How awesome would it be if rockstar made a red dead one remaster within rdr2. So when you finish the epilogue, the story of rdr picks up after that.

0:55. If you go left you'll find two ox in the field and rock pigeons. You won't lose honor if you kill them (improved arrows for ox) but guards are still by the home. Bring a second horse because there's usually two. Two perfect hides are needed to make a decoration at Arthur's lodging.

You can actually collect the gold bar twice. The very next mission after the house burns down when you are riding past there on your way to clean out the house for the next camp swing in and pick it up. Then come back again in the epilogue as John and collect it once again.

Jacobites were Scottish rebels fighting for independence and to keep their land. The red coats (British army) murdered, exiled and massacred the Scots for centuries. The Jacobite rebels had enough of the tyranny and fought back. The Gray in question thought his family were Jacobite rebels too. Turns out they were British informants. The Gray's must have hated reading that.

Not even abolish slavery...at the time (1806) they were just fighting to abolish the transatlantic slave trade, which was a real historical struggle that was won in 1807, resulting in the end of slaves being brought from Africa and global slave ports. When you’re in the house right before we burn it, there’s a photo on the fireplace. It gave me the option to take it and I did. I can’t sell it anywhere and I’ve had it ever since. It’s rounded, not like the square one you picked up after the fire..
If she was alive when Arthur went to the outhouse, then her family likely fed her. Once her family was slaughtered, then there was no one to care for her. So, John found her skeleton. Nice video still!

during one of the missions where you can walk through the house, above a fireplace you can take a golden seal of the braithwaite family. you can't sell it or anything so idk what its for but you can take it. haven't seen anyone mention it yet

Ok so that girl in that bathroom is Pebelopee's sister, shes been locked there by the Braithwates. On the mission where you have to take Pebelope to a train to meet Beaut you can go with Penelopee to the bathroom and she will explain more about her.
No, there was Braithwaites to care for her, during and after the Epilogue there's still a couple Braithwaites. Though, they're not guarding the front arch since the main mansion was burnt down, also. If most of you haven't yet done the mission where the mansion comes to an end, (And if you don't mind spoilers.) Above the chimney is a golden shield from the family.
Wonder if bc you wipe out the Braithwaites or almost all of them that there was simply no one to take care of the woman in the outhouse?

You didn’t mention in a mission you have at the beginning the braithwaite girl on the back of your horse and you can take her to the outhouse and she will start a conversation about how she wish she could do more for her
I rejected the treasure because it was the whole reason we lost someone and was really where I think Dutch starts to panic and go crazy..

The joke here is the Grays are a literal portrayal of the "No true Scotsman fallacy". The Jacobites were Scots who attempted to rebel against English rule in the mid 18th century . What the letter was saying is that the Gray family is descendant from a Scot who informed on other Scots (the Jacobites) to the English during the revolution. Which, to a proud southern family that fought and lost the "War of Northern Aggression" (the way they probably see things, not an opinion I share) and that self identifies as rebels, it would be deeply shaming to know your family's wealth originates from an ancestor who turned on other rebels and fellow Scots for financial gain.
But most of the Scots fought against the jocobites.
The Grays also definitely informed on their neighbors and made a tidy sum of money during the "War of Southern Tyranny" as well.

re: crazy outhouse lady at braithwaite, perhaps she's trying to remember a bank account number! there was one point in her digits rant when she remembers a sequence of digits with an explanation point rather than questioning numbers throughout her rantings. best write that sequence she remembers down for investigation. Just a thing i noticed back when i come across her, not sure if it's anything important tho.
You could have brought Penelope to the secret shack where her SISTER is, you'll get an interesting back story why the lady was locked up in there and her (Penelope) plan for her sister.

In regards to the Crays apparent shame at their family's true history. They were clearly shocked that their ancestor whom which they reveared was in fact on the opposite side of Jacobite 'Forty-five Rebellion' (1745-76) which was an attemptted rebellion by Charles Edward Stuart of Scotland to regain the British throne for his father, James Francis Edward Stuart.
Many Jacobite figures later fled to the American colonies and joined the Revolutionary War. Since the end of Jacobitism, Scottish nationalists have exploited and destorted the events to support their own Nationalist political agendas.
I know "Bonnie Prince Charlie" wasn't interested in Scottish nationalism, he wanted to be King of England, Scotland and Wales aka Great Britain.

Based on the letter and forgive me if someone already explained this it sounds like the relative was a spy or a traitor. Possibly for the English, but I can't say for certain. If you research the Jacobite Rebellion it might clear a few things up.

5:27 I believe the Gray's must have thought themselves proud Nationalist Southern American Rebels, in the same way as the Jabobites were proud Nationalist Scottish Rebels in Britain but unfortunately the Edinburgh University professor had bad news for the Grays. They were loyalist spies, ratted out the Jacobites to the English.
That is probably what Arthur is referencing when he notes it in his journal. The Grays seemed to have been using their "Rebel Jacobite heritage" as a sort of status symbol in the South.

Actually in chapter 3 if you go to the small islands west of St Denis ( right by where you get the pirate sword) a man is camping out there and he tells you a little bit about how a maid told him a location to look. He also has a map set down that you can look at.
I was hoping that you found something new and cool but I found out all this just by playing the game.... there's still quite a few things that I have come across that I haven't seen a video for. has anybody else found the words on the trees ? that's all I'm going to say keep looking 😉

I think the Gray/Scottish heritage letter is talking about the aftermath of the battle of Culloden where Scottish Jacobites joined forces with Bonny prince Charlie against the English red coats. Where upon the Scottish lost,Bonnie prince Charlie escaped to France & the Jacobites were rounded up and hunted to death.
Anyone that was connected to the Jacobites became hunted outlaws,many of whom escaped to America.

You get unique dialogue if you take Cathrin to the outhouse with the lock up lady during that last mission.
