Partridge of all people should not make this schoolboy car error. The SL being the 2 door cabrio. Yes it was an S280 at the time of the crash. Which I understand was hurried to the back of the hotel in place of the regular S600 she would have gone in. Interestingly talking of options on these cars the 280 was lacking the esc and other basic traction aids of the day being the lower powered model. So had she been in the 600 as intended maybe Henri Paul would have kept control??? One for debate Alan.

broke: it's been alleged that the umbrella, which was rapidly opened and closed a few times right before the gunshot, was perhaps used as sort of a signal to somebody. also alleged that the man holding the umbrella may have been Ferenc Nagy, the exiled Hungarian politician who became an anticommunist CIA asset & who initially approached the CIA on a business inquiry about staffing the shady Israel-linked industrial exposition group Permindex with CIA officers, which declassified documents show the CIA eventually did in fact go forward with.
