I don't know what would make me freak me out more, if she regained control near the end and screamed for Micah to come save her, or if the demon was mimicking her to mess with him.
The answer to this is actually in the 5th movie Paranormal Activity: The marked ones. So, in the end of the 5th movie, a character named Hector goes through a strange brown door at Katie's and Kristy's (Katie's sister) childhood home(the place from where everything started according to the 3rd movie). So, the door he went through sent him back in time to 2006 (because this movie is set in 2012) to the household of Katie and Micah. Hector enters the living room and sees Katie going downstairs to the kitchen. After unsuccessfully attempting to get her attention, Katie turns around to see Hector and screams for Micah, who assumes Hector is an intruder and tackles him, but Katie violently stabs Micah to death with a kitchen knife. And Hector was also killed by another character from the movie.
So, yeah everything is kind of connected. And that was not Katie calling Micah, it was the demon.

I actually saw this movie in theaters at midnight with my brother. The energy in the theater was INSANE. We all screamed, we all laughed to keep each other calm, and during the right parts you could hear a pin drop. The first Paranormal Activity was definitely a cultural reset at the time because of how "realistic" the footage seemed.

This! I took my brothers to watch it opening weekend. I was TERRIFIED, the people around us were screaming, hiding behind their hands. I remember mid-way through the movie, people were getting up and walking out of the theater saying they couldn't do it. Good times.

Also, found footage as a format is more personal and forces the viewer to see things from the characters’ point of view. I’m not saying found footage movies are always necessarily scarier than every other movie, but POV sure is an untraditional way to shoot a movie.

Than like a day passes and you hear phone ring and then someone enter the house and scream the husbands name. Than some more time passes and the police come and arrest her. That ending was more scary
Honestly, the first one is automatically creepier because of the image and sound quality of consumer equipment from the time. It makes it feel more like real home footage. But I also can’t watch it without remembering the scenes from A Haunted House that were spoofing parts of this movie and laughing a bit.

I had the benefit of watching this movie in the theatre at midnight on Halloween. I love horror movies but I was not prepared. The sound of the footsteps and the roar was all around us. Each foot step had the theatre rumbling through your body. I thought it was going to be a cheesy found footage, was I mistaken. I now have a fear of being awake at three am at night because of how that clock would slow down in the movie. No wonder they call it the witching hour XD
I don't like watching horror movies overall but especially because of the time thing. I think it's in The Ring that everything happens around 3:07 am or smth.. God I haven't even seen that movie, someone casually summarize the whole plot for me when I was 14, mentioning the time.. I'm 23 and I'm still relieved when I wake up and it's passed 3:15 am..

I remember watching this in a PACKED theater during the midnight premiere of the film on Halloween and it genuinely scared me a lot while watching it there. However it wasn’t scary at all for me when watching it again just because I knew when the jump scares were about to happen. It’s SUCH a fun experience watching it in the theater with a packed crowd. Horror films are the genre that I enjoy a film so much more at the theater and with a big crowd that aren’t acting annoying.
The most disturbing and scariest part is when Katie gets dragged out of the bedroom and taken into the darkness and the fact Micha powerless against the demon is terrifying as shit!

My house is haunted my niece and nephew both asked “who’s that girl?” at around the same age. They’ve both said she’s “nice” and “funny” my nephew’s remote control would drive around while it’s turned off, I’ve heard by nephew laughing and talking to someone when there was no one else there. I love the ice maker scene in this movie because it's so accurate. When I moved out on my own and lived in my first apartment, the ice maker would freak me out ALL the time! The psychic said it feeds on negative energy, so I think in the beginning, all it did was move keys, and when they were more stressed and were arguing, it got stronger.
it was a no-win situation. by knowing there's a demon, they get more scared and by being more scared, the demon got stronger.

Yes, that's the point
what this movie does right is the steady buildup of tension. there's some mundane stuff to balance it all out, but you're anxiously awaiting each night, and they slowly amp up the scares. I think the first three movies do a great job at that.
That ending still gives me chills no matter how many times I see it. One of the most terrifying endings ever!

Infestation: since she was 8- idk how old she was in 2006. oppression: when she got the bite on her side. finally, possession: when she killed micah at the end of the film. in the conjuring the mom went through the same stages.
This movie cost $15k to make and it was so scary that ppl were walking out in the middle out of fear.

A year late, but this is prob one of the most entertaining reactions to PA I've seen on CZcams. I appreciate the fact that you actually aren't scared to show that you're actually scared where most other videos, the people just play it off. Anyway, this movie was a terrifying for it's time. I watched it in theatres when it came out and I honestly, 100% no joke, could NOT sleep that night. Every. Single. Noise. I heard that night scared the crap outta me. Haven't checked out your channel much but def will now. I hope you do reactions to the other PA films!

I snuck out to watch this film when I was a freshman in high school and it scarred me. I had nightmares for weeks. Watching Dylan watch makes my inner 14 year old feel soooo vindicated. This movie is so freaking scary.
