NOT ONLY THAT...BUT THE FACT THAT IT WAS PASSED WITH UNANIMOUS CONSENT!!! What's more is that the moment Trump tries to go to the courts to try and quash it (which he will), the Committee can then argue beyond a shadow of a doubt that they ABSOLUTELY REQUIRE his testimony and document evidence (which spoilers: they do)
This is in actuality a gamble, simply because if Republicans take the house, the subpoena will be rescinded and all investigations into 1/6 will immediately be terminated in January, when the new Congress is sworn in.

Can we just talk about how disturbing it is that grown-ass adults thought it was a good idea to poop on the floor of the seat of our government and smear it on the walls? Being in the military, I am grateful that some of the leaders we have in the government keep their composure in the midst of danger and violence and still work for democracy and what is right.
So now somehow it's likely to be up to the house whether or not to hold him accountable because I guess.. "separation of powers" is still just an aspiration.
I honestly cannot comprehend the composure that it takes for Pelosi and Schumer to have to conduct themselves under life-threatening stress. I've no shame in admitting I'd have probably broken down crying scared. I mean, being in the same room as the grifters who fed into the violent mob outside your door threatening your life? How would that not get to you? I don't always agree with the decisions that they're making, but anyone who can maintain themselves in the moment like that will always be an inspiration to me.
Technically Pelosi and Schumer were not at the capital, but at Fort McNair well our of danger. Not trying to minimize the rest of it, but this was treated like they were sheltering in place at that point but they were not.

I have never in any way agreed with Liz Cheney politically. However, believe she has defended our country and constitution, and the letter of the law. It's an honor to have her lead the committee. Thank you for your service, and your sacrifice Ms. Cheney.
Being born and bred to that side of politics she knows their dirty way of playing and isn't afraid to use it, including against them when even she thinks they've gone too far. The dems could not have achieved these results without her.
As a European, even I thank her for that. The Banana Republicans are just such a disgrace for America.

I love that the responses to "How was Nancy able to keep so calm during the siege?" range from "because she's a badass" to "She had 5 kids in 7 years, she's used to being under seige"
And the fact that there was someone there filming it all would have had some effect.

Nancy and Chuck were rocks. I applauded her, literally, even though I live with 2 cats and no other human. I shouted 'yeah!' when I first saw the clip of her saying she wanted to punch Donald in the nose and doesn't care if it lands her in jail. I was right behind her cheering. And I was alone at the time. I would, too.
I can feel their stress and distress, but they outwardly were steady and decisive. Took it upon themselves, even though not their jobs, they galvanized forces and worked together. GET IT DONE, gurl!! I don't agree with a couple things she agrees with, but damn, she took charge. And it was not her job to do so..but she stepped up.
