Yes, rockstar has invisible shooters to auto kill you if you start to stray into areas they don’t want you in. Around chapter 4 I took Arther and went to Blackwater (not into the city, just the area) and tried to go as southwest as possible. There was gang after gang chasing me and when I got to a certain point I was just getting shot by nobody till I died
Same thing happens if you try to take a boat up river to access new Austin. I tried for several hours, this is how I realized there was an invisible sniper.

I guess there is no way to kill those invisible snipers or its not possible to find out where the shots are coming from
As a lot of people know by now, Guarma is so detailed because it was originally supposed to be featured more prominently and play a larger role in the game. Not only were there supposed to be more Chapter 5 missions set in Guarma, players were going to be able to return during the Epilogue to complete any leftover side content.
I've long suspected that Rockstar might have decided to change this because they decided that, since RDR 2 is a Western game, requiring players to spend a lot of time time on a tropical island would have been too strange. While i do really like Guarma, it definitely changes the whole vibe of the game to something along the lines of Indiana Jones or Pirates of the Caribbean.
Yeah but honestly I thought it was cool to have the locale change so abruptly and unexpectedly.
i am glad some of it was cut... i didnt enjoy guarma... its kinda like with the series prison break .. everything is fine but then they go to that soma prison and things are just so offsides..they overdid so much there too ... from cowboys to a war in guarma... mhh.. also , missible animals... just pure freakin stupid idea to make anything missible, its not like rockstar games are easy and quick to complete...

You can disable the sniper just as easily as getting to Guarma. Just run until he starts shooting, pause the game, replay Epilogue pt 2 Mission 1, fail the mission by walking away from Uncle, and cancel the mission. You'll spawn back in Guarma with the freedom to explore as you please. Now I just need to figure out how to get back.

It's weird how rockstar created this cool area with unique animals only to use it in a handful of missions and never allow us to go back...
We were supposed to go to gurama but they cut the size by like 70% there was supposed to buy a bout ticket but they removed everything about it

@@reaperrobbie265 you can do it normally by replaying one of the missions in the chapter. It a bit more difficult since most missions restrict your movement

One thing that’s really cool about this is when you get to Mexico with the glitch, you can hear the sort of Mexico “theme” in the background music. I have not heard that particullar theme elsewhere on the main map :)

Saw a video recently that explained everything that was taken out and it looks like the scope of the game was planned to be even bigger than it is - multiple playable characters like gtav - new austin missions early in the story

December 29th 2020 it still works. However, he doesn't explain that using the cheat to get the horse stops you from saving any progress. It's a pain in the ass but if you walk across you can still save it and keep it open on your map permanently. Get your shit together for the win man
Hey dude, I used your tip on getting into Guarma. Worked great! Just wanna let you know if you didn’t already but if you keep riding next to the pool of abyss east you can make it all the way to guarma north shore. Only thing is I took a run up and jumped my horse into it. We landed a few meters lower. Horse was injured and needed reviving but now I have a horse on guarma. I’m playing ps4 btw. Anyways amazing content your a true legend in what you do. Thanks

@@TennisWall it’s pretty sweet so if you follow the vid instructions and get yours horse. Then travel how he says but I think go slightly more left. Has been a while since I did it. At some point you’ll come to an open field which drops off to your right. You can hug the left side of that for ages until you can see down the open field into guarma. You can just jump down into it on your horse. And then your near the top left side of guarma. I think the further up you go the smaller the jump. Worth trying if your bored or have time. I should have filmed it when I did it sorry.
The green iguana can be found on the largest island next to Clemens point, not only on guarma

But the 4 exclusive snakes, the 3 parrots and the booby are all completely exclusive to guarma

I just tried this and it works. I found that if you head due east when you hit the water on the map you can actually find where guarma meets the old map. When you fall through you dont die and can revive your horse if you have a reviver. I wish i could insert a pic.
When I pass out at the wall your at I don't wake up in mexico, instead I wake up next to where I passed out.

The 'Invisible Bullets' is a mechanism that rockstar put in place so you can't venture too far out. They combined that with cliffs that just make you slide down. When I was playing chapter V, I tried to go out further and I had the same thing happen.
The same alcohol trick also works if you want to escape north of the map. Just go to the rocks at the east most point beyond Annesburg and you will respawn outside the barrier where there are loads of mountains to explore.
I tried to explore Guarma in chapter 5, and the same thing happened to me. You literally get shot by no one, because you’re not supposed to be there.

You can do this before the epilogue too. At any point in the main story (except chapter 1 & 5 obvs), go inside the cave in the north west of West Elizabeth, go past the bridge into one of the caverns and get drunk & you'll wake up outside the map.

Enter the main missions and repeat any mission and you will find yourself after its completion in South Rhodes or New Austin
by that same token can you just replay a guarma mission to get back to guarma?

Remember when you first visited the island on chapter 5, when you leave camp and go down the path to see Dutch, you'll eventually fall into a trap and get ambushed by soldiers.
What if you didn't fall into the hole on your first visit, will the scene trigger if you revisit the island using this method?

During the mission on Guarma Rockstar dosnt want Arthur to explore past the forests so when you reached the invisible sniper part you start getting killed.
When I passed out it spawned me in a jail cell

You can get "out of the Basin" in the slot canyons, South East of the arch, there is an small but obvious ramp up... Also to get to Guarma without dying, find the southern most Hires/Lowres border of the map and follow it until you begin to float in the air, once on the top you can glitch to Guarma without dying. This terrain glitch is located directly south of San Denis.

I did it without the cheat code so I could save game (I did this so I could study the animals I missed in chapter 5).
Oddest thing though (and this could be useful to all of you asking how to go back to the original map) I saved the game in guarma and when I loaded it I was still there, then I switched the language to english so I could verify I had all the right animals in the compendium (there's no way to do it inside the game, I switched the language of the entire PS4 system and it loaded the game in english).
When it loaded the game I was still in guarma, then I saved game again from the english version of the game and when I loaded that slot I was back in the original map, south of Braithwaite Manor.
@Tura88pd I also got to Guarma without the cheat code, but when I saved the game and loaded, I spawned back on the main map. Do you know how to avoid this?
I actually tried this glitch just now and it worked as John in the epilogue. I crossed the border south of New Austin into Mexico, I guess it would be Ciudad Juárez and I kept going south and I thought that I was heading towards Querétaro which is in central Mexico, however I fell off an invisible edge and then next thing I knew, I'm in Guarma. I think Guarma looks more like Puerto Rico as far as scenary.

I've read that indeed Rockstar implemented an invisible sniper in areas of the map such as, Mexico and Guarma. Though as you showed there are ways to exploit that. Yes they go for the head for the instant kill!
2 pirate rums will knock you out. Also when you go straight south your map will turn into guarma, BUT dont go to guarma. When you see your map change, turn back towards new Austin. That whole "basin" area and new Austin will be filled with water. (The area with the Mexican castle). From here, when map changes, go all the way east till map ends then go north past annesburg and if you die, you'll spawn in guarma. (But only if you went far south enough to change map to guarma, otherwise you'll spawn in game.)

This shows that they could have stretched the maps 100 times bigger and many elements of the environment is automatically pregenerated. I think they limited the map to avoid annoying players with distances, but they made it less exotic to explore. They could have put in more eastereggs and night monsters to counter this and using trains would be more logical than now.

March 2024. Still works. Invisible sniper is a PITA. Getting back to 'the world' is as easy as quitting the game. However, getting back while having saved the updated Compendium is something I haven't figured out. That would a nice thing to give an update on.
February 24, 2020 and this is the only getting back to Guarma that actually worked. Now I can get those compendium...s and do better exploring. Good job Geek.

When I did the glitch you showed to go to Guarma I continued south to south south until I found blurry mountains and then I fell down into the sea, this is the southern limit, then there is also the limit of the North.

I did this and just before I got the edge of the map to get to guarma, the basin of Mexico was filled with water and I went back to the regular map and the ocean from the guarma map was still there, the whole map looked flooded
Is the old lady that does killed still by the ladder in the caves? It would be cool if you have the gold bar that Dutch gave her for helping them.
I went back down the ladder and i couldn't pick up the gold bar that was on the floor.

@@deusbalteum3468 Yes, it works. But after about a minute of entering the red zone I get shot by invisible guards. Five close shots, and a single shot kill.
Iguanas and Crabs can be found without going there. They are on the small island west of Rhodes that has the old ship wreck where you find the tri-corner navel hat. However, as far as I've seen, Guarma is required in order to collet the rare parrots/perocete types of birds. Which didn't make sense for Rockstar to have that since I'm pretty sure it can only be done as John
This 100% works if you do all the steps correctly, but I noticed that on guarma in guarded areas where you would be shot immediately as arthur, they still have the guards even though fussar is dead but they dident shoot me straight away, I greeted them at the gate and when I entered they just shot me.
I'm confused, if mexico is out of bounds and you shouldn't be able to get to it then why does it have so much detail? There's even a shark in the water in one of the parts of the map.

@@kodak1312 there was also more content they developed to explore. you were supposed to be able to do stuff in mexico i think and they ran out of time or something. there is actually a lot of stuff they took out of the game they wanted to leave in but i think they ran out of time.

I’d would’ve been nice to know I can’t go back before I finished the chapter
So, funny story. Just completed story mode 100% for the 2nd time, got bored so I went to Mexico. Found a way into the Mexican Fort which was only partially built and you can walk through the walls to go inside and look around.
Kept running south, and ended up so far off the map that the game bugged out completely.
I (John) then woke up in Guarma, like the Guarma we play in chapter 5 with Arthur and the gang.
Only he's now stuck in Guarma 😂
I've been running around finding the parrots and snakes to complete the Compendium but the militia are looking out for me as most of Guarma says I'm wanted dead or alive 🤣

On July 12, 2020, PC Version, it works! It took a couple times in the initial "drunk" part to stay on top of the Hill. However, it finally worked. Twice before I slid back down the hill. The Key is to start "moving" upward when you wake up. Also, when you start reaching the "Nintendo 64 Ground" ... look at your map! You'll see that you are running across the ocean to Guarma!
