These things are helpful! amazing job bro.
Glad you liked it! Cool intake!
Wow amazing work as always â€â€
Thanks! Fun car to mod!
Iâm a fan and more of a fan now that you chose the Supra, for a sports car and at that money or below I donât think you could of made a better choice
haha nice! Yeah not much beats this for the money!
Ignore any negativity man glad you got a manual I picked one of myself for my bday last November the culater grey one I love it! Modding it like crazy so far it had active DP, Vr cat back exhaust and hks BOV đźâđš
Oh sweet! Thats a super cool color! To be honest, about 99% of viewers are happy to see me pick the Supra over Z lol. Seems like the Z missed the mark a tad with the true enthusiasts. Supra is lot of fun to mod!
I came from a 370z man the new Z just didnât make the cut for me I fell in love with the supra. Supra is just so good all around
Yeah I wanted the new Z so bad, but it just wasn't as good as my 2016 Nismo. So I'm holding out till they make a new Nismo. Supra is so good tho and such a benchmark, nothing really comes close to it!
Definitely the first under the hood mod I will be doing ! Thanks for the video brother đđ»đđ»
For sure! Great way to get more sounds!
Bro you look happy with the manual mk5 and I love seeing that.
haha yeah it's such a blast of a car! Worth every penny!
big fan sir love you
Thanks!
Would be cool to hear it with the inlet as well. Glad youâre back in the Supra gang though man
Yeah that will be a tad bit louder. THat's what I had on my old Supra.
Nice! Now just need an exhaust to go with it!
Working on that! Should be here soon! Can''t wait for that ;)
I remember the days with your white oneđȘđœđȘđœ
Yeah that was some fun to mod!
This is my realistic aspirational car
It really is!
@@oreally8605 username checks out
Sweet! Keep working towards it! You can do it!
Would be a very interesting comparison between your new look Supra versus the one your FIL owns! And consider yourself lucky for always not getting dirty after working on your car đđ
My hand got a bit dirty lol. But his car is identical to my old one ;)
Hey, what is that clip you took off of the pipe that the breayher hose clamp is also on? I think it's exclusive to manuals. It's at 1:28
Thats just a cable that is clipped to the pipe. All Supras have that. You can just unclip it and leave it
Thinking about purchasing this intake as well. Would you recommend opting for the turbo inlet pipe?
Yeah I'd go for the inlet. Makes it a bit louder and removes the huge plastic OEM inlet. The new design has a silicone inlet vs aluminum like what I had on my old car. But definitely the way to go! We carry both on our site ;)
Which one do you think sounded the best, the Armaspeed one or this one ? I am planning to get one for me, but I like the turbo "whistling" more than the actual "whooshes" if that makes sense.
I'd say they will both whistle the same. Definitely go for the MST with the inlet pipe. Armaspeed is a bit louder on the blow off sound. Armaspeed is a bit louder overall tho for the induction noise. They both ship quick! So let us know if you want to make an order ;)
You donât have to tune the car for just the intake do you? Since youâre changing the amount of air going in. Or does the ECU already know to do that?
I know some boosted cars require a tune since the air/fuel ratio is going to change.
Nope. The only sensor in front of the turbo is a temperature sensor I believe. Boost and everything is measured after the turbo. So it makes no difference. The ECU compensates for the better flowing intake to make stock power. A tune will open up the power even more with a intake like this vs the stock one tho
â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€ the supra
Thanks! Epic car!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed very welcome ,happy for you
Apprecieate that!
How much more do you hear the turbo with the MST V2 inlet pipe versus not having the inlet pipe, as in V1? Would you say you still hear the turbo alot more with the V1?
It's a slight increase in sound. Not crazy, but certainly noticeable. We seem to sell the MST intakes with the inlet pipe most of the time. But you can always order just the inlet pipe later on if needed
This or armaspeed? I have 2022 supra and i canât decide
Question with the turbo inlet? Would you need to tune it? To make it work ? Or is it not needed
Nope. Turbo inlet option just makes the intake a bit louder and it's slightly better for intake flow once you do dive into tuning.
No tune required? It won't throw off the stock air ratio? Also these new 2023 supras are all locked and require "extra" steps to be able to tune these new manuals. Just got my manual I would love to do these easy bolt on upgrades but my previous car threw a fit just upgrading the the intake. Wouldn't run without the original box intake, it was a bmw 335i no tune
Nope! The stock intake only has a temp sensor. No MAP or MAS in the air intake. A local shop to me already unlocked and tuned a manual Supra. Made about 580 WHP with E30. I'll be working with A90 Shop to tune mine. I'll have to ship them my ECU and they can unlock it and tune it. So it's doable! Just have to pull the ECU for the unlock.
But these cars are designs to push stock power no matter what. So they compensate for bolt ons to always maintain stock power. No issues. With a tune the intake will help add more top end tho
Do you have to torque the strut brace to a certain ft/lb spec?
I'm not really sure. I just did it nice and tight. Probably close to 40lbs
@@BrosFOURRSpeed thank you! I got CTS braces to put in before spring. Can't wait for more supra adventures. Eagerly awaiting spring.
I broke the clip on my breather hose >< How do you make it look so easy, that thing was a bitch to get off lol
It's tricky. Just gotta press hard on the sides where the plastic as the rough edge and it'll pop off
So MST > Armaspeed? Is MST a better product in your opinion?
lol I have an Armaspeed one to test on the car. I'll be testing an AWE as well and will make a full comparison of the three! We carry all of them so I'll go over everything with each kit! They are all great tho and just depends on your price range
â@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thanks for replying
No problem!
Will you be shipping out the ECU, or go with BM3, or JB4?
Yeah I'll be shipping the ECU. JB4 isnt a real tune, it's just a boost controller. I'll get the ECU unlocked and everything squared away ;)
I actually want to buy a new separate ECU... such an expensive hobby.
Yeah I've seen people doing that. Would be cool! Wonder if thats a way to get around voiding warranty lol
â@@BrosFOURRSpeed Does the intake do anything to the warranty? I never owned a car brand new to know đ
@@mk5_3 not really. The dealer would have to be so picky. But they would have to prove the intake caused whatever issue you brought the car in for. If something did happen, Iâd just put the stock intake back on. But most dealers wonât have any warranty issues from an intake. If you had an ECU tune and any engine or transmission issue popped up. Theyâd definitely blame the tune. Bolt on parts not so much
Do u feel more turbo lag after installed this intake?
Nope. If anything the turbo feels more responsive. When I had my last Supra tuned, this intake over stock added like 15 WHP in the higher RPM too. So it definitely lets the turbo breath! We have a few intakes available on our site brosfourrspeed.com
Would you need a tune after getting a intake?
Nope! The stock ECU compensates for any changed and runs just fine
Do you need tune after installing?
Nope! There are no MAF or MAP sensors in the intake. It just does temperature I believe. So nothing
@@BrosFOURRSpeed thanks đ bro.
No problem!
Is the intake pipe installed backwards here, or does it matter? I just bought mine and directions have the beveled end facing towards air filter.
It might not matter. But I have a detailed install coming on this and I did put the beveled edge towards the filter. If this video shows the other way around, I guess it doesn't matter lol
@@BrosFOURRSpeed appreciate it! Will definitely give the new video a watch when dropped. Love the content đđ
@@brianmcmillan5652 Thanks!
Do I have to retune the car if install new air intake?
Nope! Direct bolt on
What tools do I need to install- so I can buy them
Basic hand tools. Screw drivers, pliers and thats about it
Would this void warranty? I know subaru would.
Technically no. Dealer would have to prove this part caused whatever issue you brought it to the dealer for. Worst case if something happened and the car had an issue, just put it back to stock. Bolt on things like this can't actually cause an issue unless you did a really bad job installing it and maybe the filter popped off and it sucked in dirt and had an issue. But depends on how picky dealers are too
Thought you traded the supra in for the Z?
Nope lol! We had 2 press vehicle Zâs, but never bought one.
Did you get married? Your ring matches your intakes!!
lol yeah a few months ago ;)
