Can´t remember if you said this in the vid or not, butI just found out a crazy feature to me at least using a lot of drum sounds from different kits. If you load a sample from a folder you can simply go forward or backward in the folder from the plug in and change the sample with it. Smooth.
Man, THIS is a game changer for the simple fact I can assign sounds using MIDI learn to my Akai MPK, AND it’s easier to put in multi-output mode than Ni’s Battery and Polyplex. Great find, sir!! 👍🏾😎💯
I have noticed that drums has been the most impactful thing to my creativity and having a tool like this will certainly boost both creativity and productivity! THANK YOU!!
Can't tell you how long I've searched for something like this. I couldn't justify the $200 for Battery 4 and my go-to has been Captain Beat from the Captain Plugins suite. And here we have a free plugin that was exactly what I wanted. Thank you!
With a little more work on this ... it could be the great Simpler replacement for LPX. Needs Glide etc so we can do vocal chops!! I've been looking for that forever.
I almost forbid myself from looking at another drum sampler but since it's you I had to watch it. And now I have to get it for the midi learn feature alone!
this is perfect. i dislike all the free drum VSTs that come with their own hardwired samples and i also dislike dragging individual samples around the timeline. sitala is the best of both worlds, it allows me to assign my own samples to midi notes so i can use them in a piano roll.
Just got this. LOVE it. Does anyone know if there's a way to set it so it only plays a sample for the length of time you're pressing the midi button? I've been loading in some 10 second pads and would love to just glitch their attacks but have the option of continuing through the loop if I keep it triggered, but have it stop when I don't. At the moment it plays through the whole sample on one press. Thanks
Hello, great video thanks. I have one question. When I set up an exclusive or choke group for the high hats it works fine. However when I separate out my drum pieces in logics arrange window (by using the separate by note pitch technique) the choke group doesnt work anymore. Any ideas? Thanks.
Does it audition sounds when you browse them? I find it's a must have feature for a drum sampler, considering all of us have thousands of drum samples to go through.
If you use the 'load sample' option, or just drag from the finder window, yes. I've never had an issue auditioning a lot of samples because in MacOS you can just press spacebar to hear the sample, then press down to quickly move to the next. From the 'browse' menu when you load, no.
If you´re in a folder of drums you can move around the folder from the plug in. While swapping sounds you also get an audition of the sound so actually yes but no I guess.
When you load a sound, you have 2 arrows at the bottom of the sample screen. If you tap the arrows you change the sample and hear it too. At the top of the sample screen you can change the folders. Simply brilliant!
In addition to the comments below that tell you how to browse a folder, if you highlight multiple samples and drag them to an empty Sitala pad, it will insert them simultaneously, in order.
i l0ve this vst 0ne day a guy was showing all the LinnDrum sounds fr0m the 80s. i Stereo Mix record every sound he made. i made me a LinnDrum kit for this vst l0l
This was really helpful thanks. Question, can this plugin work with GarageBand? Not sure I'm doing it wrong, the version is old, or it's just not possible. Thanks.
This plugin is a boon to someone like me who doesn't have midi keyboard. Able to play all the pads on white keys makes things easier. Can't freaking believe that's it's free
I hope apple buys this company. It’s the only way they come up with really good new instruments. This is how a drum sampler should look like. Clarity, simplicity, ease of use, no fancy FX or synthesis.
Thanks that’s actually helpful, but not what quite I meant. You still have to first play the key in that case to select the channel. In sitala you, like in other drum samplers, just can drag the sample from your finder window or anywhere into a sitala channel.
CHOKE!!! So important! Love Sitala. . On Windows, just be careful overwriting your sets; sometimes it corrupts the file. I just make new saves on my sets and then go back later and delete the old ones I don't need. Hopefully they'll fix this soon.
Thank you very much for finding very useful info and sharing it. SITALA is really very simple and useful plug-in. We all should thank team decomposer for providing this for free. Hope everyone should credit them whenever we use their plug-in. Thank you once again MTHG. Link to download decomposer.de/sitala/
I don't think you can do that but if you want, you can load a sample into your daw, add space before the sample's sound begins, then save that whole bit as a wav file and it should accomplish it
Turning off velocity can mean two things. 1. it can mean a velocity of zero which is essentially a note off message. Or 2 what I think you’re asking is if you can make all of the velocities the same value or the highest value? You can have your track fix velocity by adding the velocity processor MIDI FX at the top of the channel strip.
I had the same issue. When you install it there are TWO install options. One is for the plugin and one is for the stand alone APP. You probably did what I did and accidentally only installed the stand alone app. Try reinstalling and look for the Package file in the installer program.
Dumb question inbound, all of the plugins I have installed show up automatically in Logic but this one doesn't. What am I missing here? I can open and use Sitala but only as a standalone thing.
Make sure you installed the PKG file that's included with the download. There's a standalone app that you drag to the Applications folder, but then a separate PKG file you have to install for the plug-in versions.
Thank you for posting this, still a newbie, I installed Sitala but can't find it in Logic Pro Mac, am I forgetting to do something, any help would be appreciated. thank you
Does anyone know how to assign multiple samples to the same output on Sitala? For example...I don't want my open Hi hat and my closed hat to come through different channels.....HALP!
Hopefully that's a feature they add in the future. If you want your grouped channels to come through the same channel, you could add an additional aux channel and buss over the hi hat channels to a single aux.
i dont see how its better than ultrabeat ? its just simpler ? but if you wanna use ultrabeat simply then.. u can.. but sitala is much more limited. (?)
I use Battery sometimes as well. If you need more complex sampling like round robin or velocity layers, or the different articulations -- those are features that Sitala does not have. And I personally never use any of Battery's built in effects. So it wouldn't be a better option for everything, but for quickly building custom drum kits, I find it the easiest and quickest to use.
Yeah, I mentioned that the end. it's not a drum synthesizer like Ultrabeat. Sampler only. So it has no synthesis functions, it can't generate sound on it's own, and it won't be able to modulate the pitch with an envelope like Ultrabeat can. Pitch rolls you could actually do, just automate the pitch parameter and type in the notes at the rolling rhythm you like.
I can't believe i'm just now finding this drum sampler plugin! This is amazing
For real! So much easier to use than what comes with my daw
Can´t remember if you said this in the vid or not, butI just found out a crazy feature to me at least using a lot of drum sounds from different kits. If you load a sample from a folder you can simply go forward or backward in the folder from the plug in and change the sample with it. Smooth.

Thanks! Been looking for a video showing the features fully including mapping to mixer channels. You are a legend 🙌
I absolutely love Sitala. I used the standalone version to play a full low volume gig and absolutely loved it
That's RAW, thank you so much for this.. This will make like mad easy..
Gonna be my go-to for Snare rolls from here on out. Easy features to quickly automate and get the job done. EXS is a pain workflow wise for this.
With a little more work on this ... it could be the great Simpler replacement for LPX. Needs Glide etc so we can do vocal chops!! I've been looking for that forever.
Looks great. Thanks for this!
Thanks. To you and Decomposer, too. Neat.
I can't believe this is free, thanks buddy (:
this is so sweet, thank you so much, great find!
Super awesome! I have used the drag and drop kit in ultrabeat, this will speed up my workflow tremendously.
just what I was looking for!! thanks!
Great little plugin. Great interface.
you just made my day i normally use maschine2 and mk3 to do beats then export but this is amazing thanks and merry xmas bro
This is so awesome! Thanks!
I almost forbid myself from looking at another drum sampler but since it's you I had to watch it. And now I have to get it for the midi learn feature alone!
GREAT description!!
Wow thanks for this. Will download right away
Oh thank God! been searching a VST like this for ages.
Mannn.... you make my day!!!! Thank you!!!
Good tip and tutorial, thanks!
Cheers much appreciated 🙌🏻
Excellent... Love how you can access your splice samples through Sitala. Another feature Ultrabeat doesn't have...

gracias me ayudaste demasiado con ese plugin
Best virtual instrument I've tried.
THIS IS WHAT A DRUM MACHINE SHOULD BE LIKE
This looks great, I want to load up my Linn Drum Samples. Simply!! lol
Thank you for the great tutorial! Great plugin.
aaron veranos no issues for me. I think it's a great plugin
Finally some simple free vst for drum pads
Thats super cool, and does all what most of us need! Would be so nice if there is aax version....
WOW!! ALREADY USING IT!!!!
Niceee, thank you!
GAME CHANGER for me!
Good job!

See, I downloaded this, just used the basic functions, and didn't even realise i could split the channels. Nevermind, I'm using this all the time now!
When I tried installing it it popped up as a application and I can't use it in logic please help
Very cool, thxs!,,
nice vid....thank you!
Tightttt
👑
would really love to get that snare!!!!!
Is there anything like this that allows you to also individually pitch each drum sound across the keys like FL Studio?
wow way better!
This plugin is great.... But lacks a few things
1. Scaleable interface
2. Default folders
3. Limited to 16 pads (it should be 88)
Sitala is my fav drum sapler. It is better than UB but Drum Machine with Sampler.
i l0ve this vst 0ne day a guy was showing all the LinnDrum

This looks like just what I need. Does it work fine with Catalina ?
First glance meh, half way thru the video, game changer lol. Nice find !
This was really helpful thanks. Question, can this plugin work with GarageBand? Not sure I'm doing it wrong, the version is old, or it's just not possible. Thanks.
Hello, Please make a video on the Sitala 2.0 . Regards
I'm not sure if this was mentioned but does it have a ADSR function?
It sounds so much like DM1 on the Mac
very new to this how are you supposed to add the sounds to your project
How do you map one sound chromatically?
Wow ! I love the bass at the end of the video! Have designed it ?
Yeah it was just an ES2 preset that I tweaked and added the arpeggiator for the moving octaves.
MusicTechHelpGuy thank you !
Thankyou for this!! One question though, i cant open sitala in logic? Bc logic doesn't detect this plug ins? Any thoughts?
This plugin is a boon to someone like me who doesn't have midi keyboard. Able to play all the pads on white keys makes things easier.
Can't freaking believe that's it's free
so much pain with ultrabeat will be gone forever
how to make multi channels in tracks area?? not only in a mixer
Can you make all genres with this?
why can't adjust sample end point and start point?
This is cool, but I already have Battery 4...which does everything. But I DO respect this FREE instrument.
How do I install it on Logic Pro x?
I hope apple buys this company. It’s the only way they come up with really good new instruments. This is how a drum sampler should look like. Clarity, simplicity, ease of use, no fancy FX or synthesis.
I have a problem with this plugin, I use waveform tracktion, and when I want to load my own samples in it, it crashes.
Help!!!
at 5:31 how did you get Sitala to show up in your plugin?
studio one doesnt have that add track option for multi out put. or unless i cant find it . so annoying
For some reason, it wont let me put my midi. My midi is akai lpd8 can someone help?
hi sir, I like to know Sitala will support any Bit & Sample rate samples plz?
damn, yes, i hated that i always had to click the ultrabeat channel first and then drag the sample in. key feature
if you turn on the "Voice Auto Select" in ultra beat. then you don't have to click on the Channel.
Thanks that’s actually helpful, but not what quite I meant. You still have to first play the key in that case to select the channel. In sitala you, like in other drum samplers, just can drag the sample from your finder window or anywhere into a sitala channel.

Does this allow you to delay or offset individual sample so they trigger a set amount after you press them?
I don't think you can do that but if you want, you can load a sample into your daw, add space before the sample's sound begins, then save that whole bit as a wav file and it should accomplish it

@@criqdekuyper9259 one note of caution. After installing this app my Mac will no longer go to sleep. The latest security update fixed it.
I like it! Is it stand-alone?
It can be both a plugin in your daw or standalone
There's no link. There's no description.
am i supposed to know how to use this thru logic? can someone make a tutorial on that?

@@MusicTechHelpGuy Exactly right! Thanks for the help, great video as well.
The only thing Sitala misses it pre-audition of samples before loading. Very bad...
Thank you for posting this, still a newbie, I installed Sitala but can't find it in Logic Pro Mac, am I forgetting to do something, any help would be appreciated. thank you
I'm having the same issue. Did you find a solution?
sitala making a play for an apple buyout? lol

@@MusicTechHelpGuy Hi!
My Logic Pro X is not showing Sitala on the AUs. Any thought? Thanks

Yeah, I mentioned that the end. it's not a drum synthesizer like Ultrabeat. Sampler only. @@MusicTechHelpGuy i had the exact same question as Jim Street. Can you demonstrate how to do that in Sitala?
but the plus minus button doesnt show up tho
In the channel strip try loading Sitala as multi-out (16x) instead of stereo instrument
