My mom would burn my drawings when she got mad at me, one time I tried to find the bright side and said "That's okay, I didn't like those anyways." Her response was "Do you want me to burn those then?"
Edit: Forgot she would also practically bully me on my school work rather than help me through it. This was before she got on medication but uh damage already done. I'm 22 and so freaking glad to be living on my own and away from her.
Edit: thank you everyone for your concern. I got an update you would not believe, I started talking to her again and she apologized. I couldn't believe it ^^. We're doing better now.

And you certainly don't want your entire family and your mother's friends to know that you've joined the involuntary blood & grossness monthly subscription as well. It's very personal, and women don't talk about it often even among themselves

Not only that but the punishment wasn't even known nor did the parent attempt to wake them. The kid could be depressed because of the virus stuff and here you go ruining something he's worked on a tenth of his life on (think he was 9 and he worked on for a year). Now he has no reason to listen to you.
one lesson that perfect parents learned, being that if your kid is working on creating something or has a project they are working on, NEVER destroy what they did.
the biggest lesson being to not make your punishment too severe, but just enough to get your point across.
My mom never set specific rules for me, she just teaches me stuff and teaches me respect and why it’s important and I barely ever get in trouble. She lets me do stuff, she doesn’t destroy my things, she gives me privacy, she doesn’t yell, and she gives incentives instead of taking things away. And I don’t do bad things at all. I dont get in trouble at school, I clean my room, I don’t complain much, and my mom is still nice to me lol. Also if I have a problem, she actually listens to me instead of saying “sToP BaCkTaLkiNg” 🤠also she doesn’t delete my Minecraft worlds (partly cuz she doesn’t know how to use technology very well.)
Moral of the story, parents need to stop being so overprotective. Not saying you should let ur kids push you around, just know the line between gaslighting and being a good parent. Like bruh it’s not hard to be nice to each other. Basically just be nice ur kids and teach them how to be nice too and don’t do it by being mean cuz that totally defeats the purpose

When I was in high-school, I had a 5 minute shower limit. One day I took a little longer cuz I had to shave and my dad broke down the door cuz it was locked. Screamed at me for a few minutes, while I was still completely naked.
I started taking showers only when he wasn't home from that point on. Let's just say, sometimes I'd go a while without showers.
