AND, for the guy being a long range recon soldier- he lets another guy come up behind him and hit him with the rifle butt. And then has no marks on his head while being questioned? Really guys! C’mon, do better than that!
Not very realistic at all. For one, when making radio contact, you don’t use the words or letters like HQ, that would let the enemy know who or what you’re making contact with. You would use a set series of call signs and frequencies designated in your OPORD and a comm book issued by the SIGINT folks. Also, his LBE was from the Vietnam and 80’s era and the pouches were empty. And he was carrying an SKS rifle. Really? Sorry, but not very realistic unless you’re a keyboard soldier!
First mistake was he let them sneak up from behind him. Where was his perimeter? He was there at least a year and a half.... should have had traps all around his perimeter with alarms too. Second: after he took out the guard and shot him, he should have killed his interrogator too; and searched the compound at least a little. Why open just one door with prisoners, and how did he know that was a cell holding prisoners?
For people who are so concerned with the Enemy being like Nazis? The enemy in this case wore Nazi uniforms and he was the very last soldier that was not a Nazi in an american-style uniform with an M1 rifle. "The first will be last and the last will be first." Amen. ⛪ This is a Bible quote. *Yeshua* / Jesus said this about those who would work in his Father's field. It didn't matter when you got to the field as long as you got to the field and every single worker was paid 1 Denarii. 1 Denarii = 1 Silver Coin (Today's value of 1 oz of silver is approximately $15. - $20.) He was so concerned about that quote because he may have been aware it was from the Bible and it was all he had of the 'Holy word of God/ the *Heavenly Father* He became the *last* momentarily. This is a very well constructed story with many layers and overtones. I liked the story I only wish they could've borrowed some Ars and Aks instead of Sks and Hi point rifles.
