- QuickJacks are awesome but you need a way to store them out of the way. Here's a really simple storage solution for the frames, hoses, and hydraulic unit.

Personally I think your way of hanging with the 2x6 is brilliant. It allows freedom of location as well as added support for the weight. I am going to do the same thing. Thanks for posting!!
I just moved to a new house / new garage. And this setup worked so well I decided to do it again in the new garage too. I've been very happy with, especially for the low cost too.

I def used your setup as inspiration. The only addition I made was a very small piece of 2x6 with a screw for hanging the remote power cord and remote unit. My remote has a small hole at the top of the remote that lets it hang on the screw.

I placed 4 heavy duty 90° angle supports 12" long at waste height so there easier to grab and move into posistion . These things are not light and thats a good thing as its holding up 4000 lbs of metal . I then can put the pump system on top of the 2 horizontal lifts sitting on the angle peices .
Looks great. I will be mimicking this today. How difficult is it to lift them snd angle them out when you hang them?
Other than being heavy, the angle isn’t difficult. The QJ hooks are really nice.
are the jacks completely off the ground? If so, by how much? i just got a set for Christmas and am looking for a storage solution. This looks perfect...
Yes, mine are completely off the ground. In my garage there is a short ledge, maybe 4"-6" high that's part of the foundation, but then the ramps hang about an inch above that. Trust me you don't want to lift the ramps any higher than necessary. But other than that, this storage method has worked out great and the QJ brackets are top notch. Congrats on your new Quick Jacks!
Do you run the hydraulic unit while it’s mounted to the wall or is this just for storage?
Also, for others to know, the QJ wall hangers are supposed to just hold the jacks against the wall with the weight of the jack resting on the floor. I’m slightly surprised these are robust enough to hold the jacks off floor entirely.
No, the shelf is just for storage. I move the hydraulic unit to the floor when I want to use the jacks. As for the wall hangers, I've had no issues with them supporting the full weight of the jacks. The wall hangers are very beefy. But of course, it is important to make sure they have a solid mounting location.
Nice, organized , and clean garage until the wife starts storing Christmas decoration stuff 😊. I hope you didn't really hang the rails, the QJ hooks are meant to hold the rails to the wall preventing them from tipping over, but just in case they're hanging, you can put a piece of 1/2" plywood, better yet a thick rubber on the floor, under the rails, that will also prevent them from potentially getting rusted over time.
So do you still use jack stands with the quick jack?
It depends on what I'm doing. The QJ's are very stable, but if I'm going to be banging/pulling/hammering on something and just want some extra insurance, then I may put an extra jack stand under the car. And of course for various other projects, jack stands can still be very handy. For example, you might have the body/frame of the vehicle supported by the QJ, but then want to lower the axle to remove the springs, etc... you may want jack stands to support the axle housing.
So you put it up and take it down by yourself? It seems way to heavy to lug up without a second hand. Can you post of video of you taking it down and putting it up? I have the 7000 series
Yes, I actually used them today to do an oil change and tire rotation on my wife’s vehicle. They are definitely heavy and the length can be a awkward to lift up. But it’s definitely doable with just one person (depending on your size/strength/health/back problems/etc).
I have the same concern. Just ordered the 7000 series and realized the net weight is 98lbs. Not sure how “practical” it is to hang them. Will probably end up leaving them on the floor in the center (between the wheels of the car)

I was thinking about this today. It occurred to me that a block and tackle could be used for lifting the top of the QJs up the wall. Then, from a ladder, the top of the QJ could be moved to the QJ holder bracket on the wall. Hmm.
how long were your lag bolts that you used to put hang the 2x6?? 3 inches or 4 inches?
Good question. The board was 1.5" thick, plus it needed to go through 1/2" drywall, so that's 2" of material thickness. So I believe I used 4" long lag bolts. That would give 2" of bolt into the wall stud. And I can confirm that almost 2 years later it is still holding strong.

Hi I have a 5000 model that always wants to tip over when I use the controller any advise on stopping this .
I saw a video where the owner had the QJs backwards, and it didn't lift right. You want the end of the vehicle with the engine on the end of the quickjacks with the yellow name plate. If you are already doing this, call QJ technical support.
Just out of curiosity, do you have any relatives in or around Asheville, North Carolina? Your hands have little hair, and that is true of many of the males in my mother's family, including me.
I just bought the QuickJack 5000, same as yours. I'm waiting on box three and it is driving me crazy seeing box one and two sitting there in the garage. I want to get my Cayman S in the air so bad I can taste it!

You could have used only 1 hook for the hoses
Yea, since then I've been using one of the hooks to hang a spare air hose. But you're right, both QJ hoses fit on one hook without an issue.
Do you need to drain all the hydraulic fluid before storing it away like this?
Nope. The hydraulics are a sealed system. No leaks when hanging on the wall. 👍
What length are those 1/4" lag bolts?
Good question. I don't recall specifically, but the 2x6 is 1.5" thick, plus 1/2" for the sheet rock. And from what I've read the minimum penetration for a lag bolt should be 4x of the diameter. So for a 1/4" lag bolt, the minimum penetration would be no less than 1". I believe I went with 2" of penetration (ie. 8x). So the lag bolts were at least 4" long. I can also report that 9 months later, the QJ hangers are still holding rock solid.
Scruf's Garage thanks. I’m getting raw materials to do something similar for my QuickJacks. I was looking at 6” long lag bolts so that might be overkill.

Scruf's Garage how long were the screws that QJ provided? I just got my hooks and the screws are 2.5”, which will punch through the back of the 2x6.
I would have just mounted one hook for the cables on a stud and hung both cables on the same hook. Way less work. As an added bonus, you could also spray paint the hooks gloss black to match the QJs.
Yea, you can definitely double up if you like. I've actually done that recently and use the extra hook for a spare air hose.
How do you lubricate it?? Could you upload a video on that?
Whenever I can afford these. I’ll prob leave em on the floor pushed together under the car. Running out of room in the garage lol.
Watch for when they go on sale at Costco. That’s probably your cheapest price. If you have the ground clearance to leave them under the car, that’s definitely the simplest. I needed the floor space, so hanging them on the wall was my best option. But they’re definitely heavy to pick up and hang on the hooks.

They go on sale at home depot in November. I missed getting the combination set with additional accessories at the best price two years in a row. They don't have a lot of those available. Make sure you measure your cars - minivans are too long for even the extended length QJs, but I don't know about the 6000 model. Also, you can get a discount at Penguin Parts, 10% off for being a new customer on your entire first order.

Has anyone done this for an extended time period? Cars frequently get wet, so I'm not sure how good this is for the quick jacks?
I have the TL and I'd say it's ok, but only if you're lucky and get one without a defective air cylinder. If you do get one of those you're screwed - the company will 100% not stand behind their product. They'll claim the air-assist down isn't "necessary to the function of the lift". Really? So if one side has air assist down and the other doesn't, and they drop unevenly, that's safe? And then when the vehicle drops to the ground and one side of the lift goes straight to the full down position while the other... doesn't. You need to wait... and wait... and wait for it to drop with no weight on it. Quickjack will claim this "is normal operation" and that "it will get better over time". If you invest a massive amount of time trying to get them to stand behind their product they will, eventually, after burning through every once of customer goodwill, send out a new cylinder. Yay! Until you get the replacement and the freakin' air side is literally capped off. Like intentionally made unusable. That's not a fix guys. Then they'll claim that the engineers decided the down-assist wasn't necessary and that they've changed the design on future models. But I didn't buy a future model with less functionality. I bought the current model with exactly the functionality I wanted, was promised, and paid for. Whatever. Too much time wasted on it already - I've written off the entire company as another skanky marketing hack with no integrity.
I still have it in my shop, but the company worked very hard to make me regret my purchase and it low-key pisses me off every time I look at it. And honestly the setup is inconvenient enough that even when I do pull it out - warts and all - it happens very rarely. Only when I have a longer term project where I know the vehicle will be on the lift for a week or two. Definitely not for things like oil or tire changes. It's just way quicker to use a floor jack, or even ramps.
