The movie would have been much better if they just ended when Laura posts the video revealing that it was Blaire who was responsible for the embarrassing video to the public, and having her to live the rest of her life with the guilt and hatred she would receive forever. But nope, they just had to end it with the dumb supernatural where she still gets killed.

Could've been better if there was something in the background while they were talking to each other and should've deleted the jumpscare in the end and just leave a cold and bitter feeling that the main character loses her friends and now everyone hates her
Yeah i wish the main character lived in the end. The plot was way to predictable. or..I wish her and her boyfriend lived then again he was bogus for posting the video. The main character recorded it and kept it on her phone but her boyfriend posted it.

I agree but this was inspired by The Blaire Witch project. The unorthodox camera pov and her name was Blaire so I kind of expected that from the start.

The idea was good, the execution was alright but I hate all the characters in the film and was glad of their predicament. They were all assholes and jackasses, by the middle of the movie, I was rooting for the dead girl.

That's how I felt. It had three genius ideas, the computer pov, the typing and depleting to reveal the characters, and the game to reveal their secrets. however the execution wasn't amazing and too many clichés were relied on.
I agree i didnt like any of the characters and wad just waiting for them to die it was interesting but i dont find it in the same ball park as it fallows or the babadook. Unique take but would be a c- in my book. It follows and babadooo had characters you cared about i never rooted for the evil in those movies but unfriended i was thrilled to just watch them die.

This movie is trash. I did expect it to be some paranormal activity kind I shit. I would of been ok with that. this movie is on a computer screen. Stupid glitches. This should not be put into the category of horror. Should be in the category of shit movies that aren't worth watching. This is my first time complaining about a movie. An hour of my life I'll never get back. I know it's my opinion but this movie is obviously terrible. Trailer looked good. The movie was just. I didn't even see the ending. I stopped when the last girl was alive. And just turned it off. I'm so glad I watched Jurassic world afterwards on movie tube. That movie I actually liked. This has to be the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. I couldn't even rate this movie. I don't have a rating for it. I get they are trying something new, but what they did was far worse than any typical ghost demon movie already out. I could rant all day. I can understand why some people hated, but this movie does get some things right and it has really clever moments. This is the most fair review I've seen cause it's pretty easy to hate on something specially when it's a film like this.
The only part of the movie that really bothered me emotionally and mentally was the cheating scene.

This has nothing to do with the review but I can't help but look at Chris's shirt and wonder, 'How on this green earth has Hollywood not been able to make a decent Dragon Ball Z movie?'
Anime in general just does not translate well into live action, the serial nature of the show won't help and the casting would not be an easy task either. I think Hollywood should leave DBZ as it is and come up with a more original idea and let the series be.
Mr Anderson well yes. also the main creater of DBZ is making his own movies which in my opinion is the better way to go about making DBZ movies
Mr Anderson The thing is about DBZ is that you could have easily treated it in a Harry Potter fashion. You could have Goku start off as a kid. Let the audience grow with him, make the series slightly more darker as the it goes on and let freezer be the main villain of the entire franchise in a similar way as Voldermort. With movies like Avatar, we know all those fantastical worlds can be created. Sure there would be some need for a little tweaking here and there to translate the anime to screen but its possible.

WolverinesNation92 I was psyched when I saw the trailer, and was halfway surprised when no one else was, now turns out that a critic likes it so that's uplifting. It's surprisingly good like Conjuring, Babadook maybe Paranormal Activity 1, and Saw III.

It was really underrated in my opinion. It was very effective for me because I was in my room with the lights turned off watching it on a computer screen, and it got wayyy deeper then I initially thought. It was a very surprisingly good movie, to be honest. Not to mention that it is actually quite funny at parts.

I have an idea for a movie like Unfriended, it's called "Anonymous" and it deals with an unknown hacker/online stalker who's threatening and harassing various people online, and he seems to know all of the people personally and is sending disturbing videos and personal information to all of them and turning them against each other, causing some to commit suicide and others to commit homicide. The Power of Anonymity is strong in this one...

Sorry, Stuckmann. But I give Unfriended and F. I thought it was absolute trash, and I went into it wanting to like it. The characters are very unlikeable and the "twist" at the end made me hate the main character even more.

I liked how the did the trailers for the PA movies, non of anything we saw in the trailers were in the movies so they were suprising to watch.

Saw this movie last night. I really enjoyed it. There were moments that I was scared shitless. The kills in the movie were very creative. The acting was decent. People who video chat can relate to this movie because of the realistic feel. 8.5/10.

Kackle Mackle I think the ending would of worked better if instead of being forced to kill herself, at the end, she made the decision to kill herself. I think that this would have worked better, seeing as it would show her feel grief and regret for her actions. This would show Laura getting her revenge in a way that is not repetitive and overused. (If you know what I mean)
Another way to of made the ending a lot better would of been to have left it open. After seeing the video of Laura Barn's drunk party video, seeing Blaire at the end, being the one who had filmed it; have Blaire stare at the screen for a bit, before Laura initiates another countdown. As in, have a skype message come through saying 5, then 4, ending the film abruptly before the countdown had time to end.
Either way, loved the film. I knew what I was expecting and I got what I wanted from this film. With its original (sort of) story telling mechanic.

This movie is a massive mixed bag. I loved the concept, the kills were cool, and I felt the acting was decent from the three male characters, but the acting from the three girls was shit, and there were some mind numbingly stupid moments, and the ending was TERRIBLE.
But I still liked it. Not great, but not really that bad either. I thought it was decent.

I watched this movie a couple of years ago when it first came out on DVD and I loved it. I thought the aspect of it being on a computer screen the whole movie made it feel very claustrophobic and actually having claustrophobia made this movie really scary to me. Also, like you said, the parts when the characters would just stare into the corner or off into the distance sent chills down my spine. It seriously felt like they were being possessed or something and it freaked me the hell out. I thought this movie was considerably better than most other people thought and I might actually buy this movie and watch it again sometime soon.
The only problem with this movie is that the trailer shows the exact order of the characters' deaths :/
Being a fan of found footage movies, I watched it just yesterday and it was pretty effective overall.
it's soooo crazy how different movie reviews of one movies can be. Chris and YMS Adam have COMPLETELY different opinions on the same movie and are my 2 favorite movie CZcamsrs . I love how they both review movies and have totally different personalities and styles but give amazing videos and content. They are always BOTH equally valid to me because its they're unique opinion opinions by definition can't be wrong. I really enjoy all the hard work and thought into their reviews and videos regardless if it's something they end up hating, loving and everything in between. I just love the contrast, how you ALWAYS give your genuine opinion and are obviously very very passionate about what you're doing. thanx for all the great videos man.
I just saw the movie today, and what really stood out is its atmosphere. There are sequences of stillness and characters looking at the camera terrified that definitely delivered tense atmosphere, and as the eerieness builds up from the beginning, it never broke away from the tension for the whole movie. This movie just feels tense, that I'm left shaking as the credits roll.

You know what startles me? When Laura's ghost asked who posted the video on skype and everyone was arguing who did or didn't Mitch was there standing and pacing around his room so it looked like he felt guilty and he was the one who posted it..
I watched this movie today at around 10:30 pm with my sister in the dark. I honestly have no words for the movie, to say it was scary is a understatement. It was horrific im still bothered by how quickly stuff escalated. For 2015 it was really different but still among the best horror movies i have seen, as unlike the others i wont be able to sit through this again
I totally agree, I had extremely low expectations going in but when I came out I didn't expect what I saw. I found it really good and the realism makes it scarier. I think it is a must see. (It only just came out in cinemas here in Australia) :)

I really enjoyed this film, and I love "found footage" films. However my experience was affected by two annoying women sitting behind me who talked threw the whole film. I ended up switching seats half way threw. Who pays 12 bucks to go to a movie and have a conversation? Why not go to a restaurant or a coffee shop for that?

I saw this in theatres, but it's much more effective when watching it on a computer, particularly a Mac. I really enjoyed this film, and like Chris, thought it was cleverly done.
this worked for me purely because i live on the internet and know that stupid people believe things easily, and know so little about how hacking and psychology works that they would fall for it.
also, the general lack of control; imagining "oh god a horrible thing is happening to my friend, and i can't even call the police to help them cause i don't have their address".

I found myself laughing through the trailer. The terrible teen acting paired with the forced ways they date the films made it look like a hokey mess. I might give it a try, but like paranormal activity, this looks gimmicky and contrived.

Hey Chris, I'm trying to make a movie review channel, and I'm very new to the channel building process. Do you have any tips or anything that could help with building a channel?
You nailed the reasons I watched this one all the way to the end. It doesn't necessarily require action sequences, gimmicks, or a big budget to tell a good story and keep the viewer engaged. It is a love-it-or-hate it type film, and I'm one who found it intriguing. As someone who was involved on the internet back in the days of local BBSs and seen online chatting evolve over decades, this film makes a thinking person examine what we have become as an online society. And at the same time it can be watched as simple edge-of-your-seat fun. Cheers.
I'll take this type of style than the found footage film style. I actually went in thinking it was going to suck but was very pleased with how entertaining the film was. 👍

You were honestly the only reason I wanted to check this movie out. I did earlier today and I have to say it's one of the better horror movie's I've seen. I felt like my heartbeat had gone up x4 during the more intense scenes.
The trailer for this movie really intrigued me, never went and saw it though. Maybe I'll pick it up now
Watching this movie in 2020, it holds up and i was entertained the whole way through. I loved the fact that a lot of it is me thinking about how i would react to that message or that moment and the characters literally types what i wouldve typed. Its amazing what they managed to do with this format of the online computer. Still need to watch part two but i heard it wasnt as good
It’s so funny I just got done watching this movie, it was really tense and had interesting twists. And utilized it’s Elements very well for a movie like this.

I saw it in school and rather enjoyed it. Felt very Fincher-esque in my opinion.
That movie is a great comedy.
The movie got so much press coverage just before it came out, but I don't know a single person that actually went out to see it
