- Here I show you how easy it is to change your DSG Gearbox Oil, Its very simple and will apply to most DSG cars out there. This is something most people can do at home and should take more than 30-40mins. Why pay £160 - £200 for a service when you can buy the kit for £60 and do it yourself.

If you enjoy cool shit and cars then subscribe to follow along. Like and comment to let me know you are enjoying these videos or if you want to see use do something in particular. This R32 will be turbo’d very soon! And plenty of plans for it.
Nice and clear without too much extras. Thanks
Very useful, well presented guide. I'll be following your guide at the weekend
Made it look easy! Will be giving this a go myself soon
Cheers bro 👍
Yo, great tutorial mate, keep these videos going 👍
Cheers bro. Check out my other vids too.
Great driveway method!
Thanks 👍 Its not always easy doing it on the driveway :)
I had the luxury or a hoist, and had to buy the filling adaptor. Your method is better🤣
The bottom fill tool is £20 from Amazon, so not that bad really. Good to see you checking the level properly though, in reality an over filled box isn’t really a problem either. 👍🏻
Thanks for your comment. I couldn’t seem to find one with the pump, tbf it only took about 20mins to fill if that.
@@OctaneFever I think @joelb2660 above is referring to a "bottom fill" that doesn't use a pump. You just hold a bottle above the engine but the hose is put at the bottom via a screwed-in adapter.
Hey mate followed the build and thanks for info. One question, what cable do you use for vagcom
Can’t remember the exact one but get a proper one from Ross tech.
thats the best way
Thanks bro.
Hi. Car should be on level ground when checking oil when at temperature if I’m not mistaken?
Following…
Yes, correct
I dont have to odb reader or what ever that is, is tempature really important? I can let it run for 15mins then do it maybe?
Perhaps. Maybe let it ideal for 10mins and do it.
Do you think the car should be leveled to get the exact amount? Because tilted back like that it would drain more fluid and be low a bit
Great videos! The quality and the way you explain everything simply is amazing
If you can then absolutely. But unless you can level your car and have it up in the air then sometimes you have to make do. It never affected the car by setting the level being slightly tilted back
Where did you find the funnel from to fill from the top ?
Off Amazon. Think I put a link to it in the description
If u dont change the oil what happenes to the car?can the car be more slow? If u dont change the oil of gearbox
You can run into issues with gear selection, and clamping of clutches. The whole gearbox is like a hydraulic system. Unlike the old manual gearboxes which is just for lubrication.
Did you have to remove battery
You will have to do it on any other model other than the R32. For me because it’s an R32 model the battery is in the boot.
Where did you get the funnel from please?
EBay mate. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192596361402?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=5jRvmrWWQCy&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=NifH31VqS-S&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Appreciated, cheers
I always read 4.5 litres is what ppl put back in. You Mentioned you put in 5 litres how much drained out afterwards
Alittle bit drained out. Not too much.
That DSG oil and filter looked really clean. I've seen much much worse.
Yeah it was. When I bought the car the owner said he had done a dsg service but like any diyer only had the receipts so it’s always hard to know for sure if it’s been done, but clearly it had been. For the sake of £70 might as well have piece of mind and change it anyway.
@@OctaneFever excellent video
What oil you use mate ?
I get the febi stuff from eBay. Think I linked it in the description
why not just take it round the block lol
wont hurt anything being haf a quart over
Which part are you referring to?
because it's already on ramps/stands
How often should you do this ?
VW recommend about every 40,000 miles but unless you have trust worthy proof that it has been done within the last 40k miles I would do it anyway. It only goes around £70 and 30mins of your time with basic tools. Good luck
