Damn, Rocket is a great interview lol He should do more...They don't even use him enough on the Yankee broadcasts.
Was 15, playing tournament/traveling ball in Florida, was at third base that game. I could make any throw on the field, had the arm but not an infielders glove, batter smokes a low liner down the base line, I dive, ball takes a skip back towards me, couldn't react fast enough, hit me in the eye socket/nose. Nose explodes, blood everywhere, im out cold on my back, third base coach saves me from choking on my own blood. Ball hit me so hard, the stitches from the ball was the scab around my eye socket, looked like Frankenstein for 2 weeks. I never played infield again, screw that shit, send my ass to the outfield. Here I am 30 years later, still have issues with breathing through my nose from that hit.
Will never forget, back in the early 90's, that in the classic Bobby V's (Valentine) restaurant - bar in Stamford, CT there was a hugh poster of Clemens titled "The Rocket" in the guys bathroom. What a master to watch all those brilliantly pitched games to follow.
Thanks Rocket for all those years commandeering the mound up here in Beantown. You were a phenom. Never forget the young thin flamethrower striking out 20 batters in one game. We came so close in 86..Billy Buck will forever live in infamy. 2004 ( and 07, 13, 18) made up for all those years of heartbreak. New England will never forget Big Tex aka Rocket Roger 🚀
Did Buckner make them lose game 7 too?
Letting the kids give their game performance feedback is huge. A perfect way to measure their dedication, and attention to detail. In the end, the kids will drive their own progress.
My go-to guy on the old-school RBI baseball Nintendo..
Valenzuela was the man for me
Such a great game. One of my favs on the NES
Legend.
I had no idea he was so damn cool.
Happy to see Mike piazzas son is doing well
One of the greatest pitchers.
Should have asked him about Mindy McCready.
His 95 was often heavier than a hundred
“Come stand in the batter’s box and watch as I throw you a 95 / 98 mile an hour fastball.” Yeah, cool, right after I do something less scary like swimming with hungry sharks.
OMG. Coach pitching strikes to 8-9 year olds is almost impossible. LOL!
hahah i was pitching to 6 year olds at a baseball camp. lobbing it over the plate. some kid manages to step halfway across the plate, swing and get hit with the ball and his mother thought it was my fault!
was Roger Clemens the player who was clucking like a chicken on the Simpsons?
Ever since he threw the bat at my boy Piazza I lost respect for this guy
Or the connection to fool around with steroids n get away with it🙄✅👁👁
entire league was roided up and he's the one with 7 cy youngs...
He didnt say much of nothing lol
Steroids abusing isn’t hustling lmao
Yup. It wasn't the ice baths that kept him going into his forties.
Zero talent but a tonne of character....
