    The sound of my Cummins is the thing i might miss the most. A Power Stroke or Duramax on their best day can't sound as good as a Cummins .

      Cummins sounds so much louder imo. I love the sound of my Powerstroke, but to be fair the previous owner had a delete done on it. When I trade it in I’ll miss that sound.

    Just bought an 18' Ram 3500 Laramie LongHorn dually to haul a 38' gooseneck 3 horse slant trailer. Had an 18' 2500 SLT cummins with a 6 speed manual which was nice for towing but no comforts in it. Found the Laramie LongHorn and that has ALL the comfort in the world in it. Definitely the nicest truck I have ever owned. See how she does going from Western NY to OKC next month for the wife's National horse show.

    I had all 3 trucks already and used them for towing the powerstroke and duramax and cummins are all great engines the cummins Is the slowest out of all 3. But you hook up a loaded trailer to it and just seems they to love that hard work the HO cummins is my favorite so far in my mexican opinion... with out offending anyone!

    If I needed a new truck I’d certainly consider a Ram 3500 Cummins. But my 2005 Chevy Duramax only has 40,000 miles on it and at age 65 I don’t want to go into retirement with a big bill to worry about. Nice rig he has there.

    I love these videos with Joey and Tony. Good having different opinions. That Ram setup is sure sweet and special. Not for an average Joe like myself. But sure is nice to dream and live vicariously through this channel. I hope they keep building these massive trucks. But for sure the next year and a half we are going to see a change in the RV Industry from availability of camp facilities and BLM sites to refrigerators being down sized to 12 volt only. (Norco in 1.5 year will not be making gas/electric refrigerator) sign of the times, I hope it's not true! IMO I see trucks like these and RV's holding their value, due to the demand and future as the word gets out and changes on the RV Industry horizon. Will be watching for that upcoming video. ❤ ✌️out.

      Thanks for sharing this, great info! I hope that campgrounds continue to be developed because it is really hard to get in some places due to so many people living full-time in them... I'm not against 12v fridges due to the issues I had with my gas/electric fridge but I get it👍🏾👍🏾

    to be fair, that isn't that big of a 5th wheel, it is large, but not big. A full profile, heavier rig would give a better indication. But love the video! I tow a 41' Solitude with a 3500 DRW HO 4:10 etc, it is amazing!

    Looking into my future retirement (6 years out) so starting my research early. I went from wanting a 2500 to a 3500, and now you making me think about the dually, (only two big issues would be the cost of diesel/def, along with diesel service/maintenance. The 2nd is: Dang dually's are massive!!!! So when unhooked at a campsite. The parking and just full-time focus on knowing where the rear fenders are. Well just got to get used to it I guess. I can see my limit in an RV trailer being at 20K in total. Now with just my wife and I, that is 400lb (being way generous) and using a Gooseneck. I know I would be right at my max tow for single axle and payload. Hmmm

    • @volkodavwolfcrusherlv7133
      @volkodavwolfcrusherlv7133 Před rokem

      5th wheels now a days should should towed by a dually. I have a new 22 ram 3500 dually and tows like a champ. If your worried about Def, you should look into 2012 and under sport chassis trucks. Yes they are big but don't need to worry about Def, max tow is 25k to 30k and most are low miles and all upgraded because they were just a rich persons toy

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  Před rokem +1

      20k, I would go dually, in some cases SRW trucks max out around 14000-15000 lbs so once you get over that, you will run out of payload and most likely axle rating 👍🏾

      I recently purchased a 2021 Keystone Montana high country 373 RD, a 16K fifth wheel. I will be towing it with a 21 Ram 3500 HO SRW. It has a huge storage area under the rear of the RV, which will allow me to better distribute my weight which should help me avoid exceeding the payload capacity or rear axle weight rating of the truck.

      @@Over_the_Hill_RV_Rookies If you don't mind me asking what is the Payload (on the sticker) and what also gears are you running? 410? Finally what is the Hitch weight? I'm asking this because I thought max payload would be around say 4500 and Max Tow would be like 21,000. Thanks

    • @Over_the_Hill_RV_Rookies
      @Over_the_Hill_RV_Rookies Před rokem

      @@Arabian1967Knight My truck is a Longhorn Ltd MegaCab with the HO Cummins/Aisin drive train & 3.73 rear. It’s a SRW. The max payload is 3,775 lbs. (lower than other trims because of the MegaCab & Aisin). The pin wt of our RV is 2,530. I will never load the RV to its max wt (16,000) as we won’t be full timers. I know I am probably going to be close to the limits but I feel I can manage the pin wt by distributing the wt in the RV better because of the large rear basement. It’s why I chose this floor plan. Max towing capacity of the truck is 23,000 but I don’t think I’d ever go that high. The max GCWR is over 30K. I believe with the RV I have I’ll be under 26K. I have a spreadsheet that calculates my wts. & I will be weighing the truck & trailer soon.

    I’ve been telling you this ever since I discovered your channel lol. Duallies make all the difference. If you tow a lot you need a dually. If you have a fifth wheel, you need a dually.

      @@JB_WhoWork all in your head. They do probably have a little better low end torque due to being inline engines and having much bigger cylinders than the V8 diesels. But in a timed test they will lose. Badly.
      But it’s all good though. They all do a good job with towing. I just think Ram is a distant third place now and will stay there until they update their trucks.

    2022 dodge ram 3500 diesel 10600 miles transmission blows out. Biggest pos. I paid 85k for the truck. HO motor Accion transmission. I know I'm spelling it wrong but it's supposed to be the best.
