Nice to know that Maserati Dealers charging £200 an hour haven't got a clue, they fire the parts cannon until the owner sells the car.

Had a v6 diesel jag in today , sure enough the throttle flap was sticking ,bunch if codes map air mass turbo pressure etc .
Anyway the new unit was 500 quid 😮.
Found out later that where the boost pipe joins the intercooler theres a sort of box/ chaimber that had split on the seam , as a result of this flap getting stuck probably.
Should have smoked it also 😖....Doh! Kicking myself for that .
But much thanks for the info. I knew where to look and what to look for ,thanks to you . I just need to engage the brain a bit more .👍

    Good job.
I used to have a Citroen C4 diesel automatic and when it started to do a burn I would keep driving to let it complete the process.
There was no indication on the dash, but the engine sound changed, the engine felt rough on idle.
I kept it at a lower gear to keep the revs up to help the process finish, didn't take long.
It's a pity there's no indicator light to let drivers know the DPF is going through a cleaning burn process.
If you switch off before it completes, the whole process starts again, burns more fuel and lowers your mpg.

I think maybe the dealers think regen works all the time. but once you get to a percentage % not sure what thst is?
It cant break down the soot or doesn't run long enough to do so. Thats apart from other system failures sensors etc.

FIAT bought out Abarth, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari (road cars) and Maserati, then merged with Chrysler to become FCA, then merged with Peugeot to become Stellantis.
A conglomerate that will never produce a cheap simple small fast light 4 cylinder small capacity mid engine rear wheel drive easy to fix fun to drive car, because well you know why... it's all political.

Ambient temperature sensors might not even give a fault code. They might be partly working, sometimes giving bad readings because of corroded contacts. Water tends to run down the wires in the door from the mirror, or through the window seal, and get in the connector on some cars.
Another dealer unable to figure out what the real problem is.

Great video jimmy, Given its likely this car has had many failed or forced regens, did you recommend the owner to have an oil & filter change.. i would also suggest they do it asap with an air filter too. It just makes sense to educate people about oil changes too, esp after dpf issues…

Maybe realising all London Taxis up till recently were diesel will help you understand why people buy diesel vehicles that live in large towns.
