedy 1050 R, and then compare it to the new 765 RS, you seem very honest in your reviews, keep up the good work, one of the best.

      i test rode the 2017 1050r.. comfy, wicked suspension, good looking, excellent brakes, easy to use elctronics... engine is dated! 138bhp. really was quite slow compares to the mt10 we also had out that day... i kept hitting the limiter hoping for more power that never arrived

    On a separate note, it's pretty discouraging that KTM charges nearly $1K for a couple of lines of code to turn on all the cool electronic functionality. That's why I wouldn't get rid of my 2015.

    I pretty much agree with your review, I find the bike the same as you do. I have fitted a few after market bits, including just fitting a screen. It doesn't improve the aesthetics, I don't mind it, but boy what a difference it makes, much more comfortable and rides like a sports bike at the high numbers, I think it will stay on

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  Před 7 lety +1

      If I buy one (very tempted) I would get a screen for those longer trips but not sure I could live with one.. I also like the fact no screen limits your top speed

    • @markjolly8311
      @markjolly8311 Před 7 lety +1

      I take your point, do it buy one 😊 I love it, I have done more miles on it so far this year, about 3500 so far than I did all of last year. The clock issue in track mode is my biggest gripe, I'm ok with the electronics menus now I have got used to it. I will see how I go with the screen. I took out the new 1290 adventure and loved that, give it a try. Put the electronic suspension in sport mode, stiffest setting, then hoon on bumpy B roads. It feels a bit like being off road, jumping bumps, wheelies and such like. Having seen your 1090 review I may go and play with one of those and get a comparison.

    • @LambChopRides

      Lamb Chop Rides I am somewhat envious of you getting to try all these bikes! But also pleased for you, look forward to hearing about your experience with it. Regarding the SD, I tried the launch control a few times, I must be doing it wrong, scared the shit out of me as nearly looped it !! Regarding other bikes, my local dealer has the new Suzuki GSXR 1000 r model as a demo, may get a test ride on that, a couple of mates have and say it's awesome, another mate races one, not the r model, with a full system and flashed 202 at the rear wheel, 187 out of the box, that's insane !!

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  Před 7 lety

      Lamb Chop Rides Thanks for the reply. At least the ktm akra slipon didn't fix it. Maybe the full system akra with the new map would, but that would bring to much trouble with the authorities around here. To me it feels like it's a (low pass?) filter on the throttle signal.

    Quick (and possibly stupid question) sir! Is it theft proof? One factor stopping me from getting a cool, expensive bike like the KTM is the fear of people dicking on it. I live in an area where there's high population density. Would absolutely hate to find any scratches on the bike that wasn't caused by me! Otherwise I will have to invest in alarms and brake locks.

    • @HG-vv8dy
      @HG-vv8dy Před 6 lety +3

      REM I have one and it works well both up and down and (up) also at half throttle. Only thing I noticed on the upshifts is that you have to push the lever firmly or it won’t shift. I have had a few awkward moments...

    • @MrKldenton
      @MrKldenton Před 6 lety +1

      Yep, down is fine at any throttle opening. Upshifts require you to be accelerating at the time or they feel a bit jerky. And regardless of quickshift or not the gearbox requires a bit more force than most bikes which is to be understood considering the torque output it has to deal with.

    • @micromymario23
      @micromymario23 Před měsícem

      1)When you put them on you must have the throttle open a little.
      2) When downshifting you have to close all the throttle otherwise it doesn't work... you just need to understand these two things for it to work perfectly.
      It's made to work like this.
