    I have some 1X8. I drive up on them, use quick jacks as normal

    Wow, a great video with excellent instruction, well spoken words and directions, and so nicely explained with details. And Scruf, thank you for not having loud and crazy music. I don't understand why so many people do that. I just subscribed to your channel ! First class stuff. Thanks, Tim in Colorado.

    I am building my dream shop with a two post lift, but these would still be a great addition. If you track your car and are constantly checking or changing pads rotors, and brake fluid, this is a no brainer. The hardest part of any job is getting a lowered Corvette on jack stands. Thanks for the measurements.

      Ohhh, I'm jealous... a dream shop with a two post lift sounds amazing. How many bays are you going to have?

    You could always gain extra height by raising till the wheels are off the ground, then sitting them on blocks, then put your supplied rubber blocks on the lift, and lifting again. Obtaining full lifting height.

    Great video on using a floor jack and the other video that did help to ensure the lifting of the C5 from the front with a floor jack to paint the calipers and not risk damage to the auto. Did watch your video on painting the calipers...very nice presentation also.

    Another great video! I was deciding between the QJ and the Max Jax. In the end I went with the MaxJax and couldn’t be happier. Either way, it’s a luxury to not have to use jack stands. 👍

      @ScrufsGarage  Před 4 lety +3

      Yea, the Max Jax looks awesome too. Both are great options; like you said, both are a luxury to have. I'd love a 2 post lift, but wasn't quite the right solution for my current townhouse garage. My dream is a 3 car garage so I can finally have a dedicated bay for a lift. Maybe one day. :)

    I have a vette as well, and thinking about buying these or a scissor lift. Still leaning towards the quickjacks though. Is there a reason to lift it with the pucks installed? Although that would be my preference, some people seem to lift them with no pucks and to just use the rubber blocks or 2x4

      The QuickJack includes the hydraulic unit that the lines plug in to. Uses ATF as a hydraulic fluid.

    Quickjack makes 1.5 inch block set..

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  Před 3 lety +6

      Yes they do. It's a little pricey in mind opinion; $69 for four pieces of rubber. Though all of their stuff seems to be good quality. I was just being cheap with my 2x4 haha.

    Great video. I am considering QuickJack for my garage. I have a lowered c6 grand sport. My question is can't you use the blocks from QuickJack if you don't have jacking pucks. It seems not using the pucks is an option here.

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  Před 3 lety +2

      The jacking pucks help center the load at the lifting points to prevent damaging the area. On my car, I also had the Elite Engineering rocker panel sliders, so I didn't have a flat area to use just the QJ blocks. The jacking pucks are just slightly taller than the rails. You'll have to look at your lifting locations to see if using just the rubber QJ blocks will work or not for you.

    Great video ! I have a manual trans should I leave it in gear or neutral ? & the parking brake on or off ? (for a Corvette) Thank you in advance

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      I typically leave it in neutral with the parking brake set. But it doesn't make too much difference. When I lift my Jeep or the wife's RDX, which are both automatics, I just leave them in Park.

      With my manual I leave it in gear with the parking brake set. No issues.

    How much does the lift move the car move forward when the lift is all the way up.

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  Před 4 lety +1

      Almost none at all. Towards the end of my Setup video, I did a shake test. Honestly, I'm not sure I could knock the car off the lift, even if I wanted too. Assuming you have the jacks on a solid level surface, and properly positioned on the lifting points of the vehicle, it would take something significant to cause the jack or vehicle to shift. It is certainly as stable as 4 jack stands. And you could add a jack stand at the front and/or rear for extra safety, particularly if you were pulling a large weight out of the vehicle (ie, removing the engine or trans/TT).

      @Lmfrank36 Před 2 lety +1

      Quick Jack states the radial shift is 12 inches. It's in their FAQ section.

    I'm on coil overs with elite engineering frame savers. If I made ramps can I drive up and off of this daily? (If I made ramps) I think my car clearance is around 2.5", I am able to get a jack under it with a slightly uneven driveway. I'd like the newer TL5K , I just don't know if I'd have much room, thanks. I know this is older- appreciate your content

    Just driver over some wood blocks each corner. Then use the quickjack. Problem solved lol
