I just accidentally found this video and watched it.
    Congratulations on passing your test...
My daughter had the same confidence issue you are having about driving, I know that her mom made her scared about driving when she was trying to teach her the practical part... I have a very different way to do it... I simply took her out in the country had her get behind the wheel and told her to take me home... She just looked at me in disbelief because I simply sat back and stared out the window... She drove around for a few hours until she found her way back to the house... She started out very slow and extra cautious I could tell that she was scared but I didn't say anything just let her go at her own pace... I only had to give her a little help twice and both of those were the location of things on the dash of my truck because she did not drive it... She was relaxed and had her confidence by the time we got home....
Lol her mom was unhappy because I didn't just tell her how to drive and were to turn ( you know that whole micromanaging thing that makes people nervous ) and my daughter passed her driving test the first time and she said it was because I trusted her enough to just set there and be there if she needed anything... Yup proud old man!
    You got this...

We moved to Idaho about 6 years ago, for a short time, and I was very nervous to take the written test. I hadn’t taken a written DMV test in close to 40 years. I studied like crazy. My husband took his test first and then told me I could skip questions if I was unsure and come back to them. That took a lot of the pressure off. I’m so glad you passed!!!

Just get behind the wheel and drive with your parent in the car. Do it a lot so you get comfortable. The driver test will be easier than you think... much like what you experienced in the written test. They'll check for your use of turn signals, following distance behind other cars, stopping at lights, making proper turns, and parallel parking (that's the tricky one).

Congratulations on passing the test !!!
Practice driving as much as is possible, starting, stopping, turning, and parking, at home and every trip to town, and stay on roads with slower speeds first, and then faster ones, to build your confidence. By the time you get to drive for your test, you will have less fear and more confidence.
My driving test went well, but the tester wouldn't pass me until I drove every day for two weeks. My mom told him she had to work, so I couldn't drive every day, and he told her to make time for me to do it before or after her work, because I needed to feel more comfortable behind the wheel. I didn't actually mess up any, but he made a judgment call. That was in the mid-seventies.
My neighbor never even took a driving test 2 years ago, just the written portion, because they waived it due to "covid". This is in North Carolina, and have now gone back to requiring both again.
I'm excited for you, Nevaeh, and hope for the best for you.

I flunked my written test the 1st time due to anxiety. Back in my day we had drivers Ed as a required semester in school. We all took our test together in the school cafeteria. I knew my handbook front to back but I suffered text anxiety. I cried and was able to go the next day and retake it in the dmv. I passed with a 100. I had summer driving with the driver Ed teacher and no problem passing the driving part. Unfortunately today they don’t require kids here in Texas to do it that way anymore. You can pay privately an ungodly amount of money or do parent taught. Take your time practice and look up if there is any videos for your area for the driving test route. That’s what I did a couple months ago for my stepdaughter and she had no problem when it came to her driving part. You can do it and nerves are good just don’t overthink it!

I'm french, in France they ask 40 multiple choice questions about situations on the road. However it is pretty much all trick questions about the situations but also the way the questions/answers are formulated. I am pretty sure no active driver that did the test/studying for it a while back would be able to pass it on the spot. (it also is a business, costs a bunch of money to do all those things. Might be less so in the US)

Driving is intimidating… at first! But, you got this!Practice driving in all kinds of weather and in all kinds of vehicles: the truck, van, and maybe dad can teach you to drive the tractor. If you get an opportunity to drive a standard/stick, do it. It’s all going to seem hard and scary at first, but start slow. Drive to the end of the driveway, then go a little further each time. There’s no better feeling than the confidence you’ll have knowing you can get yourself out of any situation because you’re familiar with a few types/sizes of vehicles.

You're very fortunate to live in a semi rural area, it's much nicer to practice driving if you don't live in a large metropolis with awful freeway traffic. Drive the tractor as much as you can, it may seem irrelevant but it helps a lot with understanding how a vehicle moves, and will help your confidence a bit too.

Awesome job!! 110 percent is what makes you …well you!! My daughter was homeschooled…could never test well…but she excelled at project based learning and public speaking! Now she is 28 and just received her Doctorate in Public Health . But don’t ask her to take a test …not her strong suit! Congratulations again …job well done!! Practice makes you better and time to feel comfortable behind the wheel!! Driving is a big responsibility…that you will do 110 percent well!!

Congratulations on passing the written portion of your test! I had NO doubt! Hopefully you'll get a chance to do more driving with your parents to gain your confidence behind the wheel. I was fortunate because driver's ed was incorporated into our high school curriculum. Once we passed that we didn't have to take a driving test at the BMV, only the written test. And I felt very comfortable behind the wheel of a car from the get-go.

Congratulations on passing your test. The way to get comfortable with driving is to get as much practice as you can and in real situations.
Your last two videos are awesome. Looking forward to seeing your next.

You 're doing great and the driving part of the test will go perfectly too. Celebration soup 😂...that's so funny...you're very creative like your wonderful parents.
The only time I ever parallel parked perfectly was during my physical driving test, I zipped in and out of there like a pro (I had to drive dad's ginormous car AKA the tuna clipper, family truckster, boat) ....I was as surprised as my testing instructor that I got it right,🤭 and suddenly... I could drive.
    You're on your way. 💞

Dear Neveah, I love watching you and your family growing, loving and learning much as I did in the very same area some fifty odd years ago when my parents made the same decision yours did. We relocated from another state to Sandpoint. (Bought what was the old drive in movie theatre on HWY 95 just north of Sandpoint. We turned it into a campground & trailer park.) My father built our home much like your parents have. Bonners Ferry is just a bit north but I did work at the Kootenai River Inn there for a time. I was nine years old when we moved. I have siblings who were older and one that was younger but watching your family is a very strong reminder of those times. I digress!!
Just wanted to let you know I now live in Scotland and recently had to take lessons, pass the theory test and then the practical. If I can do it at 62 in a country where we drive on the wrong (left) side of the road and nothing really seems to make sense in the signage and road markings then I KNOW you’ve got this. Share a little video of the long bridge the next time you head to Coeur d Alene or Spokane from Bonners. I LOVE that view of Lake Pend o’reille. Always knew I was “home”. (Even though home is now Scotland) ❤️♥️❤️❤️😍

I remember driving with my mom to my written like it was yesterday. That was more decades ago than I care to admit. I wasn't able to get my permit that time though... I failed the vision test. I had to come back with glasses. When you actually take your divers test, buckle up immediately. Do not turn the car on until you are buckled. The guy who tested me apparently was pretty strict with that and it was an immediate failure. My mom saw that happen to the kid in front of me and she told me. He also made me do a quick but smooth emergency stop that I wasn't prepared for. Fortunately I did it well. He said most kids don't get that one. Congrats for passing the first part! Funny story - when I first got my license, my mom stopped and got out down the road and told me to drive the car home. My little sister freaked out and got out to walk. She just couldn't believe that I could do it! Glad your brother is helping. It will be much easier for him when it's time. I love those makeup colors on you.

    @jayt9882 Před rokem +2

Well Done Nevaeh! Anticipation of something feared is always worse than the actuality. As someone below said, just get in the car and go up and down your driveway and yard! Get used to manoeuvring, (was going to say changing through the gears - but I guess it's auto?! I'm English, we're weird) three point turns, parallel parking - all that stuff until just moving the car around safely and confidently becomes second nature. That, together with getting out on the road proper as often as you can and you'll get through the practical test as you did this one. You'll be getting the doughnuts on your own in no time!! XXX
