I always say, your muscles have to act together as a team to keep you in balanced. Strength is so critical for this team to work together. Great exercises!

Great exercises for balance. One thing I did with my patients be they stroke patients, amputees, MS, Parkinsons, seniors, ...when standing or walking exercises, I put sandbag weights on their shoulders. This raised the center of gravity. This caused the brain to recuit more motor units to maintain balance and good posture. We started out with 1 or 2 pounds and added more weights as the skill level improved. Saw a lot of improvement in balance, posture, and gait cycle using this technique.

I'm 73 and I have Meniere's disease, so I have a real problem with balance at times. I'm sure people think I've been drinking too much alcohol at times. It's 2:10am here in down under Australia, so I will start these exercises tomorrow. Thank you for these tips. 😊🇦🇺

I like learning stuff like this to help prevent falls, as I have occasional vertigo (that luckily responds to the half somersault maneuver), and 1 weak knee. Hoping to learn stretches to be able to continue cutting/filing toenails 🦶 thanks if you can help.

Hoy Eric, as always a great video! My balance has always been a point of concern, because my toes are a bit higher than normal on my feet. With your recommendation I'm finally taking this serious and I'm working on my balance. In this regard I notice that it is of utmost importance to keep my back as straight as possible. Another thing. I've amused myself for several years with ninjutsu. In this art there is a lot of attention to falling - forward, backward and sideward. This saved my teeth and other parts of my body more than ones ;-)

Hello Eric, I'm french, my english is not very good. I'm 63 years old. I love all your exercices. I'm lost. I would like to know for each exercise how many times to do it and the number of repetitions to perform. Thanks Eric

Hi Eric, just found your channel today and I am 73 years old. I had my 1st hip replacement 08/2000 and the 2nd 08/2001. I have not had any problems but I do have arthritis on joints in this body. I am counting steps as my exercise routine and have reached over 7 to 8 thousand a day. This has helped me control my A1C, weight maintenance and other health issues for a senior citizen. I have watched several of your videos and the core training is what I need. I am hesitant in trying them alone because no one is home during the daytime with me. With COVID, I have to be cautious about visiting gyms and I want to stay safe. Can you direct me core exercises I can do sitting in a dining room chair? Any suggestions will be deeply appreciated. Take care and stay safe. Blessings Always Ms. P.

You know how older people seem to have many falls - is it sometimes because of poor balance ? Great video - thanks Eric!

They say old people fall and break a hip, but more often it’s that they break a hip then fall!

Mr. Daw, what age do you consider Senior Citizen? My balance and strength is better at age 60 than it was at age 25 so I assume raising two boys to adults has helped with that. I will be 61 soon and do not want to lose the strength that I have. Also, I have followed your advice on improving grip strength using grip exercises and it is working well! Thank you Mr. Daw for your videos and advice!
