@@Mersthamgal1 I watched that one again today. I've noted that restaurant for future reference. It's great to have someone on the ground there to give tips and they (her and hubby (love it when she calls him hubby)) do it for free to help visitors to Benidorm and Spain in general, "in here" 🙂 she's very addictive and her videos always make me miss the town.
Sadly people are STILL not listening to what they're being told by the WEF/Great Reset/Net Zero ..... under the PLANS they plan to abolish ALL " uneccessary" travel ....and "they" deem holidays as uneccessary travel .

Thanks for the interesting video. It's ridiculous that a restaurant would think they can get away with charging you to make a table up. The least you expect from a restaurant is a table and cutlery.
We’ve been going to Spain since 1974. Always had good holidays. I doubt we’ll be going there anymore.

Restaurants that try to charge those fees must be listed online.. So they can learn to behave „nicely“.. If one of my favourite restaurants tried that stunt against me, they could learn to f… off..

Yep , I purposely now earn below the tax threshold so pay no income tax ...I'm darned if I'm working my arse off only for our corrupt Politicians and Government waste my taxes or funnel them into their chums pockets

In Italy we call this “coperto”, which is typically charged by take away pizzeria’s with a terrace. It covers like the linnen and bread.
During fiesta time I find some restaurants put their prices up ..So I will go into an hotel who usually do a buffet for a set price and do not put it up ( They need to do lunch/dinner for their guests so are happy to have extra customers from outside ) They display their prices outside .

Year's ago when I had my first holiday in Majorca, I was disgusted to be told I owed another 15 euro on our hotel bill...an island tax ? I had spent 2 weeks there, spending money everywhere and then they mug me....Needless to say, we go to France 🇫🇷 instead..

Thanks Anna, very useful info. We're looking forward to our first trip to Benidorm in early September at the Gran Bali. The Poniente beach looks lovely and will hopefully be a lot less crowded than the other one.

Since we have put Spain off my family used the money I saved for a glorious 6 week journey to the state of Maine, we weren't swindled at any restaurant, or hotel or museum or attraction. So why would anyone want to travel to a place where you are financially abused???
Spain is turning into Greece. Now when you go to Greece before you enter a restaurant or a coffee shop you ask for the menu. To check the prices. If you don't like the prices find another place.

Is the overcrowded parking space problem in whole Benidorm or Levante area only that you know of? I have booked in gran bali area. If all Benidorm has this issue, what is the best advise /place to park.

At certain times of the year its impossible to park unless you have a reserved space in the hotel... We try not to go to town in the early summer, but late mid to late August its mainly Spanish in Benidorm, they drive down and just park up for a couple of weeks. We normally park down from the Palace in a small parking place but a couple of days ago I had to park about 500m away in a side street.
Ana iam coming xmas but I am getting fed up with all the scaremongering. If it carries on I'll cancell and go to tenerife

First point those restaurants ripping tourist off damage the whole industry and it would help if other local businesses reported them as well if not the whole area gets a bad name and word spreads fast, very fast compared to 30 40 years ago. Second point which you can tin foil hat me if you like but Carbon credits are coming which will restrict holidays and flights as you might imagine flying off on holiday will use up a big chunk of your allowance, don't think it will happen well come back and remember these words in the future.
No your NOT a tin foil hatter your spot on , also under the aviation plans for the UK under the Agenda2030 ....by 2030 there WILL be ONLY 3 airports operating in the UK Glasgow , Birmingham and Heathrow

it's the restaurant owner's own fault people will name and shame them on google, trip advisor etc and they will soon go out of business.
People should know which places are good and which ones are not, I think it's fair 👍
This is the thanks the British people get for building their country it was nothing more than a small fishing town with no industry look at it now thanks to the British people. You will miss us before we miss you just remember your own greed killed the tourist industry.

You just need a negative test, also Spain is not going to charge the tourist tax.
