Awesome FREE Drum Sampler Sitala

  • Sitala is a free drum sampler plugin currently in Beta, but working perfectly as far as I can tell. I highly recommend this for creating electronic drum tracks in REAPER for 3 reasons
    1 - Multi-output in one click
2 - link triggering to multiple pads (snare triggers clap as well)
3 - kill linking (closed hat stops open hat)
I can see this quickly becoming a favorite for REAPER users as it offers a lot of things ReaSamplomatic5000 can't do.

Thanks for the review! One thing I'd add is that the controls are adaptive. So, for instance, the tone knob uses different frequency cutoffs for its mid-scoop, high- and low-pass filters based on analysis of the sample. This keeps things from being set up, for example, where the low-pass cuts off all of the hi-hat.

@@TheREAPERBlog We kind of bit off a bit too much for the upcoming release (should have broken it up into a few smaller releases), but we've got it penciled in for December 4th. The upcoming release primarily focuses on stuff for creating and maintaining kits (includes a sample browser, makes it possible to reorder pads, shows the pad names in the Reaper MIDI editor, and has some features targeting sample pack creators). The most requested feature at this point is editing start and stop points, so that'll be the focus of the release after this upcoming one.

@@broklanders4730 It's always a bit of a balancing act since the distinctive feature of Sitala is its simplicity, yet naturally there are additional features folks would like to have. It's unlikely that we'll add a full EQ in the near-term future (since a proper per-pad EQ would take up about half of the interface), but Sitala does support using a separate output for each pad, so if you find yourself needing a more powerful EQ, you can add one to that pad's output.
