Considering the recent moral panic over certain Rappers glorifying and encouraging gang violence, this is still pretty relevant.

Rather than addressing underfunding of social projects and local amenities, authorities want us to focus on cultural aspects that reflect society as though they are the cause, not the symptom.

"Video Nasties" were a thing in the 80s too. As regards to Child's Play, the uproar over those films came in the wake of the murder of James Bulger. It emerged the two kids who did it had seen Child's Play 3 and what they did was similar to a scene in that movie.

The best part of this incredibly funny show was how it exposed politicians and celebrities for the total morons they are.
They were very eager to jump on the latest bandwagon and give their wise words to the public, not realising, as any moderately intelligent person would, that it was total made up rubbish.
It did a great service in exposing the incompetence we have at the top.

I miss satirical comedy shows like The day today and Spitting image, where everyone got splatted, when it wasn't just a bunch of lefty "comedians" talking crap and pretending to be fashionable socialists, knowing full well that once the show is over, they will go back to their penthouses in mayfair/chelsea/kensington and cluck their tongues at dull, repetitive headlines about the NHS and brexit (looking at you, Daily Mash!)
