the religious statues bit stems from the Indian funeral customs --- my friend Frank runs Barrow Boating and he does a lot of on the water funeral trade with our Indian population. There is also an area with a landing built where they carry out funerals.. I like your videos and your tunes.

Welcome to Leicester from the Canal & River Trust Volunteers, please stay on the Friar's Mill Visitor moorings until you see the notification that Birstall Lock 45 has reopened. I was aboard the Green Life-Boat 'Kingfisher' you saw retrieving litter above St. Mary's Mill Lock 40, it is owned by the Leicester City Council and manned by the Leicester Environmental Volunteers

I do love watching your videos and have for a very long time and absoulutely love them, However I do hate that trash in your beautiful canals is very much the same s our trash on the roadways in Americ!!! It's so terrible that people can't just put their rubbish in containers that are available to them!! Sorry, My wife says that I'm talking like the British people all the time!! LOL That's ok too, because I've been accused of having a Southern Accent many times due to I'm from South Alabama, USA! I love escaping to the country along the canals with you, but several stops you've made to villages and towns have piqued my interest in those as well. The pubs, museums, shops, pubs, parks, castles, pubs, restaurants, and of course the pubs. Thanks for all of this! Looking forward to seeing Leicester.
You do know of course there are at last count roughly 22.5 thousand peeps living vicariously thru your pleasant daily grind? And tho' early mornings and long lock days can be a drag, having a snug tiny home bobbing on the water to snuggle into every evening must be a welcome escape. And of course Allan makes a boat a home.

teenage years when living in a small village it also had a lovely little river in Bricket Wood Herts.
That was over 60 years ago great memories. I really like your music quite unusual 😊.
One thing that really pisses me off is the yobs who are not contented until they cause damage to other people’s property. I really do think that short sharp painful shock treatment to these yobs would make a difference to there attitudes, instead of a slap on the wrist and make the punishment fit the crime. You three make my day as you are such a loving couple with Allen😂.

Your editing and cinematography just keeps getting better and better. You guys are such naturals for this kind of thing. Emily's hair is getting longer and she's starting to look more piratey or boaty, in a cute adventurer sort of way, with Benny the troubadour and Alan the ship's mascot. We just need Emily in a white, long sleeve piratey blouse, black jeans, and knee high boots and you guys could easily be the pearls of the U.K. waterways. Love your videos, as always!

Your cinematography is so beautiful, very subtle.
So lovely to see our home area on your channel. We walk our dog by the canal and enjoy the loveliness of the surrounding Ayelstone Meadows and have been known to pop into the Lock keepers Cottage for a cuppa. We are really fond of our city and feel so lucky to be so close to all the city offers and be able to walk through beautiful country side. Doesn't always get a good press and the good bits get overlooked.

Elderflower dipped in batter and fried......
During your usual intro, instead of saying “...and this is Alan...”, have you ever shown a clip of Alan meowing with on screen, or hand drawn subtitles that read “and I’m Alan”.?
That might be fun to try if you haven’t already 🙂.
I took some pictures of my cat. I made some comic book style speech bubbles out of cardboard painted white and with a thick black boarder all the way around.
I’d hold the camera with one hand and the speech bubble with the other 🤣

❤ your vlog! It's been 118 degrees here in the Sonoran desert. We hunker down in the shade out of the sun's rays. The waterways look so cool and shady. Lovely. You are truly blessed. I saw some water yesterday, it was a mirage on the road while heading to Wal-Mart. Not much traffic on the road as everyone disappears to rest in the shade. Like you 6.00 in the morning is major chore time. ❤ you guys! See your next adventure next week. 😊

We cruised this section 32 years ago. Stopped in Leicester for Indian take-away and took the advice not to moor there. My log shows "great scenery". Enjoyed the vid.

Hi there, i know your vlogs are behind so Elderflower season is over, but next year you should give eldeflower fritters a try. Shake off the flowers to make sure there are no bugs, break into smaller florettes. Make a simple batter but fairly thick with flour, pinch of salt and beer or sparkling water. Put sone oil in a pan a couple of inches deep, dip florettes in batter, fry until golden, drain on kitchen roll and serve with some lemon and a little caster sugar. They are gorgeous. Love your vlogs, you are one of my top two channels. Stay safe x

Good to see you having a good time in my neck of the woods. Disappointed to have missed you at my regular local Watering Hole at ‘KING’s LOCK TEA GARDEN ‘ Aylestone , just before the river Soar joins the Canal. No chance of problems with the River in Summer . In winter time the whole area can be flooded over the Towpath ! Nice of you to give the Aylestone Meadows Area some nice comments. Leicester has ( in the Past ) had a very BAD reputation with Boater’s, but with the new secure Moorings in the City Centre lets hope that is a thing of the past . Looking forward to seeing what you think of the City and its many Food offering . 😊

😂ha! 28°Celsius....I will gladly trade with you!! It was 114°Fahrenheit(45.5°Celsius) yesterday at my ranch in the Mojave Desert. Cooled down to a lovely 90°overnight. Ha!

I live in extreme southern Louisiana, USA and I start to get amused when I hear your concern about 28-degree heat but then I remember that when I get overheated, I can retreat into my 70-degree air-conditioning and you have no such recourse! Good on you.

Brilliant that you cruised through 12 locks in the early morning when it's cooler. That one lock looked pretty hard to open! The pontoon mooring in Leicester looks like a prime spot for you moor your boat. Look forward to seeing your next episode as you explore Leicester. Jenny
It’s a diesel engine so it’s got to be either the fuel or the air. Rough running may be a bad injector. Check for an unusual smell and smoke. If it seems rich it may be a dirty injector. Easy to fix.

In the year of the Queens Silver Jubilee 1977. I was stationed / living at RAF (USAFE) UPPER Heyford , Oxon. The day I arrived from my home in southern CA, It was 30 degrees Celsius! I thought it was very nice my English friends weren't happy at all. :-)
