    Jordan’s father DEFINITELY belongs there. He put up the hoop and encouraged fierce competition between his two sons. He attended his high school games. Additionally, he nearly went broke traveling to all his son’s games in college. He was heavily involved.

    I have the perfect example - Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    Someone from the most broken environment you can emerge from, and yet in this clip on CZcams "Floyd Mayweather Jr Gives Father emotional induction speech" you will see how Floyd credits entirely his dad for his success and drive to be better. And to never accept enough. It's powerful and doesn't get the airtime I think it deserves to show how a father can change someone's life to be extraordinary.

I’m a supervisor at work and I was recently ridiculed for some of my actions as a leader. I looked in the mirror and found that it was me. It was my fault. I need to grow. I need to discover new parts of myself. Struggle through my situation, pivot, adapt, grow. This thing isn’t bigger than me.

    This is all well and good, but every parent should be careful not to push their kids too hard to excel in sports. You can REALLY fuck your kids up by being too hard on them about this stuff during their formative years. Also sports aren’t for everyone, you should be asking your kid whether or not they really want to be playing sports and how important it is to them. There’s too many parents who force their kids to play sports just to recapture their own glory days, which is incredibly selfish.

    • @colinzeta4362
      @colinzeta4362 Před 2 lety

      Yea your correct. It's really about guys identifying human beings and not players. You will always be able to find talent and/or develop it. You have scouts around the country. Mike Tyson is that story or Tom Brady where it's about this guy has a longer road to go but stick with him.
      Its not to say everyone can be developed or everyone will be next level. It just means not all greats have to be child prodigy look at how much work Kobe put and he had talent.
      In team sports it's the organization everyone has to play a part.

    • @Crown42
      @Crown42 Před 2 lety

      @@colinzeta4362, exactly! Also, the majority of these athletes have good genetics, which plays a huge role in their success. You can't tell me that an average guy can work out every day and jump like Michael Jordan. Lol.

    • @colinzeta4362
      @colinzeta4362 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Crown42 yea when you talk about LeBron or Tiger your taking guys who have extreme passion from a young age. These guys are talking about motivation. You could say they started with motivation and with hard work they developed talent. But when you take guys who want to get out of the hood, have world class talent, and scouts everywhere it's more on organizations not screwing it up, and others keeping that kid from drugs and the stuff that derails careers.

    • @Crown42
      @Crown42 Před 2 lety

      @@colinzeta4362 , true! It was this one guy from my city that was a high school football player that was six foot three, and 220 of lean muscle. His teammates told everyone that he didn't work out a lot, yet he was strong as an ox and had superior speed.
      He even signed to Clemson to play for them but got arrested for selling drugs and possession of a firearm and got his scholarship revoked.
      That goes to show that it's not always hard work sometimes it's natural talent.

    Tell that to LeBron James. Dude grew up with no father. Talent has carried him and he undoubtedly had mentor/handlers since he was very young. Many great athletes are raised by single moms. What single parenting can’t offer that two strong parents can offer is strong spiritual/moral principles and the character the environment brings.
