Hi Ana get better soon, will it effect airbnb the tax. Plus you are going to loose people like they started with the 90 days only now this, the tourist tax, people won't come. It will be like covid empty benidorm. It feels like the gov do not want us there when yourselves do. We love benidorm such a shame. Big hugs
A maximum of 7 days doesn't seem so bad, I'm afraid it is the way things are heading but its something we have expected, I have 3 holidays booked for 2023 to Benidorm and it will not spoil my enjoyment at all. Hope you get well soon Anna take care and once again thank you for the excellent update.x

Thank you for your excellent video Ana informative as usual. Recently returned from 10 nights in Benidorm and then a further week in January. Unfortunately the one in January will be the last time. Fleece the tourist for all they can it seems. Many other holiday resorts await other than Spain. I and my wife have had some wonderful holidays in Spain and in Benidorm but other holiday resorts await. Get well soon Ana I wish you a speedy recovery and good health.

Hola Ana, thanks for an interesting and informative update. The tourist tax seems reasonable at a max of 14€ per person per holiday as it only applies to 1st week. que te mejores pronto y antes de su viaje. 👍😁🏖🏝🇪🇸

Hello Ana sorry to hear you are not well and hope you better soon. You was correct last week regarding the weather in Benidorm its been lovely for our stag weekend. With regards to a tourist tax it raises money for the local Town Hall spending. Mallorca has raised money with a tourist tax for a lot of years

I don't see a problem with what is proposed so long as it is clearly spent on improvements to the area. My only suggestion is that it should be take at the time of booking rather than on arrival.

Someone only going for a weekend or week may feel upset but people going for longer than that will be 'saving money'over a longer stay.
Because of economics,all countries raise prices/taxes.
I no longer 'eat out' in England due to rising cost and small portions.

Good new just found cheaper holidays in Cyprus now taxing in Spain ,all the long stays look at going to Cyprus with no extra tax’s to find (Happy Days again)
We have paid it in Majorca and didn't mind it's not that much if it helps the community in Majorca or Benidorm

Well that’s the end for us after All the year holidaying in Benidorm and Spain now retired with all the other cost as well but will remember the good days ( 3 months a year) sorry Spain as band the old ones from coming on long winter holidays after all the years. Hoping it will not affect the winter trade in Spain after such a bad 2 years.

Personally if the tax goes towards improving the resort then I have no problem paying it. Who wants to go on holiday to a sh1t hole? If it improves the less attractive parts of Benidorm then great! Let's sit back and see what they actually do with tax and how it improves the place.. if it doesn't then they are going to look like idiots..

Though I don't agree with the "tourist" tax, as Benidorm was built around said tourism, it's easy enough to budget and spend less in the shops etc... so it's no big deal really, the only real problem could be local businesses might lose out a bit as a result.
What sort of Tax and how much will it cost us ?? We have booked up for May for 10 days in 4* Hotel. Its over £2,000 already so I'm concerned. X
Just heard what you said about the Tax. We pay a fortune for CAR at the airport. Then the plane tickets have gone up. Its out rageous. We could cancel our holiday. !! Benidorm will loose visitors. Our economy in UK is dire so our food is hard to purchase. Now Benidorm wants to ROB US FOR MORE MONEY.
It has been confirmed now from 2024, so still long time. The tax is quite small, 0,50-2€ per night per person, depends on accommodation, top is 7 nights. Benidorm Hotels and bars were totally against this tax, to be fair

A year is a long time away in politics and alot can change. I've read that the Councils of the main tourist resorts have already said they won't enforce the tax and that the main Valencian opposition party have promised if they get in power next year, they will scrap the tax all together. Maybe it's not such a big issue.
They can't really decide, now it's a tax, not a voluntary thing any longer, but maybe hotels will be able to change all this, hopefully

Have you tested yourself for covid? I was in benedorn for the fiesta last Thursday then on Sunday I started being sick and really sore ears, headache runny nose sure treat and it turns out I had the new covid variety!
I Still have it now a week later!!

What if you are a resident of Valencia community but want to come to Benidorm for a break
If you come to a hotel or official accommodation, you need to pay for it as any other. There's no mention of exceptions so far

Hope your feeling better soon Ana. I honestly don't think it's that much €2 extra per night. Only €14 for a week or €28 for 2 weeks. It's hardly breaking the bank is it. 😉 I can't honestly believe people are saying " that's the end for us" 😂 come on people that's only the price of a meal out. Or about 6 cups if coffee in a cafe over the course of your holiday. It certainly won't put me off. Benidorm is do cheap anyway compared to other resorts.. Thanks for the updates Ana. X 😁👍👍

14 euros doesn’t sound much until you realise that two trips for a couple works out at 56 euros

2 € per person for a max of 7 nights = 14€ - that's nothing! It definitely won't stop me from coming to beautiful Benidorm! Totaly agree with you. It's hardly that much is it €14 extra for 1 week. That's not a lot. That's the price of a 3 course meal that we pay. Can't honesty believe people are planning on going else were. 😂

You can find it way cheaper in Benidorm than 2400, also you don't state characteristics of accommodation, amount of people, etc., so it's not really a valid information, taking in consideration on who knows if you compared identical accommodation options, same stars, same review rate, etc 🤷♀️ you can't just say it ans that's it... 😄
