    BACKGROUND
My classmates and myself made this film during our studies at Sydney Film School in Australia. I’ve always been torn between enjoying solitude and at the same time not wanting to be alone, and that’s what I wanted to make this film about. I decided on the post-apocalyptic setting in part for my love of dystopian/end of the world stories and also because I wanted to see if we with limited means would be able to create a world usually reserved for Hollywood productions. We live in a world where anyone can make a film yet a lot of people still seem to think you need a certain budget, certain equipment or a big crew to make a “proper” film. We shot this film on a consumer budget camera and almost half of it was shot with a skeleton crew of three. Initially there was some scepticism about the achievability of the film but that only made us more determined. It proved to be a huge challenge and at times I wasn’t sure if we would pull it off, but I think it’s important to aim a bit too high - it forces you to be better. I’m very proud of the end result and I’m so happy to share this film with you. I hope you enjoy it!

This was fucking amazing, it’s unbelievable how you managed to make it look so surreal with the empty streets and the hollow lonely buildings. The actor was superb in showing genuine emotion throughout and my god Shane I love you. Story is well played and doesn’t drag for a second, probably the nest short film I’ve seen on CZcams. 10/10

I usually pass over short Scfi films that use the term, "Post Apocalyptic" in the description since they always involve the characters wander thru a ruined city with a gas mask on his face, getting into fights with someone of some thing that wants to kill him. This was a welcome change. It is amazing how so much story can be compressing into so little time yet make such big impact.
    Well Done.

I can identify. Being around other humans makes me exhausted. So I spend a lot of time alone. But I still need to feel other humans are out there, that Im included in others hearts even if I exclude myself from their presence a lot. And the emptiness of a world without anyone else like you would be a heavy one indeed, even for us loners.

indeed. I once moved to a secluded place in the nature. I didn't know what real isolation feels like, until than. Suffocating feeling...I believe would drive most people mad after a while

I experience same thing around peopke. I love being alone most of the time. I am bad at remembering names, because i never asume the contact will be long time. I am married but am not happy. Never new marriage could be suffocating. I escape a lot to quit places in my car. But even this results in more suffocating feeling. If you park somewhere quite to have some alone time, either the police of some gays looking for gaysex approach you 🥴. Now my goal is to get enough money to buy my own piece of land to spend some alone time till i die in peace.

You sound like me. I always felt different, as I would stay up all night to have peace, as being around people sucked the life out of me....exhaust me.
Then, I sought help. I sought therapy, after my husband died. My therapist tested me after we talked.
It was then, that what was different about me....what caused me to avoid people, even family.....I am an extremely sensitive Empath. I feel and absorb other people's energies....am an animal empath too, in addition to nature...(I talk to trees, plants and "feel" them). Crazy sounding. But true.
Consider if you are an Empath. There are 5 types. Some Empaths have all 5...I have 4.
Being around lots of people would literally make me physically sick. My therapist taught me exercises to help me. And she told me that I MUST learn to build a "bubble" around myself, to protect me from absorbing people's feelings.
Once....when my late husband was alive, the grocery store clerk that was checking us out.....wow...I suddenly had heart wrenching grief....I knew that someone close to her had died . I asked her if she had a father or brother that had died recently, she looked stunned and started crying. She said her brother had committed suicide 3 days prior. I comforted her, then jumped on her Manager's butt, told him what she was going through....
He felt SO bad, as he had no idea and gave her 2 weeks off with pay.
What occurred.....is being an Empath. It is a true gift of God and called "the Gift of Discernment". The closer you are to God, the stronger the gift. Being sn Empath can and will help you to know a person before you know that person....it is a gift that helps you avoid bad people and situations.
I don't know if that's what is going on, but I understand....there are lots of us. Seek help. Online has a lot of info that will help you.
God bless you....I hope this helps😊

If I were one of the last folks left on the face of the planet? Guess I'd probably do what that guy in "The Last man on earth" did, load up an RV or something and drive across the country both to see the sights and to learn if I truly was the last person on earth. Bring along a camera and take pictures of myself at famous landmarks. And once the gas ran out I'd probably just walk the roadways living out of a backpack or bike and trailer. And when I finally got tired of that I'd find myself and abandoned house out in the countryside and settle down. Maybe start a garden, learn to rig up some solar panels, and probably just spend as much of my natural life enjoying the peace. Maybe adopt a cat or dog along the way? Guess I'll have to make a checklist for if i ever find myself in this situation.
Great film though. Really enjoyed it. Brings back memories of A Boy and His Dog, loved watching that. Two thumbs up on your work.

Thank goodness you didn't just do the killer/survivor camo shoot-to-kill bullshit. Why would anyone want to KILLyou?!? ONLY groups have a chance, if your mommy hasn't taught you "please" snd "thank you," now's a good time to start. FOOD is eveywhere for a while at least, go live in a grocery store and eat cookiies and ice cream until you explode, if that's what matters to ya! Thnx fer the show, keep on.

This ended up being very great, and emotional. I don't think it's a realistic scenario, which made it a bit dull at the start to me, but then I understood it's not really about creating a possible scenario, this film reached something way higher. Having that first part before the turning point of the rabbits death, just gave the film a clear and thoughtful purpose

Erm,... let's get this right, all her friends disappear (presumably dead or departed), her parents disappear (presumably dead or departed) and she doesn't get upset until her bunny dies. And that's what it takes to make her see what was previously wrong with the world? It doesn't seem to have affected wildlife as we see geese flying overhead so maybe it won't be too hard to find another bunny and everything will be OK again. Well it is Australia so no bunny shortage.

She just wants to live as an anarchist almost solo until she loses her only friend. The bloke in "The Quiet Earth" did everything he could to look for survivors. You've done well on the idea

What an amazing short movie on many levels, concept, acting, camera work, settings and editing. The only part I am debating with myself on was the premature rolling of the credits followed by the ending. Overall very enjoyable. I understand why someone made the comment about the movie wanting them to be a better person.

I suppose that I should post a, “Spoiler Alert?” What a great gem of a short film! Tilda wakes up one morning and soon realizes that she is the only person left in Sydney and most probably the only person left in world!? At first Tilda occupies her free time with, drinking, pill popping and demolishing buildings in the city. When her pet rabbit, Shane dies, Tilda comes to the realization that there’s more to life than being self-destructive. She starts by cleaning up the litter and begins to look after the environment. I can’t help but wonder if this film was influenced by the 1985, New Zealand film, “The Quiet Earth?” Both these films have a central character that wakes up and finds that the world’s population has disappeared.

at first I wondered a bit how she managed to write her Name on the Opera that big, all those other uneasing Details some might not consciously notice, the Grey Hair add depth to your story that makes it magic, very well done, looks like lots of effort.

Great short film with really good production quality. Did Tilda kill herself and this was her afterlife in which she learns a valuable lesson. The only confusing part was that she took a bunch of pills and alcohol the second go around only to throw it up on purpose as she has an epiphany. Seems like a part two would be in order my homies!

Good work, & from the viewer's point of view, good entertainment - I don't recall one sequence where you could say it's boring or lacking in clarity.
It's very "Bokeh" like, & yet it's good enough to stand on it's own.
It all came together very well.
Congratulations, & I hope you'll go on to make more films.

Poor rabbit, alcohol has never solved anything, it actually has caused people to not give a shit, and do cruel acts to others. The rabbit committed suicide than to live with someone who was acting as she was. The rabbits death, however, brought her back to her senses. Good flick.....the flock of birds at the end was a nice sign of hope... peace

Perhaps also throw in something about condom use because they all seem to fuck like, well... bunnies.

In the movie the CASTAWAY Tom Hanks had a volleyball to talk and argue with, will Smith he had mannequins so why not a rabbit? No matter what your situation you're in at the moment we all need someone to talk to don't matter if it's a person, pet, object or a higher spiritual being we all need someone to talk too. That's what I got from watching this thank you.
