Just want to say/remind you, this is YOUR adventure, we're just lucky enough to be along for the ride. The only consideration you need to make is, is it right for you? If you answer yes, then nothing else matters! All four of you are amazing (yes, I'm including your dad!) and the van looks amazing. This is coming from some one who's wife puts the emergency department on standby any time I get out the power drill, so you can only imagine how amazed we are a the work you've done in such a short period of time!
To all the "criticism" (I'm sure it's meant to be positive), my daughter says, "shake it off, shake it off" ... yes that's a pop reference 😉
The tiles look amazing! I need to get some tilling for Ganymede. Loving that “Ginger” is still determined to get to Alan!
In that space where the window is not going in you should have a picture of you big boats put there.Your tile Emily was very good.

You're not going to cut a hole in the bulkhead between the cab and the main body? You'll really want that when it's raining hard or cold and you don't want to step outside just to go from front to back.

You've done an amazing job. The colours combined with the wood give it the much needed warmth so it doesn't have that white sterile ambulance look. It's very cosy and those tiles are just beautiful. Well done. Looking forward to your Italy trip now.
You've done a really good job guys. The most important thing is how comfy it is & how you feel about it. I think I'd be tempted to try living in it for a week at home before setting off to Italy though. That way you can iron things out easier.
I absolutely love the tile! You're so right about the paint though, looks like what you'd find in the diaper or nappy of a newborn. Emily, you look so much happier since your viewer brought you advice and "stuff". Yay!

Run a scalpel lightly around the edge of the fridge. Just enough to cut the plastic film but even if you go a bit too hard you won't see the cut marks

A Stanley knife will cut those extra bits of plastic off your fridge easily.
And if the paint peels off the ex ambulance drawers or you want to get rid of more of the white without weight can I suggest stick on vinyl?
Just rough the surface up a bit with a fine grit sandpaper, wipe it down and it should stick no problems, and not scratch off like paint. You can get some realistic wood look ones to go with your rustic vibe as well as bright patterns!
Razor blade for the plastic on the fridge. Looks wonderful.

Looks good but you should have primed under the tiles and if you put candle wax we're under the wood that rubs on other wood it will slide perfectly

Hi Ben & Emily: Emily did a stellar job installing and grouting the gorgeous Spanish tiles. It really pops! And the sink is the piece de resistance! Love the cabinetry and handles, the cladding, and the pops of color around the van. Your bed looks comfy too! Can't wait to see you next week as you begin your journey to Italy. Have a great weekend. Tile work is terrific! Put some beeswax on the wood bits of the bed where they slide against each other, and it will be very easy to slide the bed frame in and out.
I would have used a grey grout so it doesnt need cleaning so much. Nice tiling cuts

Has Alan got a microchip in case she gets lost overseas and are you contact details up to date with the registrar ? Chips can stop working, so best get it checked every vet visit.

Get a hairdryer on the protective peel in the fridge…it’s usually enough to loosen it. Not always, but usually :)
Side opposite of hinges, does the side panel screw on. If so pull that panel, slide front panel out, finish peeling and reverse order reinstall. Maybe 4 minutes start to finish. Safe travels.
oh and, if you want to change the color that would be the time. An unmounted piece of formica or other material, ? galvanized tin? would substitute nicely.

The Van looks really nice! Much better now that it's not all white. I'm going to assume that you put some grommets or something between the solar cables and the van where they pass through holes in the van metal. If not do so real real soon, wouldn't want a short between the van and that nice new solar collector. Neither would like that, wouldn't like it one bit.

Use a small blade on the fridge like the car wrappers do
Just bought myself the exact same ambulance! So excited to get started and eventually get to travelling in it! Looks like it’s going to be a lot of work but all in due time💪🏼
