Whenever I see Edric on the podcast... I instantly know it's gonna be a good time
Fr. Same when Nick and Patrick are in the podcast too.
edric is my fav guest on the podcast. The iron will, the logical thinking and OCD bed cleanliness is inspiring haha.
"you are presenting yourself as as obstacle" - Edric 2020 : )
When edric was telling the story about the girl on his bed I already knew he was more pissed that she had the audacity to sit on his bed when she didn’t shower because I’m that way too 🤣
You know on TV when it looks like you're getting a new episode but it's just a rerun? This was the reverse of that.
I started cracking up when David said "that's why I have a Toyota 4 runner" with a straight face LOL
@17:43 Very true about introverts. We don't need a lot of social interaction, but we need enough. Two weeks of barely any social interaction and I found myself bored to death on a Saturday, which I haven't felt in years.
Yea, if I don't have work or school, give me a week and I'll start cleaning anxiously or trying to go out
But with being around people at work or school? I can only really go out once a month
@@BeepBoop-z2v Eh, fellow Hmong person. Wassup. That's all I wanted to say. Lol.
"Mother fucker, you were never born with eyes" this line had me DYING 🤣🤣
To my memory, babies can discern happy and unhappy faces very young. Neutral faces maybe registered as unhappy. A lack of warmth or happy faces can cause anxiety in infants. In studies babies who are shown or presented with an unhappy care giver either react negatively (crying) and/or slow in eye contact, cooing, movement.
David, get some rest man. Your editing be slipping. xD nah but loving these podcasts bro!!
I think you included the “in this episode” audio clip from the last podcast instead of this one.
Was just about to say lol
editing error lol
i thought i was trippin’ at work when i was listening to the audio only
I love this duo, always have an interesting perspective on things while keeping it real. Good vibes always 🤙🤙🤙
I had to pause and go watch the documentary. It was so intriguing and mind-blowing. I'm so happy that they got the results of the study, 10,000 pages. Thank you David for speaking on this!
whats it called?
Aaron Wong Three Identical Strangers
I was so confused hearing that clip at the beginning 😂
I want my confidence level to be "David in donut leggings" level. Honestly this guy is so funny, I love it.
I know I’m a big crybaby but I can’t be the only person who cried their eyes out hearing about these kids for the first 20mins of the podcast, right?!?!?!?
None of these bastards who did this to the kids got arrested?!?!?!? Even after one of the kids committed suicide?!?!?!?
Just going to take this time to plug a #SaveOurChildren here
Edit: I’ll go do some research about these cases after the podcast is finished
Did you ever do the research?
Your taiwan series became part of my taiwan experience. Planned the trip with my 2 bff and we watched your vlog, showed us a lot. When we rewatch it, we reminisce in our experience ❤️
I think it's easy to feel travel can be cheap when you have a powerful currency. I only got to really travel when I left South Africa to work abroad. Also, your passport can get easily get you so many places where as many 3rd world passports can make it difficult and more expensive. To go the US in 2015, my visa cost more than 200 dollars. That doesn't include flights and accommodations.
But, I guess if anything, that should make Americans and other first world citizens more appreciative of how accessible travel is to them.
David! Keep up the variety in podcasts it's awesome!! With nick and pat it's like a night with the guys, and with edric it's like a chill hangout.
48:20 please disregard this comment, I’m just bookmarking where I am so I can resume later
Emotional needs are a type of sustenance. The same experiment was done on chimps and produced similar results
I love listening to David coz he has really good advice and I respect his view on life. I’m only 19 but I feel like I’ve grown and learnt thinks faster than I would have on my own. Implementing some of the things David does or thinking about some of the things he says has made me so much happier and saved me a lot of regret. Obviously I’ll still make mistakes but I’m happy I’ve followed David this long. Much love
I feel the same way. Been listening ever since he started this podcast. I feel like I've learned so much from him that I wouldn't have learned either way.
I wish I could actually just use any of this information. 67 times out of 10 Indians the fucking useful input he gives out into the world it's actually completely useless for me because well just some of the variables for different situations this complicates go through them all. I don't know how many more speaking up on the social aspect. Other stuff can be very useful like the travel advice.
Social advice though gets way more complicated when you're talking about different people and different variables of a situation. never mind so tight you can't tell whether or not someone is just being an asshole and didn't want to call call them out cuz you don't want to look like the asshole
In college, I didn’t have much money, so I did couch surfing in Japan. These amazing Japanese people let me stayed at their home for free, and they spent time with me. Great experiences with good people and good food, and this ramen place was so good. The ramen was around $5 vs $10-$15 in America (back in 2013 now $17-$30 in my city). One of the host, she even gave me her house key, because she wanted me to go back to her place, whenever I get tired from walking around the city.
I respect David’s realness about being vulnerable (about losing a meaningful relationship). I feel that way too. Cave man life 😂
as ridiculous as Edric is, he for sure aint no simp 🤣
Listened on spotify and had to come comment, man Ed is a bundle of laughs idek if he means to be funny.
David I feel like you would be really fun to have a conversation with. Keep up the good work!
Just from the title, "I thought mine was broken as well loool"
As a more introverted kind of person, I think having human interaction and affection from people who REALLY click with you, not even romantically or anything like that, fulfills that need for love and emotional well-being; and, interactions and time spent with people who don't really mean anything to you is what makes an introvert tired or anxious and in need to get away and spend time alone.
That's just how I experience life at least, I don't know if my experiences are common or not
I agree, which is why I often feel drained.
Sounds about right
I agree with any place you travel to can be expensive. As a younger adult this kept me from traveling, but after traveling once for the first time I learned that it doesn't have to be as expensive as you think. You can find things to do and places to do for cheap.
sometimes you choose to ignore red flags to focus on the positives. A lot of times it fuckes ya over lol
i dont care what people say but edric is a goddamn legend
I was so distracted by David’s pants lmfao I love them so much I want a pair
'3 Identical Strangers'...it's a great doc.
Thank you! Gonna watch it now
I haven't finished the episode yet but I really hope you feel better Edric, I have a friend who suffers with really bad anxiety and I can't even imagine how hard it is to deal with those thoughts and feelings. But don't give up, sending good vibes to you and all who read this
I absolutely loved the first bit of this podcast, SO interesting!
Plot twist: the person asking for advice is a pathological liar.
I would LOVE to see a comedy skit series about the end of your first relationship
Like how you made a romantic series
David you better show us the progression of that damn 4Runner
Can I get a link to wherever David got his cute PJ pants
I think he got it from MeUndies
David, bro your pants are absolute fire
I'm where Edric is now I used soft and caring but with time I putt me first some people think I just that resting pitch face lol
This soul concept "fit" the explanation for things we didn't understand in the past. TIL THIS DAY, it's still being used like wtf stop. Just accept that we don't know the answer.
Personally, I travel to experience culture through the different foods, so I could travel frugally with where I sleep like capsule hotels or specific landmarks and destinations to visit while abroad, but I find it hard to go cheap on the foods sometimes
I really appreciate & enjoy these podcasts, thank you for sharing with us!!
Hey David! Philosophy major over here, revisiting this after a year. Really enjoyed this episode, you should’ve been a philosophy major too you would’ve enjoyed it lol hope all is well!
45:50 title
Mjulthir is for real one dope dragon name. I think I slew one in Skyrim.
Hey David, when u spoke about developing a relationship thinking that u will spend the rest of their life with a partner but gets taken away is devastating.. almost reminded me of this CZcamsr named Alex terranova, he was engaged to a CZcamsr named Sierra but unfortunately they broke off their engagement so he always saw her in his future. he recently started a series on his channel speaking on heart breaks and what he felt and still goes through.. thought u may be interested on his take on this
I’ve never watched with edrick without a hat and glasses wtf thus man is handsome
What type of Vault-Tec ass experimentations
I also fought dragons 🤣
1:06:40 I GET U EDRIC.
What we learned from today's podcast: Either that intro was a test or David was just to goddamn tired, mixed up the intro in edit, and said "FUCK IT". Both episodes are great discussions either way.
BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT THOSE PANTS THO....Instant brand deal promotion for a local donut shop, GENIUS. Lol.
Dude I thought david was wearing Dora pants
I’m in a weird spot in my life right now but def wanna travel more!
does anyone know which podcast David talks abt David choi causing trouble? i'd love to hear the story.
I thought I was trippin at first lol
Anyone else develop a slight crush on Edric through these podcasts.. 🥺
Daaamn,I gotta watch that documentary
yyeeSSS i love the podcasts with you and edric!!
DAVID WE NEED THE ALBUM. PLS
Did anyone ever find the documentary I want to watch it
i watch this podcast multiple times. still can't take my eyes of David's awesome donut pants 🙂
i definitely agree on the part where yall talked about needing human interaction during quarantine. yea i can talk to my family, but it's different than friends. yea i can call my friends, but it's different than actually being there, especially being outside xD
I'm never this early... topic sounds like a good one!
I think child nurture and love is very important in the early stages of life, but as you grow into adult and become more matured, you don't necessarily need that kind of socialization. Or at least for me, that is the case. This quarantine that a lot of people have been complaining about and saying they miss their friends and family, it's the opposite for me because I do this on a regular basis already and I just enjoy playing online PC games and do my own thing. I learn about cooking, music, another IT topics, etc. I work in the IT field as a network engineer, and I never have enough time to learn about everything because just the topic Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is already a book of a dictionary size with thousands of pages. Then as network engineer merges closer with software engineer as our technology advances, we are required to know more about programming and data structure and Linux and all kinds of other things. Learning Linux from scratch and want to achieve an expert level will probably take few years. I start a new topic, it'll probably take me another few years. The information out there is just so mass that I won't even be able to finish learning all of these at an expert level if I were to read a different book each day. That's why I never had an issue with not socializing with people.
If you ever seen people such as Bach or Chopin or some kind, those kind of people are different and people couldn't understand them because they devoted their whole life in their passion. All they ever thought about was their music. If you can do that for something you are crazy about, just any topic, trust me, the time is never enough and you'll forget even to eat and sleep because how fascinated you are by your own research. In a flash of an eye, 20 years will go by then another 20 and you'll be an old man already.
Maybe that's just me, but I never had issue with not socializing with people because I think people for the most part are exhausting to me. When you try to maintain a relationship or keep in touch with people, it's an act of work and you have to constantly work at it to make it healthy. Just like a pet, you have to give it attention and food and water and the list goes on. I ain't got time for that, man. I'm the kind of person that is only interested in reaching out to a friend when I know they are in a shithole; otherwise, I'm not really interested in talking all the time. If you need help, I'll help you with whatever I can; otherwise, you should be able to keep yourself entertained. And if you can't, then it simply means to me you lack the mentality and discipline to do so. Because I can, and so can you.
The issue is that when people are bored, their thought starts to wonder about things such as missing their friends and family, then they start thinking about other things and feel lonely. If you ever been through a break-up, there's a reason why people tell you to keep yourself busy. It's because when you are busy and tired all the time, you won't have enough time to think about anything else. It's honestly just all about your mentality. The past is done. You can't change about that. There's no need to dwindle on a relationship from the past or whatever that's making you feel painful or lonely. The future is bright if you just focus on what's in front of you. Work on yourself and keep improving yourself. There's always something we can improve on ourselves. Only then can you bring lights and positive energy to other people's lives and make them grow too. And when you reach to a point that you feel like you are good and comfortable (maybe you have shit load of money and are super rich or whatever), then reach out and help other people. The world can use less people who are greedy and selfish bastard like Donald Trump. You get the point.
Great episode
The pathological liar ex must have been some sort of goddess or something. Dude was probably simpin too hard to really process anything.
Oh no david, the intro
I'm totally with you about the wonderfulness of traveling, but the carbon thing is really starting to eat at me. It's getting harder to look the other way. It's even more complicated when you're someone like me with family across the world. Not sure what the answer is. Maybe at least we can be more strategic and "budget" our miles. Savor and limit long-distance travel. Though limiting private jet travels will probably make a bigger impact.
Sister, Sister?
Haven’t made it here with under 25 views in years lol
Anybody know that documentary they were talking about
Aight David love the content bro but we just caught you slipped lol
Is the beginning highlight off???
Sauce for the doc from the start of this episode?
YYYAAAASSSS!!! #TEAMOCD #YOASSBETTERBECLEANBEFOREYOUGETINBED! #TEAMEDRIC
Damn they fucked up the experiment. The longer it goes the more the effects of methylation, acetylation, random mutations will have on the DNA. So, they would diverge the longer they lived as they experienced different things. FUCK, that would have been dope 😂😂
Does anybody know the name of the documentary David's talking about?
Three Identical Strangers
thornl Thanks!
